    This is the best PartyCade and in my top Arcade1Up machines period. Great review

    This will be my next A1Up (and 1st partycade) purchase!!! Loved Defender and Joust in the arcade and glad the control deck is close to the original, unlike the 3/4 edition.

    Awesome review Bill. Well paced and your cadence and delivery here are very professional. You really sell the unit well, and deservedly, as it is one of Arcade1Up’s best. I agree completely, the inclusion of SINISTAR and GORF really add such a great extra element to this partycade, having those with Defender and Wizard of Wor help to make this a space sci fi themed gem. If you are warming to partycades, try hunting down the Galaga partycade, it is absolutely worth it.

    This was an amazing review! Definitely wanting one of these now. The actual defender layout would be amazing!

    Awesome review and awesome partycade! I wish it was 3/4 cabinet. I agree with you that this has the best selection of games to go with the proper Defender control layout. Most people know Gorf is my number 1 title so my opinion is a little swayed😉...A1up does offer Gorf on there Mortal Kombat Head-to-Head Arcade Table. One of Gorfs three cabinets originally offered was a head-to-head.🦶

      Thanks Goofy Foot! And thank you for the correction - I forgot Gorf appeared on that Head-to-Head cocktail table.

      Idk why they haven’t made this a 3/4 scale cab yet

    Time for 1up to start adding 2,4 way restrictors in the joystick to adjust per game.
    A manual slider or switch would do, or ability to easily lift out stick from the top to adjust restrictor

    Sinistar and Gorf are on the Arcade 1Up MK Cocktail Table. I already owned the Midway Legacy cabinet. I bought the cocktail table one just to play Gorf alone. Also has Klax. I like the look of the partycade version of Gorf with the light up ranks but I'll take my cocktail version as the monitor is vertical like it should be an flips the screen for 2 players.

    Dead nutz review
    The partycade form factor does it for me.
    Beautiful display piece, arcade art on my wall.
    Pitch perfect game selection, usb port on point should be standard on all machines.

    The monitors in these are more crisp than any of the gen1 cabinets. Much darker blacks and brighter colors.
    Thanks for letting me know how to use a second controller

    I would love to buy one of these - but for some reason, Arcade1Up decided not to sell them in Canada.
    All we get are the zillion variants of PacMan.... :(

    We put our Defender on a mini fridge in our 2nd arcade makes it stand up and play height!!!

    The reason they didn't put Stargate on it is because it has an extra button (Inviso) that is normally placed beneath and to the left of the Smart Bomb button, so there's really not enough room on the Partycade CP for that, unfortunately.

  • @Savitor
    @Savitor 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would have been very interested in this if the joystick had only moved up and down and it had just two games (Defender and Stargate) with the proper button layout.

    Thanks for the great review! Any idea if these were readily available from several places? Can't find many for sale

    • @BillsRetroGamingShow
      @BillsRetroGamingShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's tough. When they go on sale they sell out quick! Keep an eye on HSN and QVC - they tend to get them in and put them on sale from time to time.

    Very nice review! Do you know if Rampage supports 3 players, perhaps with a USB hub? I saw that Gauntlet is running the two player version of the ROMs, but I think Rampage only ever had a 3 player version. So I wonder if with a 2nd USB controller that would work?

    • @BillsRetroGamingShow
      @BillsRetroGamingShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I just tried it and, while it recognized the usb hub and the two extra controllers, I could not get a third player to come up in Rampage. SO, I don't think you can get three players playing, only two.

    • @Retro6502
      @Retro6502 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for giving it a try! That's too bad, but not a deal breaker by any means. Still a great selection of games on this partycade and being able to do 2-player is a nice bonus.

    I love my defender partycade, I didn’t get the first generation arcade1up that had defender because there some arcade games that you need the original control panel layout and it didn’t, also it was disappointing that the regular 3/4 scale arcade1up dedicated defender cabinet had the mortal combat controls layout so I passed on that as well and when I saw the partycade had the correct controls I got it , but if arcade1up ever released a 3/4 stand up with the correct control panel I would certainly get it but if not I’m happy with the partycade, just my .02 cents

    • @XR1000

      How are you finding the shallow control deck?? I have just purchased one on ebay but nervous to sell my big one incase it feels weird with no wrist support? U still enjoying?

    • @pez334
      @pez334 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@XR1000 I’m still enjoying it but let me say this, I have my partycade mounted to a wall and there is a difference slightly to me about how my hands and wrist feel while playing compared to an original, you won’t beat having an original arcade defender, I would prefer an original but price and space kinda prevent me but I still enjoy my partycade and personally I would never get rid of a defender arcade machine if I had one , just my .02 cents

    • @XR1000
      @XR1000 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pez334 Thanks for the reply! I also wish I had an original Defender lol! I’ve got a modded arcade1up 3/4 with correct control panel from 99 lives. I’ll take ur advise and wait to try out the partycade before selling it. Thanks again.

    Which USB joystick would you recommend?

  • @ChromeFamily
    @ChromeFamily ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you use the USB port to load more games like they do with a countercades?

    • @BillsRetroGamingShow
      @BillsRetroGamingShow  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at this time. And don't try it with the countercade mods because you will very likely destroy your machine. They may be working on something for these in the future, but it doesn't seem to be a focus of theirs so it's probably not coming anytime soon.

    • @BillsRetroGamingShow
      @BillsRetroGamingShow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, it's a shame that this one is hard to come by, because it's one of their better machines. Used to come up from time to time on HSN or QVC at a descent price, but haven't seen it recently.

    • @foundme454545

      It's too bad Arcade1up hasn't chosen to re-release some of these partycades. Maybe we'll see more this year? Who know???

    • @jukingeo
      @jukingeo 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BillsRetroGamingShow I had missed out on the first run of the Star Wars arcade game, but was happy that they did a re-release, but at a higher price! Now, when I finally had the money to get it, it was gone AGAIN! Out of the Defender arcade games they put out, the Partycade had the most accurate control panel. However, I didn't even know it came out. Again, it is gone. It is due to this and the ever increasing prices that has me getting fed up with Arcade 1Up. In fact, I passed them up when it came to the virtual pinball machines. I ended up buying a Micro Pinball from Atgames and I am happy with that as it is nice and small and it comes with 50 games! In addition, you can add a computer to it to add FX3 and Visual Pinball tables. You can't do that with the Arcade 1Up machines. But yeah, if they ever re-release the Defender Partycade, I would certainly get it.
