    For more than 150 years the Rereahu and Ngāti Maniapoto region has been commonly known as Te Rohe Pōtae or the King Country: names that date back to the time of King Tāwhiao.
    However, the region has an original name that speaks of the ancient beauty and abundance of the land when it was
    first discovered - that name is Te Nehenehenui.
    In this two-part series, we explore the events that gave rise to the name, its significance, and how Te Nehenehenui has become a vital source of inspiration for its people moving into the future.
