Great job! Did you get the C channel on Amazon? Interesting explanation about how to prevent cupping by ripping the slots. I make a lot of tables and will give this a try as well as your finish mix.
@@jayonasch1553C channels are stronger, they better prevent the wood from bending since they themselves are very good at not bending. A straight piece of metal will help, but it will be more likely to bend instead, the shape of c channels means they stay very straight and won’t budge, meaning the table they are attached to (hopefully) won’t either! I have always used them and they work great!

@@jayonasch1553 A straight bar has less horizontal rigidity. The "C" shape creates and "I-beam" like structure.
