Prior to land development, Te Nehenehenui was once an ancient nirvana and home to the Patupaiarehe.
This waiata is the latest single and the first of two Nehenehenui waiata to be released. Like ‘Haere mai ki Maniapoto released in December 2021’ and ‘Maungārongo released in April 2022’, this waiata was produced, using the same medium, to engage and share history of Te Nehenehenui with Ngāti Maniapoto of home and Ngāti Maniapoto of the world.
