Hi Matt I have a holland with adjusting bolt out the front. Like you said turn it out tightens it. I have gone to shops that have kingpin and a long handle. They lock it in your fifth wheel. Then adjust it. But I do mine like you do. Great advice as always.
The fifth on the KW I drive does not unlatch at times, I never seen a mechanic, nor I adjust the fifth wheel. Could this help with unlatching from a trailer?

Thanks for the information. It’s real helpful. Also, I love her post. That’s awesome. Amen.
Appreciate this, mine feels like it has so much slack when I stop or pull forward, I’ll give it a go
Thanks

Probably not if you don’t have any play when you pull forward, that sounds more like a mechanical jaw issue. Might just need some more grease.
@@sturgelltruckingllc4074 Thanks, I will share your channel with our drivers. This is helpful, thanks.
Does the trailer have to be hooked up in order to adjust ?
Nope
How to know when is too tight?
It will bind and pop when you turn
