Prior to land development, Te Nehenehenui was once an ancient nirvana and home to the Patupaiarehe. This waiata is one of two Nehenehenui waiata produced to engage and share history of Te Nehenehenui with Ngāti Maniapoto of home and Ngāti Maniapoto of the world.
