I also got a silver ring at a garage sale last year for $20. I decided to have it appraised. The owner of the jewelry store offered me $7500.00 for my ring saying in was white gold with 2.2 carats diamond. ....I suddenly woke up 😴 as poor as when I went to bed 🛌 Edit: Thanks for the likes guys
My mom loves costume jewelry too, I know one day when she’s gone I’ll cherish it like you do. Like it’s priceless 💗 glad you have your mums stuff still.
Sorry, dear :-(. My mom had a real diamond that I now have, but I have all her old Avon jewelry and old watches she never got new batteries for as well. Money's not nearly as valuable as memories.
When my grandmother passed, to some of the family's great annoyance, she left me all her jewelry. Some pieces were from the 1920's and were worth a bit of money, but like another commenter said, money's not nearly as valuable as memories. A couple pieces I wear, namely her antique cameo and a pair of opal earrings, but the rest is locked up in my safe.
Before my Grandmother passed away, she asked me what I would like of hers after she was gone and I replied, NaNa, May I Please have Your MaMa’s Beautiful costume jewelry necklace and she had such a funny look on her face when I asked her for that one piece & she said, Mija, why that one & I said, Because it’s was Your MaMa’s & my Great grandmother’s and it’s Lovely. Well she came to tell me also when I asked for that Specific necklace she said it was already 80 Years old when I first wore it back on December 18th, 2002 & now 20 years later, it’s 100 years old. I’ve had Many of people come up to me and ask me where I got my necklace, because they had never seen it’s style and Beauty before & I tell them that it was my Great Grandmother’s Poor girls diamonds 😁🥰😁🥰😁🥰😁🥰😁 I Miss You NaNa 😞😞😞😞
Maybe because I'm old school but, sometimes I enjoy a good story. I enjoyed this and think it's pretty cool to imagine the joy she felt from it turning out to be something that helped her financially in THIS life ;)
His avid interest was the catalyst that made her finally get the stone appraised after having it for thirty years. I'm wondering if she had let him look at it if he would have taken off with it?
Bernee Martin Yes. He most likely was a thief and recognized good jewelry. No normal legitimate jeweler would chase someone down in a parking garage to get a better look. They would know that it would make the person feel uncomfortable.
She done him in in the subway with her nail file , stashed him down a grid . Made off with his wallet she sold the ring and fled to a country she couldnt be trien .. funny how things turn out 😂😂😂
I had a similar situation. My grandpa bought a bunch of jewelry in an estate sale. My grandma sent some of it up to me and it turns out one of the rings was a yellow gold/platinum setting with a half carrot diamond. Cut in the late 1800s/early 1900s. Used it as the main stone in my first engagement ring. 💍
Wow what a coincidence!! Just now I was standing in the checkout line at wholefoods and this lady was also eyeing my earrings 😂 and she told me those my style of diamond jacket earrings are definitely vintage and quite rare and no one makes those anymore!! Made me want to look into it more so I did a search and found this video and laughed when I heard the similar story. Maybe I should get them appraised... regardless, I ain't auctioning these bad boys off 😎💍💎
My sister sometimes will go into Goodwill to see what they have in the used dishes area and see if someone has donated something worth $$$!! She has an eye for that. She’ll look it up and buy it if it is and resell it!!!! It’s only hit big-ish a couple of times, but that’s better than nothing!!! You never know what goodies are waiting!!! So many people just donate family members who have passed belongings without seeing what they are worth!
Clarissa, that is how I got my porcelain collection. I went around to goodwills for 6-8 months slowly collecting shabby chic teacups/ tea sets for my wedding. A family member noticed some of their value and they’ve been carefully tucked away ever since!
Was going say the same, how is she a millionaire if the ring sold for less than 850 thousand, am sorry to be a millionaire its said u need at least 10 million to live of the intrest if thats the case sorry but she's a little off tbh, just a little, not by much, just like £9,150,000 short
my mother bought a silver ring for $5 at a flea market back in 1989....she only wore it couple of times cause it was fashion....she said that everyone used to ask her about her cheap ring cause it called the attention....it was tarnished...and the stone was really dark in the inside....one day a good friend of the family that happens to be a jeweler took a look and examined the ring just cause she asked him to clean....HE FOUND OUT THAT THE RING IS A REAL DIAMOND....AND ITS VALUE IS AROUND $5000...SHE CLEANED AND OF COURSE SHE STILL HAS IT.!!!!!
I love this story. I had a similar circumstance but just a little above 360 thousand 😘 Check your jewelry relatives give you especially those great Grandparents.
My wife had a beautiful one K diamond ring. We were fishing from a boat in a large deep lake in CA when she took it off, because It was catching on her fishing reel. She accidentally dropped it into the water! Five years later, I was cutting up a fish that I had caught in that same lake, when suddenly, my knife struck something hard. It was the bone in my thumb.
Similar thing happened to a friends mother. She bought a sewing box at a yard sale. While going through the box she found a large ring. She gave it to us kids to play with. It laid around the house a couple years until a friend of hers told her she thought it might be real. She had it appraised and it was a very large real diamond. Luckily we didn’t lose it!
If I had written that on paper and turned it in as school work, my teacher would have crossed out everything after the first sentence and before the last sentence. The end.
45 years ago a friend of mine bought a purl and stone layered bracelet for a garage sale for $5.00. It was nice. A friend of ours told here to have it checked out at a jewelry store. She did, come to find out the bracelet was made of salt water purls and diamonds. That it was worth back then for over $30,000.00. You never know what you can pick up at yard, garage or estate sales.
Everything is not as it seems. The ring was mine! I bought it at a boutique for 15 dollars. It was my special gift from Jehovah God! I love 💕 shiny things, and he was providing for me. I didn't know it was diamond!! I thought it was rock crystal. My ex and his girlfriend stole it out of my jewelry, when I came to Missouri to help my dying Mother. When I went back, to gather my things to live in Missouri, I had a lot of jewelry I didn't notice the ring missing. They held onto it 7 years, long enough for in the polices eyes It was abandoned property. Then they cashed in!!!! A very dirty trick!!!!
I once bought a painting at a garage sale for $40.00. My family thought I was crazy, to pay that much for a garage sale item, but whatever, I wanted it and bought it. Imagine my surprise when 8 months later I had the painting appraised. It was worth $3.00. My family was right. The b*stards!!
LMAO M JK the part when they described her searching for her ring with all the details of where she looked and how stressed she was and how she huffed and puffed then found it next to her toothbrush... lol this was the masterpiece of drawn out story telling
I had an ugly gold cheap looking ring. My uncle gave it to me with some other costume jewelry. I had all my rings in a small bag so i took that bag one day to the pawnshop with intentions of getting a small loan on one to pay a bill. The jewelry appraiser was super interested in that ugly gold ring, come to find out it was solid 18kt gold and a 3kt diamond which he said was one of the clearest diamond he had ever seen, he bought it right then and there for $10,500. To think i had almost thrown it away a few times.... I was so thankful i hadn't.

U just nvr kno. I got pissed at my fiance 1 time n thru my engagement ring out the window drivin down a busy road n fl. 6mon later i was at a pawn shop just browsing n there n the jewelry case was my ring, minus the center stone. My fiance asked me if I wanted it back n I said no. It's got bad history but whoever found it was probably thinking they got pretty lucky stumbling upon it walking down the street
Don't ever let a jeweler "keep" your ring for several days. Don't ever let a jeweler take your jewelry into the "back room" for appraisal. Don't ever let your jewelry out of your sight. A good Jeweler can appraise your jewelry in front of you & unscrupulous jewelers change out stones all the time! Count the pearls on your necklace before you turn it in to be restrung & have another jeweler appraise and size the pearls before you turn your necklace in to be restrung.
I once went to a flea market. I got a flat tire and it started to rain, after struggling with the jack came to find out the lug nuts were so tight I slipped in the mud and spotted a gold gleam through the sand. Fortunate for me and you could imagine my surprise the gold gleam was actually my car keys had fallen from my jacket. Apparently a hole had been worn in my jacket pocket. This jacket was 100% genuine cow leather and had been given to me by my grandfather whom I had always loved dearly. He was a kind old man who had a hearty laugh. One day he laughed so hard it put him in the hospital, strangely the hospital was very near where I got the flat tire. I thought to myself what a strange set of coincidences. Of course my grandfather is home now, he loves to sit by the fire, especially on a rainy day. Crimey, I wish it would stop raining. Oh yeah where was I? Mud was everywhere...
The ring was mine! I bought it at the thrift store, my ex and his girlfriend stole it, held onto it, long enough to be called abandoned property by the police, then they sold it! It was my special gift from Jehovah God! I'm the one who struggled financially all my life. But I love shiny things!!!!
Jesus. This was ridiculous! This was a simple story. They turned it into a 7:48 min Video. It could have been told in 30-45 seconds. Don't waste your time.
I was thinking the exact same! Why do people feel the need to lie aswel, I thought she became a millionaire? Waited all that time and found out she only got 600k
"She went to the flea market where she was walking, as she always walks while at the flea market, which she likes to go to for walks. While walking, she found that the flea market was indeed a great place for walking, which she continued to do this time as she did the other times that she was walking at the flea market. But this time was different. But it was also the same because she walked just as she had the previous times that she walked while at the flea market..."
And as she was walking, the way she typically walks when she's out for a walk, she began to ponder the meaning of "flea market." Was it a market for selling fleas, or was it a market for selling things for fleas. Perhaps, as she walked her walk through the flea market, it was a market for selling things that fleas needed. Or made of fleas? Clearly it was not a market full of fleas because as she walked on her walky walk she noted no fleas had flown to her...

I know my costume jewelry isn't worth anything to anyone but me. It used to be my late Momma's, so it's priceless.
Yes whether it's worth pennies or hundreds if it was my grandmother's then I don't care it's mine forever because it means something to me.
This is the wordiest, most drawn out , most insipid "story". Yes, entice your audience....but get to the ruddy point.

Maybe because I'm old school but, sometimes I enjoy a good story. I enjoyed this and think it's pretty cool to imagine the joy she felt from it turning out to be something that helped her financially in THIS life ;)

Why Don’t I have That Kind of Luck? Beautiful Ring. Great Story! 💎
So, who was the man that had made her so uncomfortable, staring at her ring? Such a big deal was made about him, then NOTHING! Time wasted!
It's the story teller of this video
Lonely Truther333 Well, He sounded like a run of the mill jewel thief.
Made off with his wallet she sold the ring and fled to a country she couldnt be trien .. funny how things turn out 😂😂😂
Longest story ever told. Try this: Woman buys ring she thinks is costume jewelry. It isn't. The end.
Best timed story-telling, ever.
Yes, but there would be no hilarious comments to read. We would criticize and say " Sheesh, embellish a bit why don't ya".
Reading all the comments was more interesting then the video thanks for a good laugh ...😄

Now isn't that something!!!!
That's so cool!!
Lol

I bought a ring at a garage sale for $2.00 took it to a jewelry store and it turned out to be real and worth several hundred dollars!
So.. if a ring sells for several hundred thousand dollars, it makes one a millionaire?

I watched this video together with my family, neighbours and all their pets, this story has really touched and changed our lives😏

You're not supposed to comment if you can't spell! LOL
I agree. She wasn't ever a millionaire. But she could be, if she converted to, say, pesos. ;>
Yup. Just a thousandaire...
The end.
title says she is a millionaire but only got $850,000 for it.

While listening to this story I received my first social security check.......

The ring was mine! It was stolen
Remember the Jeweler told her half the price, so they can double their money if she sold it to them....real slick
Short version: woman buys ring at flea market for 10 pounds ends up being worth 650,000..... there ya go!!
Thankyou for saving me so much time! :-)
Just absolutely hilarious & I cant stop laughing

"She went to the flea market where she was walking, as she always walks while at the flea market, which she likes to go to for walks. While walking, she found that the flea market was indeed a great place for walking, which she continued to do this time as she did the other times that she was walking at the flea market. But this time was different. But it was also the same because she walked just as she had the previous times that she walked while at the flea market..."

😅😂🤣
Finish the story man
😂😂😂😂😂
And as she was walking, the way she typically walks when she's out for a walk, she began to ponder the meaning of "flea market." Was it a market for selling fleas, or was it a market for selling things for fleas. Perhaps, as she walked her walk through the flea market, it was a market for selling things that fleas needed. Or made of fleas? Clearly it was not a market full of fleas because as she walked on her walky walk she noted no fleas had flown to her...
