I must confess I‘m a tool guy who‘s been looking with light envy at your ratchets since i’ve discovered your channel, many moons ago.
Living in Europe so not making myself any dreams of getting them and at a reasonable price… The 3 key factors with these is that a. they’re uni-directional. This prevents integration of some directional switch, causing it to be less tough/sturdy, b. the well visible mechanism allows it to be greased properly, reducing wear, and c. they mechanism is seemingly a bit overdimensioned for a tool that size, allowing higher loads in principle, so assuming the materials and build quality are of high enough level, these things are ment to last and will with most last a lifetime when treated well ! And that for 9,99….unbelievable 😳🙄
For those feeling left out…. a bit more expensive but what through the years became my best option… the ratchets with the push-through pin on which the nut is put. Unidirectional as well, the ones i mean tend to have a closed housing and just need some light oil every now and then on the outside to prevent rust and keep them going. I can recommend strongly the RAHSOL one, a cheaper brand from GEDORE which doesn’t sacrifice on sturdyness, just finish, or Gedore themselves. My oldest is from 1990 and has been abused a lot. including using log steel pipes as extension, full-on hammering with a 5 KG hammer on it, etc. What rusty cars and lack of knowledge & better tooling make you do as young adult ;)
It still lives, even if it has minimal play meanwhile, has been loaded well beyond 600 NM’s for certain and has become my sort of lucky ratchet [GRIN]
If anyone knows better alternatives, happy to hear, never too old to learn !

Andrew, Love your videos! So how many pieces of hvy equp do u have? I have lost count! So 7 excavators, 3 skidd steers, 2 or 3 loaders, 1 D4 Dozier...that big orange fork lift spectacular handler, 1 Ford 18(?)HP tractor, all kinds of implements for skidd steer & excavator. I assume you have most of them out on jobs,rentals,leases...+ 2 dump trucks, Dodge diesel pkup truck, several trailers to haul your HD equip...wow! It's just amazing to see how fast you have grown & how effective you are at managing/operating your equip for the tasks at hand, but also simultaneously operating the overhead Droan to film your work real-time & have time to show all of us your fine dogs, Levei & Cody. You are a pleasure to watch!!👨‍🔧👍😁 you are very talented! Enjoy your Blessings!👍😁

Great job as always, Andrew. One little tip - Popular Mechanics Magazine did a test of bolt looseners and the top dog winner was a 50/50 mix of automatic transmission fluid and acetone. The ATF is used only as a carrier for the acetone. Shake each time before squirting from an old soap squeeze bottle. It will eat through rust like a miracle.

His skills as a videographer have improved along with his equipment- as well as his ability to drive anything with wheels or tracks, while steering with one hand and a holding a gimbal stick with the other!
