It would be cool if you did an episode where you take a beginner and teach him how to drift. Maybe some people can relate to his problems with drifting and learn from that :)
I’d love to see a video guide about how to tune for different types of driving (grip, drifting, and drag). It would really help out both new and even some older players!
Check out HokiHoshis videos he’s probably got the best tuning tutorials on TH-cam, remember tho it is a learning curve and you won’t get it immediately
Hokihoshi has done videos on different tune types, think there’s a few more he’s yet to do but they’re really good, his drift one also goes a little more in depth if that’s what you’re looking for
Hey it's your cousin. So glad I found you here on YT. Haven't been able to reach your phone since that day you came over to help me with my racing game. Did you turn off your phone? I was worried that you were avoiding me because of that secret stuff we did that night in Dad's bed where the Xbox was. (Don't worry. I kept it a secret just like you told me) Also your drifting technique isn't as good as that one thing you do with your toes 🤠. Love ya, cuz!
This is becoming my favorite Forza channel. If I just want gameplay I normally watch Grandma Driving but this is my go-to for commentary over gameplay and this video just makes it even better. Thanks DUBS.
Allowing for some slip - just past the edge of grip - where the rear tires are still pushing you mostly forward can be useful in road racing. You aren't losing a large chunk of speed like a full drift and you can essentially manipulate the nose at will as opposed to being constrained by the limits of your tire's grip. I only mention this because learning how to drift first will make this so much easier to maximize.
Drift turns are slower. Your post is just an excuse by an average racer who regularly enters corners too fast and is trying to sound like it's intentional and not a sign of piss poor ability or understanding of racing lines and correct cornering technique. Noob...
Yeah, carrying a small small angle (just a few degrees) through a corner is often way faster because it lets you enter the turn a tad faster and carry more speed in general. That's the best tecnique in togue racing and what takumi actually used in initial-D. Or at least that's what i've always known, correct me if i'm wrong
I've been playing Horizon since the beginning but drifting has always been the monkey on my back. After watching your video I got my first 3 stars in a drift zone. *salutes*
I've been playing racing games since Turismo 3, I love the Horizon franchise and I can say I'm above average when it comes to all mechanics, BUT. Drifting was my weakest link in every racing game, this guide astronomically helped me get better and actually feel improvement and makes the game feel bigger for me, I appreciate you and this guide my friend. Cheers
If anyone didn't entirely understand counter-steering, another way to look at it could be: front wheels need to point the direction you want to go, basically (not necessarily the direction you want the car to face). The car might be sideways, but if you still want to go forward; point the wheels that way. Everyone learns differently, and this is the explanation some of my friends found the most helpful.
This is good a really good spot on this game for learning how to steer through corners is in the track near the main festival that hokihoshi showed in his video
I’m having trouble with the round about. It’s not that I’m spinning out but always end up straightening up no matter how much I try and going to the center.
@@phillipg9275 Might just be the car not have enough power to keep the angle. Usually the only way to solve not having angle, is either steer toward the round-about to bring out the tail, or just MO POWA

I'd love to see a top 5 video of your favorite cars/tunes for drifting. This video has helped me tremendously going from trying to hit 3 stars on the zones to working my way up the leaderboards.
Fh5 is my first forza game and i started playing it with anti lock off and simulation on the controller and I love it, especially when drifting or slipin
Thank you for this, I understood how to drift before and I am "okay" at it. But I still struggle with the points and 3 star side of it. But even so, thank you for making this video, I now understand what torque and how to feather the throttle properly!
Learn how to brake tap and get more angle with it it's going to be very tricky at first but the ammont of angle that comes with it is totally worth it and also if you dont already play with manual with clutch and learn how to clutch kick for angle as well
Know this was a month ago but how I learnt on fh4 was pull the handbreak at full speed then try keep the car straight untill it stops then progressed on to round abouts try keeping a continuous circle going up and down the gears learning how the rear reacts to gear changes hope this also helps
Really manual with clutch is perfect for drifting , holding the e brake and being able to rev the engine freely are very helpful also , clutch kicking is a viable skill in this game if you want to have fun drifting
@paint by number it’s easier because you only have to steer the car and accelerate and brake so 3 inputs , manual with clutch adds the ability to use the e brake with out the engine bogging down the engine also it’s 7 inputs or buttons with the analog stick .
I want to drift that car where the huge back spoiler moves when you turn. I think the angled downforce would help keep the back end out longer. It seems like the car is quite light with plenty of grunt.
How does the whole point drifting concet works? What gives you more points? Is it better to go fast or slow for more points in a drift zone? Is there a difference between drift zones and Online Open drifting? I think a video on this topic can be really usefull abd interesting

Hey thanks man! I have a g29 steering wheel and im getting FH5 on black friday and i really needed this! Thanks You! Btw you videos are great, keep it up :)
On a lot of people videos ive seen the bar going into the red next to the speed and staying their. I dont know for sure but i cant tell if he is pressing down LB at all. If anyone can tell me that would be greatly appreciated.
What controller do you use and what buttons you use for shifting im going to be using xbox X controller and i wonder what button should be the best for shfting
Finally I can get to delivering all this tofu I'm glad to see you help out the struggling/new people. For the people who are stuck on automatic shifting; start by doing some drifts in manual. Over time you'll learn when to downshift and i'm pretty sure you can't stall cars in Horizon games so it's fine. It's how I learned in FH4 and now, I have all the bitches and a big pp
@DUBS It's probably a long shot asking in a 1yo video but: Do you have to use the clutch with the handbrake? When I use the handbrake in my game, the car stops accelerating completely even while I'm pressing the throttle trigger, and then it starts again shortly after. That makes it difficult to slide sometimes. So what I do is I always hold the clutch before pressing handbrake. Is that normal? I don't see anyone saying that ever
question: i am indeed drifting but like, i mostly turn into the corner instead of counter steering, bc if i counter steer it would make my car straighten out, and throttling wouldnt make my back end sway out. is this a car build problem? or is it another thing
What I'm having trouble with is that Sometimes the wheel feels like it has some feedback so you feel it and have a moment when taking the corner to drif but there's times when I try to drift the corner and the wheel just literally turns all the way and comes back so it throws me off and I just spins out. I have tried several tutorials setups and I just can't get the hang of it but but if I'm drifting in the controller that's a complete different story I do know how to drive it's just the wheel it's a bit harder
I learned alot from this even tho I consider myself to be a pretty good drifter I've ben drifting since fh2 but I still leaned some stuff with angle and what not the one thing I struggled with for a while was throttle control and still kinda do but this helps with that
I think drifting pn controller is quite easy when you have the roght car and kinda got the basics with shifting, finding out what geara is best for sliding but with a steering wheel i think it is wayyyy more difficult than with controller. But that is just my opinion
I remember before I was able to drift, I used to play on automatic and that was the biggest mistake for drifting. Please, PLEASE don’t use automatic to drift especially when the needle is repetitively hitting the rev limiter. What this does is that the game make you stay in a lower gear that won’t give enough power through the wheels for the drift to keep going. You’ll end up sliding a bit and not being able to keep sliding.
I try playing on auto a few days ago and it’s just so much harder even for normal racing. Learning manual is so easy but the advantage is so massive, the only reason I can think of to use it (along with assisted braking and steering) is if you have some kind of disability that would make it so you can’t play enjoyably
I find it quite easy to drift with automatic transmission and using awd as I find I can't drift rwd cars or use manual. I just don't find it enjoyable to use manual and honestly I don't want to even think about shifting up or down. I just want to drive without worrying about that.
Everytime I try the car just goes with the steering wheel, doesn't spin out, doesn't drift unless you hold the E-brake, and doesn't spin but instead just doesn't turn. really please help
You actually dont really need a tune just upgrades such as power enough to spin the wheels and keep em spinning 500-900 drift suspension and drift tires
In your next top 1000 video, would you be able to do the boardwalk danger sign? I think I got a good sore, but it’s hard to tell if it’s actually respectable. Love the vids man!!!
What's crazy, is that I never noticed that I have Traction Control on until this video. I guess I just happened upon tunes that sort of negate Traction Control. Either that, or FH5 physics are a bit wonky.
Well when you’re holding the e brake and you accelerate your car is technically in neutral just as it would be when you’re pressing in the clutch so when you let go of it then it’s somewhat a clutch kick you just can’t do it freely without the e brake
What are people opinions on manual with clutch vs manual without clutch? How much of an advantage did the clutch give you? Also, how does DUBS not have a button for going straight to the map, because when I have no button for it it wont let me save because 'required keybinding are missing'...
AWD tunes also send power to the front which means in some cases less counter steering. This also means you’re much faster around corners compared to the rwd cars which sometimes you don’t want
It would be cool if you did an episode where you take a beginner and teach him how to drift. Maybe some people can relate to his problems with drifting and learn from that :)

AWD tunes also send power to the front which means in some cases less counter steering. This also means you’re much faster around corners compared to the rwd cars which sometimes you don’t want

And drifting on wheel can be a lot smoother if you are good on a wheel
