In my mind (because I'm way too lazy to actually do this), I can imagine making a calendar out of this, somehow swapping out the center piece each month with a vignette of the new month's plants, leaves, flowers. You could frame the outside with a swappable frame that has each flower/plant/leaf around the center, with the botanical names and short description of each object. The best part is it's a high-personable calendar because everything in it came from your own garden.
    Nice, Laura. Very nice.

“.... because I am way too lazy to actually do this” that would apply to me too. 😂

@@InverseDream Again, waaaaay too lazy, but what I want you to take away from this video is that Laura did something creative and inspired you or at least made you think of what you *could* do. Whatever happens from there, in your mind or deed , is... *art* . I imagined a calendar. What did this video inspire you or make you think you could do? *THAT'S* the point of all of this. Peace.

@@Bamboo4U2 Yes! I have two frames in my dining area, with (now very old) fern fronds I pressed and put between two glass pieces in the frames. I've wanted, for a long time, to create rotating versions to swap out seasonally. This video helped me better imagine how that will (*WILL*) work - and look!

I loved watching this! I was raised in a flower garden-loving family. Years ago, I picked flowers from my mine, Gram's and Mom's flower gardens, unbeknownst to them. I pressed and preserved the flowers and arranged them in 5 X 7 frames for them for a gift. When they passed away, their frames were placed in their caskets with them so they could have flowers from our gardens with them forever.

How sweet/delightful your video! Loved it. I spent weeks 30 some years ago pressing pansies and Johnny Jump Ups to adorn the envelopes of my son’s wedding invitations and envelopes. I pressed them I big books between tissues. No computer then to look it up on how. I followed the idea out of a simple child’s craft book. I used a spray glue to attach them instead of Alene’s. Years later my grandson found one of the pressed flowers in a big encyclopedia book . It was still beautiful. He put it in his girlfriends Math book as a surprise w/ a note, and when she found opened up , she was surprised right there in the classroom. Thanks for the video. Wish I had known about a flower press then!

Back in the 70s, pressed flowers were a hot crafting item. I put them on colored honeycomb wax sheets instead of paper. I still have one left that has had a place in my decor for over 40 years. I used vintage frames so if it was vintage in the 70s, it is an antique now!

Thanks for the reminder of something so very special to me.

Oh my gosh Laura you are truly amazing, this is why next year I will have my garden full of blossoms I can press and make into beautiful pictures and cards, I'm an artist and I think the combination of my art and the flowers would be amazing, thank you for such a great idea, now my head is swimming with ideas. I remember when my daughter got married 14 years ago and she had pressed flowers in her decorations and invitations, and I just thought what a beautiful way to share flowers, I still have many things that I have in frames and around as a beautiful reminder of a special day. Thank you so much for this amazing video, I really enjoyed watching this, I hope you have a beautiful day and I will see you soon, bye for now.

Love, love, love the final result of your flower press project. I too also remember an aunt of mine selling her pressed flowers all beautifully framed at a shop when I was a teenager. Thank you for reminding me of such beautiful memories. ;)

I said this on another of your videos this week, but it holds true here, too. You remind me a lot of the Martha Stewart shows from 25ish years ago. Those were my favorites and she did so many pretty projects, including flower pressing, as well as gardening and everything home. That is when I first did flower pressing, so maybe there was a "Martha" for my mother's generation, too, but she was it for mine and now you are the new "Martha ". :) I know how much your mother has influenced you and I bet she remembers the early Martha Stewart shows like i do. Anyway, i love that you are filling this role for those of us who have missed it. xxx P.S. I wonder if your mom also remembers the Aleene's crafts shows? Aleene is the maker of tacky glue and she and her daughters had a crafts show, too.

I have a small flower press with screws that I bought with my Grandma when we went to an antique warehouse/big thrift store last year. I’ve just finished prepping for my first pressed flower diy in a long time, its filled me with joy! Thank you for inspiring me to get out into the garden this morning!

Oh wow...I just got to seeing this one. I used to do this when I was a younger. Haven’t done this in a while. Something to do for this spring/summer.

What a lovely way to keep our prettiest blooms and foliage around us at the peak of their beauty. I would love to see home made paper with flowers in it...I really like that too.
