Over covid I basically turned into an alcoholic. Was drinking a litre of gin every second night. I started mounjaro and it’s completely removed my desire for alcohol. I’ve also lost 2 stone in 3 months.

Third week of Mounjaro. First week injected in stomach and first 3 days nauseau. Headache that subsided after Tylenol. Takes the appetite away. Have had difficulty eating. Made terrible mistake eating fried chicken and terrible upset stomach and nausea. 2nd week injected in thigh. Diarrhea for 3 days, couldnt sleep for running to bathroom. Stomach hurt. Trouble eating again, just not hungry. I ate better end of week, couple days before 3rd injection. This week, not as much nauseau or diarrhea. Learning ways to eat. Trying small meals. Drinking more water. Finally weighed and I am 211 from starting weight 221. Needing nutritional help with to eat and not to eat.

Sorry you're experiencing those issues. Yes, please stay away from fried and greasy foods. They're not the best when your stomach is getting acclimated to the change. Diet is SO IMPORTANT with your journey! The changes you make while on it will determine your success. Remember you want to make changes to help with the rest of your life! Not just the next few months.
You're doing the right thing by incorporating smaller meals. Smaller and healthier foods will help. Soups, Noodles, and Porridge are all foods that will be lighter on your stomach and what our staff has had success with eating if they're experiencing issues. If the issues still continue try drinking hot or warm water.
Glad you're still losing the weight! Please keep us updated! What dosage are you taking?

Interesting. I guess you could imagine this drug as amplifying the effect of food. So it makes you feel like you ate 3x as much. Now imagine eating 3x the portion of fried chicken and nothing else with it. That would make anyone sick.

Thank you. Just purchased the medication from a weight loss clinic, since doctor won't cover it, even though it is now approved weight loss drug by FDA. I wanted reliable information and I thank you for providing me with the information that I needed.

Thanks for the content! Currently taking off label via a prescription from my PCP that my insurance company refused to cover. Been on it 6 months now and currently taking the 10MG shot every Sunday after starting at 2.5 MG., Started at 270 and I am 215.6 as of my last weigh in. I still have a ways to go, but making excellent progress. The high cost from Lilly Pharma is really a killer though and my budget is stretched to the max to swing paying for it. With virtually no insurance company willing to help unless you are type 2, there are lots of people out there who could benefit from this drug but simply can't afford it.

@catherinemenzies606. I did similar Catherine and my weight stalled, be careful. I lost 18 lbs in a month and haven't lost a pound in almost 3 weeks. You've got to not only fast but protein and fiber and exercise, which is hard for me as well. I have much more going on than a bad back ( no disrespect whatsoever intended) as I know how very painful that is

In my 5th week, now on 5mg. Not diabetic but was obese. Lost 10lbs already! Abit if nausea and heartburn, slowed down my digestion and only start feeling a little hungry right before the next injection is due. Remember to drink lots of water and eat high protein.

So I’m on my 2nd month of mounjaro and 3rd week of 5mg. This 3rd dosage of 5mg took me tf out! projectile vomiting and diarrhea over a 2-3 day period complete exhausted me. No sleep etc etc .
I’ve learned to not eat oily foods with this medication the hard way but nothing prepared me for this past weekend . But I am down 30lbs …. I’m 6’2 and was 379lbs when I started early Sept and when I stepped on the scale today (10/28) 348lbs….. but I don’t like being sick…… wasn’t fun at all!

In my first month on mounjaro for obesity 2.5 mgs I lost 42 pounds with strict keto and cardio!
My medical provider was astonished and said there’s a possibility I may be a super responder …
He did share with me the danger of losing too much weight too fast, so I probably won’t be doing that anymore …
This medicine is beyond game changing it’s a literal pharmacological paradigm shift…

That's an impressive achievement in your first month with Mounjaro. It's great to hear about such positive outcomes as your provider advised, it's important to proceed with caution to ensure weight loss is safe and sustainable.

I started Mounjaro, going on my 3rd week, so far so good, for me has been reduced appetite and cravings, sometimes some light diarrhea, haven't felt weak and i started seeing positive changes, will start incorporating exercise to help me keep tight while loosing my extra weight. It sits well will me as well to help me reverse any starting insuline resistance that comes with the overweight. Glad i found it and will see how I keep evolving on this journey. My question will be when do u know is a good moment to stop taking it and the maintainance afterwards.

You should stop taking a week before your surgery. You can then resume 2 months after your surgery, but confirm all this with your surgeon.

It can be an unexpected side effect with any medication, including Mounjaro. It's important to report this symptom to your healthcare provider, as they can assess its cause and advise on the best course of action, ensuring your treatment remains safe and effective.

It sounds like you're experiencing significant side effects, potentially due to interactions between your medications and Mounjaro. It's crucial to discuss these symptoms with your healthcare provider to adjust your treatment plan for better management.

Our job as plastic surgeons is to help our customers reach their aesthetic goals. Every day, we receive calls from patients who are looking to lose weight. While we can offer surgical procedures such as tummy tucks and liposuction, we understand that they may not always be the answer. That's why we provide plenty of non-surgical options that aren't considered traditional 'plastic surgery' because they can help you achieve your goals. We are strong advocates for Mounjaro because our employees have seen real results from it, and it's something we want to share.

Fight weight loss? That means prevent/try to stop weight loss, though. Also it's not 'agunist' which is not a word, it's 'agonist'. I am sorry but I would not trust a DOCTOR who should have a Ph.D. who is this unable to properly use language.
