Your mom was a card genius, how clever. I'm sure the people who receive such a lovely card will keep it up for a long time. I do vistaprints, this yr, it's the destroyed village with the cat sitting there looking in the mirror behind it. Ears back as cats do, and a ticked off look in the mirror, it's a bah humbug card this yr.

Omg as a fellow cat-lover that sounds like the perfect card 🤣

I made pressed flower hanging glass lanterns for my daughters garden wedding. We had so many nice compliments. And the press i have my husband made for me with just scrap wood he had around the house. Just makes it more SPECIAL. And of course I decorated it.

Your press sounds really interesting Karen, did your husband followed some plans or just made it up himself? I would love to "place an order" for one from my husband😊

Anyone would love to receive a hand made crafted card - even if I wasn't a gardener, a card like this would bring me Joy♥

I like how you emphasize the joy of doing and the process rather than aiming for perfect results. The result is organic and creative and just more relaxed than over-produced things.

I agree! I used to be hard on myself with whatever I made until I realized my friends didn’t see the flaws I did.

I enjoyed watching you make your Christmas/Hanukkah cards, while I’m stamping my Christmas cards.
It brought back wonderful memories when you mentioned Romancing the Ordinary. I have a Romance the ordinary sign in my craft room that I received at the Garden Answer Field trip that I was able to attend. I need to do more of this.
From a fellow, so so handwriting person, you can stamp your greeting on the back. I’d just do it prior to adding the flowers.
I’m looking forward to pressing more flowers next year, thanks for the inspiration from your beautiful cards.

It was amazing, I knew that I would love seeing Laura and Susan’s Gardens and everything that I would learn. What I didn’t realize is the friends that I would make during this event. The group also did a project at a women’s shelter, it touched my heart that we were able to change these ladies and their children’s outdoors environments so much in such a short period of time.

Do you have video, where do you make pressed flovers? These are so grate way to use plants.

Nice, my microfleur just arrived and I have anxiety about choosing the right type of glue. Mod podge looks much easier than like a hot glue gun.. have you tried any zinnias? I'm guessing they're too thick? Unless I do like a dwarf
I had the smaller microfleur in my cart and at the very last minute changed to the 9 inch.

I’ve never tried pressing zinnias but I’m going to at least attempt it next year. Even if the whole flower doesn’t press well, some petals might!

There's nothing perfect in nature so I fully agree that you shouldn't strive for that using natural flowers. I bet you could also design a larger art piece on canvas for your wall. That would look nice.

I sort of did that to fill a space on my wall! I’ll try to remember to show it in a video. I definitely want to make more too.
