CONGRATULATIONS on the 9k! A meet up wouldn't allow us overseas to meet up! Love the outfits. Those pjs are gorgeous and I agree there's gaping in the back of the lemon top which is such a shame because it's very pretty. So glad you're being so productive in the sewing room. I have a half constructed cashmerette club murcot vest calling me but cannot get to it right now - hopefully soon as the cold weather is still indicating winter in this neck of the woods - it was 1 degree on the way to the school bus on Monday morning!!!

I love Friday pattern company patterns so keep looking more closely at your saltwater slip dresses Ruan. So pretty on you and I adore double gauze. I make bias binding all the time for my quilts so can't imagine it's that different for sewing garments. Always go to see you. Look forward to your videos. xxKaren

So productive! Hie about a TH-cam live party for the celebration. One day I think I’ll be the only person in the sewing community that hadn’t made a Zadie, I love it on others I just don’t love where the crotch wrap is for me.

All lovely makes but I think my favourite is Faustine top. I love the square neck in the back with the pleats, I'm thinking of drafting a similar top but with those details in the front and some short sleeves.
It's such a lovely patter isn't it. Think I'm going to give the short sleeve version a go too 👍

I've used Dylon dye before for my Marguerite dress and I wear it so much now, in fact I've since dyed it again 😄

I have some navy blue dylon that i've had for mannny years that I really need to use! Yours came out so well. Such a good way to use fabric you might not 100% like.

I used to hate making bias binding buuuut since having the right tools I don't mind it at all. The tools: rotary cutter, quilting ruler, cutting mat, bias binding tool to pass your strips of fabric through. Voila!

I am actually wearing my posh nightie. Made from that double guaze. I wanted it for hospital, when I got my new hip. First time using that fabric

Gorgeous makes. I saw your lemon top on Instagram and loved it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the pattern, another one to add to my wish list. It’s also good to hear that the instructions are so clear and easy to follow. As a professional translator, if a translated text sounds a bit off, then it hasn’t been done by a professional 😉 I am also a Zadie fan, the perfect garment. I love the idea of double gauze pyjamas but I‘m not sure how soft they would be with repeated washing in hard water. And like you I wish Tessuti would expand their size range. I love their aesthetic ❤

Excellent video Ruan as always. What a busy bee you have been and the garments made are all fabulous. I love your Saltwater and your Tessuti dress but the Faustina in that gorgeous fabric is a show stopper! Love the image of you in Italy sipping Lemoncello. Such beautiful makes. They all look fabulous. I just wish all these pattern manufacturers would draft up to much larger plus sizes too. I am tempted to make a saltwater slip seeing how you wear it with the ties wrapped around to the front.
I totally agree! Things are definitely getting slowly better but there is still work to be done. Go for it with the saltwater 😊

Your garments are really gorgeous and I always think you look very slim. Hope that’s not too personal a comment. I’m very aware that my waist (32 inches)is totally out of proportion to my bust and hips so I have to grade out ,then in. I avoid waisted garments for that reason but you give me hope as think your waisted garments look fine. As always a great vlog Ruan . Thank you 🙏

Well done on the 2 m zadie! I also am in the larger sizes and know this is a major accomplishment! I love biased binding, we aren’t crazy, it’s fun!
I was absolutely determined 🤣 Glad it's not just me with the bias binding but I do tend to burn my fingers sometimes!

Love your makes 😊. I just finished a quilt which I love. I am going to retake my measurements because I don’t have a real shape, a gift from my surgery from last year. Also, I’m sensitive around my abdomen, again surgery gift. I am looking at more loose fitting clothes. I am starting to sew again which I am excited about. Les Lubies de Cadia (the fads of Cadia) are wonderful patterns- you'll find how tall the model used to create the pattern on the website info for each pattern at the bottom of the finished garment size. Hello Ruan, lovely makes as always! Well done for your 9000 subscribers. On the description of the Faustine pattern, Cadia indicates that she drafts her patterns for 1,68m which is I believe 5 ft 6. So you were bang on with your added 2 inches for the top 👌

I like doing my waist bands like you did, by sewing it onto the fabric then flipping it and sewing in place the elastic doesn't roll when I do! lol That bright floral slip dress, OMG Gorgeous! I still think the lemon top would make an adorable shift dress for summer!

I think all your sewing is great and that lemon top looks very beautiful. I love cotton lawn anyway but I love the back detail in particular, with those pleats! Your tessuti dress fabric, I have a dress in that too and I think it's cotton linen. It's really nice to wear in the heat as its lightweight. Thanks again Ruan for an entertaining vlog once again. I love the material you’ve used for your Claudia dress; I keep seeing it in Fabworks and other places but it’s been too narrow for the projects I’ve been working on - must try harder to use it as it looks great on you. I love Tessuti patterns too. The family that own the shop come from a fashion background with Italian heritage so I think they use a lot of continental techniques that are just so nifty. I’ve been lucky enough to shop in both their shops and the ladies who work there are beautifully dressed in their own makes and are so helpful and enthusiastic it’s an inspiration to shop there.

I think Les Lubies de Cadia (that is probably wrong) should give you commission! I have now made my Faustine top in the black lemons and love, love it - all thanks to you. I also adore Tessuti patterns. And have made quite a few. Your makes are great and you are so helpful - hence 9k viewers and climbing.

That flower fabric is just fantastic. I’ve got my first saltwater in daisy fabric on my machine at the min, bust darts and side seams are next before that binding

Your makes are all beautiful. I agree that Tessuti has some innovative construction techniques and the finishing is great, however, I have made up two Tessuti dress patterns and both are failures. They just do not fit me and it's difficult to know what size to make, due to the excessive ease they include and that they don't always provide all the finished garment measurements. Sadly, I don't have anyone that could help me fit it.
Yes I know what you mean! I made the Hazelwood top by them and that was very successful as not a lot of fitting thankfully!

Faustine on the website says drafted for 5’5” as you suggested. Cadia is 5’3” but why she tells us that I don’t know. The pattern is beautiful and I’ve never seen it before
