The reason why Eminem fans are so annoying is because they think lyricism is everything whenever that was left back in 2008 and they refuse to accept it.
They have a diluted sense of what HipHop should be or what it should sound like, and most of them are white speaking on a black genre talking about what 'HipHop should be'.
Eminem is a dope artist, very lyrically talented, easily in the top 10 of all time, but he's corny now, his music was meant for an era IN THE PAST, nobody is PROUDLY bumping the dude rapping about r*ping women, killing his mother, chopping off heads, or whatever other demented thoughts he raps about, its corny and creepy, it was meant to appeal to try-hard teens and young adults, it was wild and crazy for its time, it was the new wave of Punk Rock or whatever else dudes were hopping on, but now, it just screams 'social reject'.
Its one thing if you listen to it Ironically and are aware, but enjoy a blast from the past, and its another if you listen to it and defend it.
Eminem wouldn't have the reputation he has today if it wasn't from Dr.Dre, G-Unit, and his beefs, but it doesn't magically void the music he put out.
Yes, he has tons of solid hits that AREN'T crazy lyrically, but its not the majority of his content at all and not what he's famous for, but its also why he deserves a place in the top 10 IMO.
Eminem is just an artist that most people 'grow out of', and its just the truth, but some haven't gotten the memo yet, and those people are incredibly annoying because they refuse to accept reality.

@@no-vk2qe I saw comments at an old D12 song I went back to listen to and I was so thrown off. They were talking about the D12 albums being two of the best EVER in hip hop and were downplaying anything almost any other rapper ever made (like Jay Z).
I was amazed by how distant from the hip hop culture and history they are.
But I was not shocked since I remember myself being a bit caught up to that "everything associated with Em is the only real shit ever" loophole as a kid and I am so happy that I got out of it quickly.
As someone once stated he is the perfect hip hop entrance artist but it is sad when people do not move forward from him and stay close minded like that.

Revival is just a bad album all together. There are genuinely bars that he has that have deeper meanings and entendres but bars like that are just him being weird and messing around.
As a Kanye fan, I think as a collective, we should stop harassing Fantano about MBDTF and move on to his Yeezus review.

I used to work with a guy who ONLY listened to Eminem. Like he literally had no interest in listening to any other artist or band. Whenever I would let him pick the music at work, it was ALWAYS Eminem. One time he asked to pick the music, and I told him it had to be something other than Eminem...he sat there fumbling thru Spotify for a few minutes, and then put on Yelawolf 😆😆

This is from Not Alike, a song where he's targeting mumble rappers. With proper context, I actually think this is pretty funny with him saying that he has absolutely nothing to do with them and that's the only similarity he shares with them. To each his own though.

I revisitted some old D12 songs I like and stumbled across comments stating that their albums are two of the best ever in hip hop and stans were attacking every other rapper like he is whack compared to Em. Insanely ignorant and cringy stuff.
I was a huge Em fan growing up and I know from inside what that fanbase is like. I just hope most grow out of it some time soon (mostly not the case though).
Grow out your talking about a world wide fanbase not most are liks that its just that the toxic ones are way more active fkr the most part when it comes ro some things.

thank god i grew out of it. i remember back when i was 12 the only thing i was listening to were eminem singles and i thought i was so cool 'cause i was listening to that good lyrical "real hiphop". every word my friends said, i would always relate it to an eminem lyric or a fact about him. i'm just happy i got to explore more of hiphop and learned how hiphop isn't just about how many words and rhymes you can fit in a second
I'm a die-hard Eminem fan but I feel so vindicated seeing two creators talk about the awful behaviour of the fans.
I love Em and I will rep him till I die, but some of these fans are too much sometimes. Im playing devil’s advocate here. They can give us, other fans, second-hand embarrassment with the way they act. I’m almost sure most artists don’t want their fans acting that way cause it ain’t helping no one. I guarantee you Eminem wouldn’t get half the hate he gets if the fans who act that way just chilled tf out. People aren’t gonna like some projects and others are, it’s all subjective, and most importantly it’s not that deep in the end.
I'm also a die-hard Eminem fan, but to this day, I still can't fathom how a lot of these fans can say that Music to be Murdered By is anything more than mediocre, when that's all it is really. I also find it baffling how some of them would even go as far as to put it in their top 5 or even top 3 Eminem albums.

I really wanted to love that album, but for me it's 7.5 to 8/10. I think some songs were a bit too long. Like Runaway, I didn't think the ending was necessary. Also I think the album started off really strong but had a mid 4 last songs. I didn't like Hell of a Life (even as a Ye fan, I don't fk with him groaning in my ear), the outro to Blame Game was weird and threw the vibe off, even though it was a great song, and Lost in the World was kinda mid. The rest were really good songs imo.

As a former eminem stan I can tell you that no matter how bad some of his music is the stans will never eat it up and tell you it's better than any other rap song created.
That’s the reason Em is still putting garbage music out filled with the flipity dipity Statue of Liberty rhyme schemes, because of all the yes men in his corner, and the Stan’s being amazed he can bend words backwards, it’s impressive..but repetitive. The average Eminem song now consists of either fast rapping, or trying to cram more than 300 bars in 4 minutes.

Fanbases who keep you written up in their little black book and take every chance they can to take a shit at you even when you haven't done anything bad in months being the worse is so true, and its not even exclusive to music.
Almost every fanbase is gonna have a few obsessives like that who treat any bad word about the thing they like as heresy as if the need to defend the honor of something/one who doesn't even they exist, but when a your entire fanbase can safely be broadly *defined* by their tendency to not only immediately dogpile on every even slightly negative opinion on their thing, but hold a deep personal grudge over it like the person shot their fucking dog and pissed on their wife, there's a genuine problem with the average fan and the fanbase as a whole. K-Pop fangirls are a surprisingly still very relevant example of this.

I am a former Nemnem stan honestly. I had that dumbass period where I just blindly ate up everything Marshall said, no matter how dumb it was because I did love his old albums, hell I still do. I will say, I still think that Marshall's 1999-2003 run is one of the strongest hip hop runs out there. But it's exactly what Shawn said, when I critiqued Kamikaze on some forums, saying that I dislike how he lacks humility, how he's overly petty, obsessed with dumbass corny puns etc. I would get crucified by "you probably listen to Gucci gang" comments.
People say shit like "you already knew you were gonna hate it, so why even click on it", but it makes me sad that I don't like Marshall's new music, it genuinely makes me sad cuz his old music meant so much to me. When you pile all of his songs up from first three albums, you have the collection of 43 tracks, plus you can add at least 20 more from the songs he didn't release on an album during that era such as 8 Mile stuff, No Apologies etc. and in those 60ish tracks, I'd struggle to find a single one that I dislike. I find some of them eh at worst and now he released an album with 36 tracks, and I only thought 4 of them were solid. It's sad honestly

As a massive Kanye West fan, his fanbase is downright abysmal. They can't even respect EACH OTHER for one second. You can't even mention your favourite album or song of his without getting completely annihilated by being crapped on by his own fans, that too for the dumbest possible reason: they disagree with you (and act like their opinion is objectively better than yours). Eminem BY FAR has the worst fanbase out of anyone in hip hop, maybe music in general. His stans are absolutely insufferable and half of them don't know anything (outside of Eminem) about hip hop at all. They'll also call you a hater or even a racist if you don't agree with them that Em is the God/King/messiah of hip hop. They are awful man.
Eminem's fanbase is just the biggest which would make it seem more toxic, but in terms of percentages, I feel like it's the same as else's. You're always gonna have toxicity in any fanbase but annoying is all Eminem stans are for the most part, it's not like they're doing wild shit like threatening death like some others do. Eminem's fanbase is completely divided anyways, you have people that only care about his old stuff, or people that think his new stuff is better. You got people that absolutely despise revival but then have people that think it's one of his better albums. Eminem fans only collectively attack people he disses (MGK, Ja Rule, Benzino) aside from that they're never band together at least from my experience. And the Em haters are just as annoying as his most toxic stans, you can literally go to any Eminem video and find one purposely trying to get in arguments with them lol. There are definitely some worse ones imo
