My husband and I picked March 1st 2021 as our first day RVing 95% full time. Then Life happened and I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Feb 2021. We did a few mini trips, but knew everything would stop soon. After a months of this and that appts and major surgery I am 100% cancer free. Now we are trying to decide when our next selected date to carry on our dream of RVing full time.
6/26/20 was my first Shakedown Trip - and first night staying in the RV! I live in TX and headed south then looped back up for about a 1 month mini trip. Then I left in Aug & headed West - north to south and all in between. Came home for about 2 months - pet sitting & working to help friends. Then took off to the East! I made it back to TX to help other friends in March 2022 - and wanted to do all my Dr., Dentist, etc visits. Well, that's when I found out I had breast cancer too. I've been staying with a friend for about 9 months now! Two operations, 4 Chemos, 20 Radiations, and who knows how many dr visits & tests that were done! I am hopefully cancer free!!!!!! More tests need to be done in March, so I'm planning to get back on the road and head West again in April. I'm getting excited and so looking forward to it! I full time by myself. I'll take it easy - go slowly - and enjoy the RV life once again! Tammy Picket I hope you are doing well, stay cancer free, and enjoy the RV life too. No rush - enjoy the journey!
Well wow, your story and ours parallel ! We had house on market And truck trailer bought, and I was dx with breast cance, but had to stay in province for 6 months then hubby got tired so we sold it all. Sold house moved an hr away. Now we are sorry we did but are debating ft or part.65 and 66 and getting lot of flack on too old to start that now..
1 May 2031. Retiring at age 57 after 21 years in the Air Force and it will be 13 years Federal Service. Cant wait for my wife and I to hit the open road in our 5th wheel. Thanks
We are starting September 1st 2024 . We are going where ever God wants to go . Everything is almost gone in the house . Now we are living in the RV on the property till we leave so we can practice and get some trips organized and learning APs and watching a lot of TH-cam videos .!
Our launch date is September 1st 2025. My husband plans on retiring at age 62 on June 15 2025. We have started purging slowly but surely! We have a class c now and plan on upgrading to a class A and then selling the house. Love your channel!
We retired in 1995, hubby turned 45...our goal was 40. We travelled in the coach for 3 years, invested in income properties which were paid off in less than 5 years. When he turned 50 we started to travel on motorcycles all over the USA. When my mom began to need more care...we stayed closer to home, I went back to work so that we didn't have to spend savings for medical insurance coverage. In 2013 we divorced, sold our forever home of 40 years, I bought his ownership portion of the rentals. Bought a used RV so that I can do weekend escapes until I retire again. Love traveling in my personal home (RV)!
IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT! 😂 We started watching you in 2020, then followed you to NRVTA, started our own successful RV Tech/Inspector business & have been Fulltime RVers for almost 3 years now. Thank you, Phil & Stacy!
We are going full time 6-1-2023. My husband is converting a van . I am retiring 5-31-2023. And we are going to hit the road. Excited to join the 40million.
There are many different ways to approach full-time RV life. For years I’d scoffed at those crazy people who sold it all and hit the road, never dreaming that I’d ever be one! But then we bought a travel trailer in 2016 to just go camping as the whole “going out to the bathroom in the middle of the night” thing just wasn’t very fun anymore. Did at least 1 2-week trip each year and many shorter trips, which gave us the first notion that full-time RV living really might not be so bad and could be viable for us. We absolutely loved traveling with our trailer! So when we started the wife’s retirement planning in earnest we also did a deep dive into evaluating whether or not to try full-time RV life and the conclusion was YES, we want to do this! My wife gave a 1-year retirement notice to her employer in March 2020 and we started searching for our retirement rig, which our pull-behind trailering experience led us to conclude was a large 5th wheel trailer. Quickly we learned that our 3/4 ton truck was too small for our needs and spent 2 months finding the right 2 year old 1-ton dually truck. Then we engaged a “trailer concierge” to help us sell our 4 year old trailer and find a new rig. His industry knowledge was invaluable to steering us toward options that were truly suitable for full-time living. With his advice, our trailer sold to a private party within 4 hours of listing for 90% of the original purchase price (much more than we’d expected!) and his final negotiations on our new rig with the dealer saved us another $5K. Nothing but praise for his counsel and advice! So we picked up our new rig from the dealer at the end of June 2020 and decided on the 500 mile drive home to sell the house sooner rather than after retirement and picked October as the magic date. We sold the house and everything in it - 3 huge garage sales and a final estate sale to clear all the big furniture and last of the house goods - and moved into the rig October 17, 2020. This was absolutely the rip-off-the-bandaid approach to downsizing, but it worked well and was best for us. Challenging to be sure, but no regrets. And our 3 adult kids all were excited for us and actually thanked us for getting rid of all that stuff! We knocked around local RV parks for 5 months while the wife finished up working and 4 days after her official retirement in late March 2021 we hit the road, heading north for a long-scheduled service appointment for miscellaneous minor warranty work. Which was a good thing, as we made it almost 20 miles down the road that first day before the bottom fell out of the rig due to an undiscovered water leak… but with the help of a great mobile technician we were patched up and back on the road in about 3 hours. In these 2+ years of full-time RV living it’s been an amazing journey that has really only just begun. We’ll finish our first full circumnavigation of the USA this coming March, and should visit our final state in the lower 48 by July 2023. We love the road and the RV lifestyle and will continue as long as we physically can. Looking forward to meeting you sometime on down the road.
Could you please put a link or a website to further research "trailer conciege" services, as we are in a similar circumstance, appears may be beneficial as resale seems to be slowing down as compaed to 1 year ago. Thank you
You hit the nail on the head. We started full time April 2022 after 5 years of planning. We sold everything and have learn a lot of tips by watching your videos. Thank you! I have traveled via air for the last twenty years and (don’t laugh) the only thing I would not get rid of is my massive collection of Starbucks mugs. We spend a month in one place then move to the next as the wind takes us (We love getting to travel to the 3 places our adult children live the most! We would never get to see them as often as we do without this lifestyle!) I have always worked remotely so the move to the road was no big deal. My wife retired from teaching, but hopes to find some side job to do on the road eventually. I over spent on my internet with top end hardware and data plans to ensure connectivity. I learned it was not necessary and now use Starlink and a cheap Verizon and ATT as a back up plan. We are only 7 months in and don’t regret the switch. Went from 3000 sq. ft. to 400. Every night we say how much we love our tiny home!!
SPOT ON!! This lifestyle is pretty awesome!!! I collected Starbucks mugs from every place I visited overseas when I was active duty. My daughter has most of those now.
Bloopers were an unexpected and hilarious touch to an already fantastic video. I am nearing retirement and my wife and I are starting the process to full-time RV. So glad I found your channel. I am sure that we will be watching all of your videos and accessing all of the resources.
OK … I have to say, Phil and Stacy, you are the two most likable full time RV’ers I have ever seen … PERIOD! I just love you two! I want to thank you for all of your videos, and the input you’ve provided for the masses of potential NEW FULL TIME RVers! The info you share is priceless. I just turned 62 years young, purchased a Tiffin Allegro 32CA, and plan to go full time in January 2023. I’m ready! You are correct in stating that the most difficult thing to pull the trigger on, is getting rid of STUFF! OMG … It’s killing me!!! But, I’m at peace with moving forward, thanks to both of you. You’ve convinced me that it IS possible with a little discipline. Thank you for that! I will keep you posted on progress, and I hope to see and meet you on the road one of these days. God Bless! And … GO AIR FORCE! LMAO! 😂
This is a great video of information to prepare for fulltime RV. We purchased our class A 5 years ago and launched 12/11/21. We have traveled over 40K miles and stayed in 28 states so far. We have 2 more states before returning to Florida for the winter.
My wife and I went full time about 4 months ago. The hardest thing was getting rid of all the stuff we had and the house we had lived in for 16 years. My mother who had lived with us passed and our youngest son who lived with us bought his own house so we decided to down size and move into a smaller house. We love to travel and spent a lot of our travel time on a motorcycle. (our last motorcycle had 133,000 miles on it when we sold it). The motorcycle was the one hardest thing it was for me to sell. I've been riding motorcycles for over 50 years but because of my age finally decided to give it up instead of getting a toy hauler. Also my wife nor I really liked the floor plan of the toy haulers. We are in Missouri and will be until after thanksgiving then we start heading south to warmer weather. We do have a plan to go back into a sticks and bricks when or if we get tired of the RV life.
This week is an EXCELLENT weekend to not be in Missouri. My sister's family is in your home state and they are below zero this week. It is so hard to let go of the fun things in life. I gave up my motorcycle in '09, Husband may be this year for full time RV'ing. My sewing/quilting studio will be hard for me to dismantle. Safe travels!
Started RVing in 2016. Toe in the water. FT RVing 90 days after I pay off my truck. Few more years ahead but lots of time to prep. For now weekends and lots of dreams.
We sold our house and hit the road in June 23, 2020. We are both retired. Our goal is to visit every state. Usually we stay at places a week or more. Sometimes we need more time if we need a break. I never realized how much work it is to plan and decision fatigue is real. The worst part for my husband was selling most of his tools. We love the RV life but have decided to find a home after our third year and after visiting all of the lower 48 states. We want to continue to travel in our RV, just not full time.
We put over 20k miles on our well maintained bumper hitch in 6 years. We loved it. Many week long trips , several 2 week trips, a 12 night nomad trip, 2 6 week traveling trips. Husband retired early, we rested and apent time with friends and family for a year. Then started to olan a year on the road. Within a week our beloved camper was stolen off our property in the middle of the night on December 1. We are now searching for a new rig. Excited to make a sound purchase and activate our travel plans, hopefully between April 1st and September 1st.
You guys are amazing for this thank you!! Also when you said as you can see we are ready for dec 10th I GASPED lol that’s my birthday! I came to this vid bc next year spring I will be leaving in an rv. Manifesting and putting the work in saving up to get one!!! I have wanted this life forever but everyone around me always stopped me! So now im ready! It’s my turn! Thanks again!❤❤
Pick a date: Aug 16, 2024. We bought our our RV a year ago this week. We wanted to have a good chunk paid off when we go full time. We have already started to downsize. We have been working with our financial planners for several years now since this is our retirement dream. We try to go out once a month plus our vacation time so we will really know and be comfortable by the time we hit the road. Here’s to making dreams happen.
June 14, 2023! We are so excited!! Thanks for the great tips. So many emotions. We are purging (have been for a year now but we've been in our house for 24 years!!), we have the RV, we have finances in good order, same with insurance. It was such a relief watching this that we were on the right track. Thanks so much for giving me a little peace of mind. And congrats on that beautiful grandbaby!!
I have been full-timing for 15 months and can’t imagine ever going back…even after two Canadian Winters! I used to be handy. Now I am REALLY handy. The biggest frustration: finding out that Lithium batteries don’t charge below freezing! The solution (after hours of inspection and emailing the solar manufacturers and battery manufacturers): a $50 heating belt. Runs off your generator or inverter and raises your batteries’ core temp above the freezing point so they will accept a charge from the panels. Can’t wait to host you guys up in Canada, this year.
We sold our house and started full-time in our new 5th wheel RV on Oct 14, 2022. You two have been our primary source for tips on RV living so we thank you much for your service to the RV community! We are both retired but I still work part-time on contract for the company I retired from. We stayed in our home state in Ohio in state parks to wrap things up there before leaving, but we pushed it late into the cold part of the season and started experiencing our first cold temperatures and even snow fall. Luckily our RV is a new design and seems to handle the cold temps really well. We're headed south right now to Florida and will spend the winter there. As for purging and downsizing, we made the mistake of doing that within a months time! We had a 2800 sq ft house. Most of our stuff was put in a storage unit. We sold some stuff in a garage sale and to the home buyers, donated to Good Will, and threw away other stuff. It was a nightmare, but we got through it! We are Steve and Perri and we have our own small travel channel called Adventures Ever After which we'll most likely be transitioning content and posting our own full-time RV living adventures there. Maybe we'll get to meet you in person someday!
I watched a video that recommended to Either staring sleeping in your RV in your driveway or a nearby camp ground to get used to camping and find out what you need in the RV that you may not have thought about. Then as you get used to it plan trips further away and for longer periods of time. The more you get out the more your able to by or purge. Always keep two rolls of quarters for laundry, and vending machines in case of a craving. Zip lock laundry soap in load sizes, Keep well stocked first aid kit, heavy trauma band aids and gauze.
Ive been purging for a year. I plan on keeping a storage unit for a little while for when I do finally settle down or until I’m ready to part with my large decor pieces. My absolute biggest fear is driving. I have never driven anything larger than my crossover SUV and learning how everything works. I’ll be on this adventure alone and thankful for the Internet.
4 years, 47,000 miles, bought a 2019 tiffin Open road 34 pa. Have loved the RV lifestyle and have no plans to stop. My wife said she kept waiting to be sad while packing up and getting rid of all of our stuff, but it never happened. We sold our house of 27 years and love being in our rv. Our home campground is in the mountains of North Carolina, grandfather campground in Banner elk North Carolina, but we travel all over the country and end up right back here at the end of each trip because we have two grandsons that live 10 minutes away. It has worked well for us, it may not be for everyone but when I retired I wanted one more adventure and boy is this it! Love your channel hope to someday meet you both, take care of the best, Tim..
We have been preparing to go full time for a year now. My husband will not set a date! It drives me crazy. We have a casita now but plan to get a larger trailer for comfort and mobility. We love our casita but, too small to live in for us our work and lifestyle. We can travel and stay in casita for 7 to 8 weeks. We do it 3 x a year. Time to grow and start living! We have had 4 garage sales. Its hard downsizing but, at the same time very freeing! My home has items in it I never knew that I had. God bless all.
I sold my house and bought my RV in August 2022. And I am going to NRVTA in January for the RV Technician course. I am super excited for the next year of the new adventure 😁. You guys have put out a lot of videos with the info I needed to make this huge change. Thanks Phil and Stacy 😁.
We are out Texas and about start full time next year. I cannot thank you enough for all the valuable information you have shared over the years. You guys are great. ☺
It's my dream of full timing, but my wife isn't that much on board. She is partially disabled and thinks she couldn't handle it. We did last winter go from south central BC to near Gainesville FL. And we did very much enjoy the trip. I made sure anything we did she was able to do as well with either her walker or walking sticks. The one thing is being Cdn, medical down south does become a huge thing for us and trip insurance only covers if you get hurt or sick. With that said I still believe that by selling our home we could full-time 4 to 5 years before it would be time to hang it up depending on our health. I did say you should come to Alberta and BC but one thing I didn't say was fuel costs are through the roof. Here right now diesel is 1.789 a litre which times by 3.8 you get a US gallon. But you are using the US dollar which helps. Camp sites are about the same with the exchange rate where it's at right now. So if you come to the northwest north of the border then. " Welcome to Canada EH."
End of May 2023. I think if you are still working it makes sense for that state to be the domicile. We are going full time hoping to serve alot on this journey
All good advice. We started planning 6 years ago. Ordered our truck yesterday and fifth wheel is in production now 🎉!! That blooper reel had us in stitches 😂
My retirement date! Sept 14, 2023. 10 more months!!! Downsized ✔️. Out of debt✔️Made an RV budget ✔️I have money to buy a good, used RV ✔️Still working and saving for my emergency fund! And I already live in Florida ✔️I am getting so excited!!!
I looked at Travel Trailers today. My day is April 2024. I have already started downsizing. So beyond excited and scared. More worried about hooking up the sewer lines and things. Going to be stationary for at least 2 years.
We sold everything and went on the road 2 years ago in a truck camper. We love it! We move almost everyday! The hardest thing for us was being away from the kids but technology is wonderful! Going so small was hard for me at first but not for my retired sailor 🙃 Would not change a thing!
Our Day is April 2023. We have been purging for a year, still purging,Sold the big house, renting till the big Date- and hope to run into you on the road
We started watching you in 2020. Helped us in buying our first RV, a Tiffin Allegro Red, in December 2020. Did 3 shake down trips in 2021 and hit the road January 2, 2022. We decided not to sell our sticks and bricks. We are fortunate to have good friend of son living there year 1 and our son and his wife will live there year 2. Your advice has been the inspiration and saving grace during our travels. At this point plan at least 2 more years!
We are going full time in May of 2025 and this video was very helpful. My husband is also going to become a certified tech and I think I’ll look into the inspection thing for him too!
We went full-time in July 2022. It has been great!!! We would not trade it now. I work full time on the road, and my husband just fishished up RVTAA, both tech and instpector. We do still own our sticks and bricks in Castle Rock, Colorado. We are renting our home to our oldest son and his family. Business is great. We just left NRVTA Sunday and already 2 jobs. By the way, we love your channel!! The husband just retired early!! Yes!! Today is Someday!!!
@Laura Victorious you need excitement and drive it works. We put in a lot of fun hours. The business we own today as compared to the few others we have owned, hands down so much fun, and we get to meet great friends.
@@jimlundeen8103 I just finished NRVIA today. I still have loads to learn but I'll enjoy the learning and happy to have finally found something I can be excited to pursue.
My partner and I are just waiting on our house to sell (the feds are really making that difficult) We have already sold most of our stuff, picked out the RV we want and made plans for when the house does sell. We'll see you out there.
My husband and I are planning on going full time October 1, 2024. He will retire July 1, 2024. We already have our RV. I purchased RV Maintenance course. We haven't started it yet. We plan on doing mission work throughout the country and visit friends and family. We don't know how long we'll be able to keep doing it. We will both be in our mid 60's then. Our plan is to sell our house to one of our children so we will always have a place to come back to.
Full time as of 8-Jun-22 once we both retired and rig came off the production line. Started planning and downsizing almost 4 years prior, while still working. Even so, we still had more “stuff” that we thought we’d need/use, but haven’t touched yet. Downsizing is an ongoing effort. We didn’t know what we didn’t know, until we knew. 😁
I have been planning for over 2 years now. I have watched 100hrs of TH-cam and read so many books and blogs. I will be prepared I feel. We are in mid thirties and early forties. So excited
Full time since May 2022 and on the road since September 2022. Wife and I both work remotely, are moving around to visit family and friends, and like to stay for a month and move on. Nice to meet and chat with y'all at the 2022 Tampa RV Show.
We enjoy watching your videos and sharing in your journey. Rhonda and I went full time over 10 years ago. We are still loving it and have no plan to exit from it in the near future. We live in a 2005 Beaver, Patriot Thunder that now has almost 140,000 miles on it. We are living our dream, it’s definitely not for everyone. Next stop, we left Fredericksburg, TX for a California winter. We journey on. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! 😊🌞
I’ve been full time since Jan 2022- I had done a ton of research and thought I got the perfect rig for me- well after almost a year- I would like to have something slightly bigger! I didn’t sell anything- it’s all in storage! I didn’t want to sell, get out on the road and find I hated it! Now I’m headed back and will spend 2-3 months clearing out the storage unit and selling items. I will likely still have a storage unit until I upgrade my rig to something bigger
All good info! I'm glad you included the "Mini trips". 5 Years ago I bought a 1973 Shasta 20' pull behind camper at a Real Estate Auction for $40, I didn't know why at the time and parked it next to my shop that my GF and I gutted and rebuilt during the Covid lockdown because we both have show cars, I have a 66 International Hot Rod pickup and she has a 65 Plymouth Belvedere and 2-3 weekends a month we are driving 3 plus hours to go to different shows here in the Florida/Georgia/Alabama area and it's a lot cheaper a whole lot cheaper to just tow the camper with the truck I'm driving to the show anyway and pay $15-$20 a night at a state/national park then pay $100-$150 a night for a hotel room. Last year (year 2 of having it done and spending long weekends in it) we decided to go from here in Jacksonville Beach to Biloxi Mississippi for 9 days and realized that with a couple tweeks to camper we could live full time in our camper so we started the plan, I'm retired from the Army and I already work for myself, I own a Custom Bobber (Motorcycles) Shop and she works HR for a hospital and is 3 years from when she can retire early (at 50) and a year before that so that's when were going to do it, were going to sell our house and pare down to 1 bedroom rental then close to the 1 year mark, then were going to sell both our hot rods and buy a new/newer truck to haul the camper and hit the road and just live in State Parks a couple weeks to a month at a time then move on. You gotta do it in steps to see how you can handle it and make it work for you, You can't just jump in with both feet and hope it works out. We have always lived simple so it's not going to be that hard for us, Our house is only 1200 ish sq feet so we never lived "BIG" anyway.
Sad and liberating at the same time. That’s how we felt after selling our home. Covid affected our travel and new grandchildren. But we soldier on, and now we are traveling. I think it takes some of us time to figure out what needs to happen before we can travel. Like a hip replacement or repairs on the rv. All the things mentioned in this video as well. Thanks
Full time is kinda starting on the 24th, moving south working remotely, retiring at end of the year and picking up ETCS in a couple weeks in your old hood when she gets off the boat, we should have been out there already but she got mobilized 2 weeks after we bought the RV.
Oh boy. I thot I was good to go. I had watched video after video. In my past life at one time or another, I had 5th wheels, a gas motorhome and a diesel pusher, so I thought I was a-ok. Then I hit the road & OMG!! So much anxiety, stress, apprehension, you name the emotion- it was front and center. I wanted to quit instantly. Every drive day I was a bundle of nerves. But, after 2 months things have eased back a bit. It’s still nerve wracking, but it’s getting better. I will say I’ve already decided (87%) I need/want a different set up. I signed up for a Rally before I hit the road and just finished it. It is something I would recommend a new full timer do. Meeting so many other RVers that has been very helpful. Thank you for the videos and your service to this country. Safe travels.
My wife and I are in the middle of our planning now. We’ve already decided on an RV and have put a deposit down on it to pick up in April 2024. We started the purge a few months ago but have hit a wall.😂 Luckily, we don’t have a problem putting things in storage. We have not set a date yet but we are looking at May 2024. Thanks for the helpful videos!
Thanks so much for the trivia game ride today and the prizes. Loved meeting both of you and having some fun. Thanks Phil for your service. Go Navy. Lou and Jean Madonna
A friend of mine uses the “Dollar in the Tank, a Dollar in the bank method to save for a vehicle emergency fund. With todays prices, you might use .50 cents in the bank.
The hardest part for us was leaving our home of 25 years and my medical. I can’t stress the medical enough. When you have any medical condition that you need regular check ups it can hamper your travel plans and how far from your doctors you can go. I have to go back to Michigan for semiannual check ups and need bloodwork done every 3 months. This makes planning harder but not impossible. Since I am not old enough for Medicare I am unable to go to doctors in any state. This is something you need to consider while traveling. Does your insurance allow you to seek coverage in any state because many insurance plans are state specific.
Our date is 10/1/2023! Although it will be 6 month RV , 6 month home for now. This allows us to spend more time with our family and travel before the typical retirement age! We plan to work the 6 months at home.
We have been on the road for 2 years full time. Our reason was we wanted to show our son all 50 states before he graduated high school. And my tip or advice that I would give is if you are thinking you want a 5th wheel or a travel trailer. Go big on the truck if you can. We got a Ram 2500 and we are limited on what we can pull. Wish I had know and gotten a Ram 3500 . Don't over look your payload, towing is important but the payload that is key to what you can pull. Also don't wait till you can afford the best or the biggest just start small if that is all you can do. This is such an awesome thing. I wish we had started sooner.
Its our 3rd full time year sort of. First year we full timed as permanent campers at out local campground then went south as a snow bird and for the summer months its still home base in PA. 2nd year we didn't use the house and it turned into a dust bunny so last summer we sold the house and contents. We had the Kids and Grand kids get what they wanted "that also took care of inheritance issues no hard feelings or misunderstandings and TAXES". We had a auctioneer come in and she and her crew did a wonderful job. Do you home work but the auctioneer can make or break you like any good sales person can. She got us way more than I could have and they did all the work. And Phil I had been a licensed Mechanic for many years and watching my tools being sold hurt. Its been a great journey so far even with blown tires and oil changes its been Our Someday. As for Bills and Banking go electronic but don't trust public WiFi use a hot spot from your own phone you wouldn't use much data and it a private connection. We are retired one of the kids addresses we use for mail and its shipped to us . This year is a little different with the higher fuel prices but by staying for a week or even a month the camping rate drops quite a bit and Harvest Host/Boondockers welcome pays for its self and America the Beautiful pass card was $80 (One time cost) that payed for itself the first year. Hope we meet during our travels. May God Bless Gerry and Deb
My wife and I have been talking about it for awhile now and I believe so will be retiring at the end of this year and we decided to do the RV Life to see the US, and potentially find out where we may want to move to next. Been living in California since the early 70’s so pretty much all my life and am ready to leave this place behind with all the taxes, etc. It is getting too expensive to be here anymore. I hope one day we do get to meet you both as I have watched your videos and of course Changing Lane’s videos.
Good tips. We had the date, budget and initial route plan. Lots of research but it's fun. We had a small camper while working to keep us motivated to continue working until our date... we wanted to start earlier! Lol. Thanks for sharing.
Great advice. My wife and I retired last year in September, hit the road in October. Your are correct that RVing is not cheap unless you want to boondock the majority of time, and that is difficult in the Winter. This is our our second winter and decided to stay in Arizona, Mesa area. Still cold and expensive. We found out that we love the traveling aspect of this life, but living in it full time is a challenge in the winter unless you go to Mexico. We are currently purchasing a small home in Colorado as a base for the winter so we can enjoy the holidays with our adult children and grandkids and travel to destinations on the shoulder seasons, summer in Colorado and take the kiddos out RVing within the region. We didn’t know that unless we launched and experienced it for ourselves. We will now have the best of both with a Balance. Thank you so much for all your videos and advice. Go Army Beat Navy 🤙😎
Our journey will begin May 1st 2023. It has been a dream for quite sometime and finally coming to fruition. We purchased our fifth wheel home Solitude in September 2022. Because we currently reside in Canada, we will only take delivery of our new home in April, weather permitting. Let's just say "we are extremely grateful to make this our reality". Selling our home and belongings has not been easy. But, was it worth it? "Absolutely"...following our dreams...The Forbes

That is awesome!!! Congrats on beating it!!! Re-group and geet back at it. Hope to see ya out in the wild soon!
CONGRATULATIONS ON KICKING CANCERS A$$$$$$$$$$!!!!
Get on the road and REALLLLLY FEEL BETTER.... Sending you love!
@@suel9191 congratulations We had same experience, i was dx with breast ca
I’m curious, how is it going?
Nice! Way to go!
Go Army!!!! My new full time life starts January 1, 2023!!!!!!!!! 3 years in the planning.
Yay!! Congratulations.
Some of the best advice I've heard in a simple way with websights to back it up. Usable, free, research.
Love the Bloopers. Hahahahahaha
We are in our eighth year of Fulltime RVing.
Thank you
We are moving into rv soon. We will move in to rv I'm less than 3 months and stick close until the kids last year
You hit the nail on the head.
Glad you enjoyed it! Welcome aboard!
We planned for 19 years and have been full timing for 6 months, 9000 miles, 16 states and 10 national parks so far this year!
After 2+ years of watching you guys, chad and Tara, and Kyle and Renee, we finally dove in Feb of 2022.
We wish we hadn’t waited so long!!
That is awesome!! Glad you made the leap!!
LMAO! 😂
Thanks a ton! We try to have fun with it and give enough info to pique the interest of those who want to join uss on the road. Go Navy!
Yes!! Congratulations 👏 go AF!
I’ve been watching these two for a few years now. We bought our Rv in 2021. We’ve learned so much from you guys. Thank you for your videos. 😊👍🏽
Our pleasure!
18 months FT, hardest downsize was photo albums, now have digital photo frame inside RV..love it
We are giving ourselves one year to get on the road full time. Our date is September 1, 2024!
Not long now. It was the best decision for us 5 years ago!
This is a great video of information to prepare for fulltime RV. We purchased our class A 5 years ago and launched 12/11/21. We have traveled over 40K miles and stayed in 28 states so far. We have 2 more states before returning to Florida for the winter.
Been full time for 5.5 years all by myself. No end in sight!!!
Us too!!
I think the hybrid approach is the way I am heading. Half the year full time RV living and half the year living at home.
Great information and so helpful and the bloopers are 😂😂
I recognize that camp ground!!! Such a cool place!
Selling the house. Full time here I come.
You can do it!
Being full time in an RV for almost 2 years, filling up & dumping my black tank is the trickiest part.
Our day is march 1 2023 we cant wait we starting out in a skoolie we building out ourselves
Slow and steady wins the race. Have fun with it.
Congrats!! You are gonna love the lifestyle.
We hit the road full time May of 2024. Selling everything! Sooooo excited. We have been RVing for 30+ years and just love it😎👍👍
Congratulations
Been three years and two fifth wheels , thanks to ya'll and Chad and Terah
I watched a video that recommended to Either staring sleeping in your RV in your driveway or a
nearby camp ground to get used to camping and find out what you need in the RV that you may
not have thought about.
Then as you get used to it plan trips further away and for longer periods of time.
The more you get out the more your able to by or purge.
Always keep two rolls of quarters for laundry, and vending machines in case of a craving.
Zip lock laundry soap in load sizes,
Keep well stocked first aid kit, heavy trauma band aids and gauze.
There are probably lots of laundromats that still use quarters but we have come across several that have you buy a card or use an app. Seriously!
6 years. Saving up. Started purging. 2024 is going to be my first no buy anything that isn't true necessity
Ive been purging for a year. I plan on keeping a storage unit for a little while for when I do finally settle down or until I’m ready to part with my large decor pieces. My absolute biggest fear is driving. I have never driven anything larger than my crossover SUV and learning how everything works. I’ll be on this adventure alone and thankful for the Internet.
hey, how’s it going? I was just wondering I’m getting ready to do it solo also!!
We have been preparing to go full time for a
year now.
That is awesome! Have fun in Athens! They put on great training.
I'm at the NRVTA now. Here's a hint--watch as many of the tech tip Tuesday videos as possible before you go there. It will help.
I'm planning since my thirties to be full-time rving and I only have 3 and a half years left....so January 31st 2026... can't wait
The kids retirement through me over the edge 😂 I’m going to start purging. Thanks! 🙏🏽 see yah on the road!
All good advice. We started planning 6 years ago. Ordered our truck yesterday and fifth wheel is in production now 🎉!! That blooper reel had us in stitches 😂
Yay! Yall are so close
I ordered my truck today. Great minds think alike. Now my wife and I have to settle on one of 2 floor plans.
@@jarredcleem5028 it’s crazy how these steps are making it seem soooo real😳
That is awesome! Go Navy!
We've been on the road full-time for just over three years but I remember the prep like it was yesterday!
I'm at NRVTA now so I'm glad to hear it's working out for you. I'm counting on it!
I just resubscribed. Changing Lanes crew said your channel lost subscribers. I checked my subscription and yall were not there. Glad they informed me.
We picked July 1st 2023. We're almost finished getting what we need from the house. Thank you for the video.
We started July 2021 and haven’t looked back. Sold all things and had plenty on yardsales before we moving out.
My partner and I are just waiting on our house to sell (the feds are really making that difficult)
We have already sold most of our stuff, picked out the RV we want and made plans for when the house does sell.
So excited
Slow and steady wins the race. You are on the right path to make it super exciting!
October 15, 2023! We've been planning for 5 years and it's finally in sight!
We have been full time since 3/2021 and loving it
Full time since May 2022 and on the road since September 2022. Wife and I both work remotely, are moving around to visit family and friends, and like to stay for a month and move on. Nice to meet and chat with y'all at the 2022 Tampa RV Show.
My plan to full time is by the time I turn 60 in 2 years and 95 days. Great video learned a lot. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and wisdom.
We haven't even bought our RV yet. We're committed though.
We were the same way!
You and other RV full timers encouraged us to go full time over two years ago. We love it. We both work full time from our 5th wheel.
That is awesome!
Thank you so much!
I’m not going to rv full time, but I’m to to use all your suggestions to get rid of of all my “stuff”! Thank you!!
You are so welcome!
Hello from space coast Florida 👍 first time here #happily ever Hanks channel. Already pick the day... Thanks for all the amazing tips
November 18, 2022 was our first day!!! It’s hard getting into our rhythm. We will get there.
I want to visit the beach’s!! I have already purged so I’m just waiting for my youngest child to get there house so I can go!!❤
We sold everything, are renting the house and weve been full time now for 8 months so far.
Our date was 1 December 2000. We stayed full time until May 2004. We still own two 40ft 5th wheels and I spend about 200 nights in them.
That is a great tip....attending a rally! We met our RV besties at a rally!!!!
My husband and I have been planning and preparing for 2 years now. Our plan is to hit the road by June of 2023!!
Congrats!! April is right around the corner!
October 15th 2024 is our FT date. We purchased our class A and our full hook up property in NW Montana. 7 months in Montana and 5 months on the road..
Right around the corner!!
Thanks for sharing lots of helpful information for sure. I have been thinking about full time but convincing the wife may take some time.
Glad it was helpful!
Our date is 10/1/2023! Although it will be 6 month RV , 6 month home for now. This allows us to spend more time with our family and travel before the typical retirement age! We plan to work the 6 months at home.
July 27th! I am excited and hella nervous 😂
How did it go?!
Great advice!!! We wish we had started sooner as well.....with our kids!
Had to re subscribe after you changed names, glad I found you guys again! Love the blooper outtakes!
So are you full time RV life now?
Our journey will begin May 1st 2023. It has been a dream for quite sometime and finally coming to fruition. We purchased our fifth wheel home Solitude in September 2022. Because we currently reside in Canada, we will only take delivery of our new home in April, weather permitting. Let's just say "we are extremely grateful to make this our reality". Selling our home and belongings has not been easy. But, was it worth it? "Absolutely"...following our dreams...The Forbes
