I’ve got them down pretty good now. Very reliable and that’s what most people have trouble with. I trust them to take out big black grouper that are very valuable to the market

Cutting the pipe with a band saw is a game changer as well because it leaves very little burr That’s easily removed on a bench grinder or some kind of disc or belt sander. I hit the inside on one side of the tube with a counter sink to clear the burr to slide everything together
At this price I don’t care if I lose them or not and I don’t have to throw bullets out after a day of Diving, so it probably saves me money in the long run.

too much epoxy around the top pf the bullet can cause blowback . it is like a gun barrel that is blocked.. better to use wax or silicone at least around where the bullet and casing junction .meets .what ever sealant that is used it must not impede the bullet
Epoxy is the best thing I’ve used for reliability. I’ve used wax and silicone before and it’s not near as easy or producing the same results for reliability as this method. If that’s what you wanna do have fun with it I’ve been there done it. Wax tends to melt out while in the sun as well.
@@jasonbihari I did it just like you had shown however, I tried it on a shark that was stealing my tuna on near the surface and the kick back against the shaft was very strong, after thinking about it I thought that maybe the epoxy was restricting the bullet causing the blowback thru the primer
I have less than a dollar per piece of pipe. It’s not worth the time it would take to clean them out to reuse. Most of the time the pipe will stick into the fish or shark you were shooting anyway and if I’m shooting a shark, I’m not going digging around trying to get it back.

To bad I live overseas or would be glad for you to have it in your older age collection
If it's one of the old Powerheads, they will work fine for Gators and out of the water. But beware of using the the discardables you use for spearfishing out of water. Might not hold up. Or were talking about a SS sidearm? 🤣 @@jasonbihariMy old S&W 27 is just right for gators next to the boat

Do you reuse the metal pipe? I think no because it would be a PITA to get all the old stuff out to reload.
Too cheap to work that hard to reload. More times than not the powerhead comes off in the Fish anyway.
Do you cut the black rubber tubing at 2” lengths or shorter?

I figured about $3 per. The pipe was 18ish and I get 22 out of the stick. I had $42 in a box of 50 rounds and the other stuff isn’t much.

How long do you cut the black tubing? thanks for the great video. i hate it when my powerheads don't go off, hopefully this will fix that problem.
About an inch and a half. The shafts I use have long points in front of the flopper so it works well.

How did you make the mold exactly, curious how you help something in place for it to cure.
Poured one layer and let cure then placed cut pipe where and how many I wanted and poured the second layer around them.

Poured half the silicone in the container and let cure than set pipes in as I wanted them then poured the other half of silicone around the pipes.
Definitely make them like this and you will knock out most of the failures. Saves a ton of time and effort as well

Depends on where you hit them. It’ll keep them away from you anyway.
