    Well first, thanks for the review of the paints you use and the Benecci brushes, but more importantly, thank you for being a voice for those that are struggling with anxiety and its many causes. Since Covid struck our planet, even the most collected of people have endured stress. But from this first video, I think you are reaching out to those that are struggling at a much deeper level and from a more difficult place. Art is such an incredible outlet for emotions. I hadn't a clue just how cathartic art could be when I started four years ago. I just had to thank you for saying that you can work through your anxieties and other emotional issues through painting things you love. God bless. xxx

      Linda, you are absolutely welcome. I don't know about you, but I better understand my emotions and this crazy world using art. It's how my brain works - through color! And also, I've seen such beauty come from my pain and struggles. These experiences hold so many awesome lessons that I try to capture in paint to hold onto for the next storm, haha. Sending hugs! ❤️

Such a winning combination and your are absolutely an inspiring person. If there are more storms ahead, it is only because God hasn't fully honed you and it seems obvious to me that he has great plans for you. Look what you've already done on your TH-cam channel! Hello Terri, I'll send you links to what I use. I like gloss varnish or the matte varnish. You would just paint it right on once your canvas is completely dry. If you use the matte varnish, you would apply a coat of gloss, let that dry for a day, then apply the matte varnish.

    Hi Lauren. I'm new to painting (6 months or so). When I started I bought a load of brushes from Amazon, because I didn't know what I would need. I also bought a Benicci set. It turned out that I only need a few brushes in the smaller sizes as I paint on small canvasses ( 5 x 7, 8 x 8 and 8 x 10). As a total beginner, how do you know if a brush is working for you? I ask this because a lot of beginners will struggle with either their paint, their supports or their brushes, so how do you decide? Thanks for the videos, I appreciate them and your generosity of spirit! Take care!

    • @laurenelizabethanimalart3215
      @laurenelizabethanimalart3215  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like your question John. I would say first of all, make sure you have brushes that a good quality, meaning they don't leave bristles in your paint or fall apart when you wash them, and secondly, are you're brushes helping you get the desired look you want. I like seeing some brush strokes in my artwork, I also like some areas being smooth and well blended. So I tend to gravitate towards just a handful of the same brushes that work well. You honestly don't know ALOT of brushes to create great paintings, just ones that help you paint the way you enjoy and appeals to you.

    • @johnbyers1097
      @johnbyers1097 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your reply, Lauren. So it's basically a case of trial and error then until you find a brush that suits your painting style.

    Hi Lauren, thanks for the great info in this video. As a beginner I found it very helpful. I do have a question for you though. Do you wet your brush before dipping into the paint? I am working my way through your giraffe tutorial & have found my paintwork looks very thin in patches, probably as I am continually dipping my brush into the water. If you have any words of wisdom then I'd appreciate it:) Thank you!

    • @laurenelizabethanimalart3215
      @laurenelizabethanimalart3215  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. Yes. Whenever you feel the brush sticking to your canvas or pulling, that means it's time to wash out your brush and then pick up a small amount of paint. You never want to fill your brush with paint, keep it just a small amount for better control, especially when using the smaller brushed doing details. Does that answer your question?

Of these brushes only once have I had some shedding and after a few washes it never happened again. It was actually a Master's touch blender brush. I've been using these brand of brushes for over a year now STILL the same pack. Hope this helps!
