    Jealousy. That was the first thing that came to my mind. We've been conditioned to follow the formula...college, job, marriage, kids, house, retirement. When people are brave enough to step away from traditional paths and pave their own, they become targets. That's one reason you TH-cam Channel drew me in...life redesigned...just the way YOU want it. 😊

    I really like people who are full time living and my financial situation won't permit me to live a rv life. I keep an open mind why people are living a full time rv life because I research the lifestyle from watching TH-cam videos. As for me, instead of being negative all the time, I look at the whole picture. I wish you safe travels. A long as you're happy living a full time rv lifestyle, that's what's important. Take care, Alan.

      @@liferedesigned You're welcome! Think about it--anything we do that makes us happy and I mean anything. You know what I mean. You can combine "that" with the rv lifestyle. People are jealous of us doing anything that makes us happy. You and I don't have to explain to jealous people or answer to them why we do what makes happy. For example--I'm 62 years old, a retro guy. I have been wearing my hair long since I was 11 years old. My job permits me to wear my hair long. I still wear my hair long and I will admit, I love to wear my hair long and it makes me happy because I can be myself. My hair is currently 7, 8 inches past my shoulders. I keep the split ends trimmed every 6 months so that my hair grows faster and longer. My long hair doesn't hurt anyone. I keep my hair neat and clean, washing it every day. At 62 years old, I have a thick full head of hair. Let's face it--negative people are jealous of us who do anything that makes us happy. They can go sit on it.

    How does one "over sensationalize" this lifestyle? We absolutely love this lifestyle! We have zero plans to stop. Sure things happen that aren't fun from time to time. But most days are good days.
    As for finances, I always tell people it really isn't any cheaper to live this lifestyle. It's just a different way to spend your money. If people want to call us homeless, let them. It doesn't hurt my feelings in living my best life seeing the amazing country I fought for while they are stuck in one spot doing the daily grind. We are blessed to be able to live this life.
    People talk about others when they are jealous or not happy with their own life. Happy people don't have to bash others. Facts!

    I thought of a new One. Do full time RVers pay any taxes ? People with a house pay a lot of taxes which funds local economies, utility co. schools, city Govt., police protection, Fire protection. I know Rvers pay Sales Taxes Yes but what else, ? They flush tolieits, get water, dump gray and black water use Elec. I wonder what you can say about this. Thanks, i Love that you bring up this stuff that no one else has really been talking about

    • @liferedesigned
      @liferedesigned  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Laura:
      RVers pay a TON of taxes - from camping fees to sales tax - Taxes are everywhere. Local economies welcome RVING as the revenue generated keeps many smaller towns going and they rely on that income.
      While we may not get the bill directly for water and electric- the RV parks sure do and those fees pay for all of that.
      Lol, believe me - governments never go without getting paid taxes 🤣🤣

    Everyone’s RV Life expectancy is different. Unfortunately, many people these days do not want to accept responsibility for their own actions. Being houseless does not mean you are “homeless”. I would rather live in a “RV” than be homeless. I experienced that as a child living underneath a bridge.

      @@liferedesigned We are retired and live this lifestyle for 1/3 of what it used to cost us to live in our old S&B home. Property tax excesses are a big reason we are living this lifestyle. When they raised our property taxes 1,000% one year, we realized that the government could tax us out of our home any time the wanted. Our home was never really paid for, but we were merely renting our property from the state. We boondock most of the time, but if we were to live in our favorite RV park all year long, our entire housing costs would be less than just our old property tax bill! That's outrageous if you ask me.

    I'm a little older than you guys so I can remember when RVing was just a vacation thing and camping was another. The well-off always had motorhomes, fifth wheels, and large travel trailers, whereas the middle class had tents, popups, and small pull-behind travel trailers. I think the reason that it gets such negativity is the old adage trailer trash and people that lived in single wides and the problems that came with them. People don't change only situations change and paranoia always supersedes everything so when the people who don't understand a situation start to speak they tend to over-explify the things they don't understand. I think full-time rving has a place in our society so long as the people doing it respect the area and obey the lifestyle.

      Yes, I have seen that but it all changed after the pandemic when everyone decided to buy an RV without any knowledge of what they were doing or even etiquette on how to behave and what to do and not to do. I've seen many free camping sites/land trashed and closed by land management teams because of overuse and people's lack of caring. It infuriates me to no end to find places left like that because most TRUE full-time RV'ers appreciate and value our life and care for our land, parks and places we go. I bought my first rig and started in 2016 and I can tell you it has changed tremendously since then - it is a shame.

    As you've pointed out in past videos, negativity sells. It's kind of a sad reality on TH-cam especially. We've both done videos addressing this and I'd be willing to bet that, like us, those are some of your better performing videos. Keep on keepin' on my friends.

    • @liferedesigned
      @liferedesigned  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly, our best performing videos are simply videos discussing what others either are afraid of discussing or don't because they want to be "sponsor friendly". The negative side of any genre is good BUT only when it is paired with the positives, This is where most channels that go down that road fail. Build a negative channel and you will be surrounded by negative people.
      The simplest way to succeed on TH-cam is to be real. If it resonates with people they will subscribe and join. If they don't - time to find a new hobby lol

    Man, I really wish I could meet you guys in person. I have so many questions I'd like to ask. I'm really frustrated trying to find 'my' RV right now; so many people don't reply when I contact them and I've lost count on how many times an RV is sold within 48hrs after I try to make contact and before I get a chance to go look at it. Then there's the people who type up 5 whole words to 'describe' their RV or say things like "Runs great, just needs a fuel pump/needs new batteries"...???
    Calgon, take me away!

      @@liferedesigned Well, I don't have the finances to buy new and I don't want to start having a monthly car payment after being free from that for 10 years now. I also don't want to sink a lot of money into this right off the bat since I'm just wanting to see if it's something I'd want to do long-term...I can buy newer/spend more money down the road if I do stick it out. Thanks for the reply...take care and be safe.

    Heya folks got a question about connecten the router looks exactly like the homefi router which they send with att on. Have to send that back cause connections were either non existent or slow just about everywhere with T-Mobile I always have useable. So is connecten router hooked up to external antenna or just does well for your work by itself I don’t remember but I think that’s all you use correct?

    • @liferedesigned
      @liferedesigned  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      All we use is ConnecTen where we have cell coverage. For places that have no cell service we use Starlink. ConnecTen we use as is- no external antennas. It is mounted behind our TV and have no issues anywhere.

    I like the RV van life e-beggers. I mean, why bother to sell anything? Just beg for money. It works. I recently "flew a sign" (begging) on a city street corner. I made $117 in just a few hours. That's equal to over 50,000 youtube views.

    Thanks for the great points brought up. To the environmental impact point...oh man. Exactly what you mentioned. Even with our 30 year old motorhome Betty, we do not commute every day with one or even two cars to and back from work. Even with our old lady we produce less emissions that way alone. Then on top of it, we are heating exactly 14sqm (metric, sorry, Canadian here ;) Guess what we are not heating anymore.... a 2000sqft house in which we were only on average half of the day....so much less emissions there as well. And to end this point, as mentioned our unit is 30 years old and we are not buying new vehicles all the time. Our rig gets the most use out of it without us requiring new rigs or vehicles every couple of years which need to be built from scratch every time...which...produces a lot of emissions. Ok, we better stop here, haha. best wishes from our little TH-cam channel to your both!

    The people that you are talking about are usually the really beautiful people. They always have perfert hair and makeup. then they sell their pads, batteries . beds, E BIKES, ;propane and propane accesssories. I think someone else is buying their expensive RVs because they are always buying new ones ( that usually faiil or break ). I kind of thinking about the couple with a baby that has an Airstream and then buys a very expensive Airstream Van and they have oodles of problems. woe is them.

    Dang. I thought I found a cool channel until you said "rent control is unbelievably missing". THE problem in the country is that we let our government move from required money, Constitutional Money (article 1 section 10), to something that is not money, but rather, unbacked, debt-based forced currency dependent on exponential, unsustainable growth. So, um, yeah: Have fun with the results of government "controlling" anything, including rent.

      Full timers also keep the parks open with their revenue - Most parks would not survive without Full Timers. There is a reason they keep adding more and more annual spots at these places. Waiting for a "vacationer" doesn't pay the bills. Something to think about.
