Put alfoil in a glass container with boiling water and sprinkle in baking soda and put your silver in and it works very very good without mucking around with electricity, is another good way .

To those who say "Never clean coins", they are already environmentally damaged. When you find coins they are already damaged and the best rule for "cleaning" a coin is to only clean it enough to REMOVE the corrosion. But as they are already damaged there is no further decrease in numismatic value. SO, take a chill pill. It ain't YOUR coin. Nice lesson on electrolysis Steve.

Electrolysis is great for cleaning and stabilizing objects. I use the Ugly Box unit with great results.
