This looks incredible! I love to use Guinness in my cooking, but this is a great idea that I'll no doubt try in the future! Thank you for the amazing inspo! :)
Them conditioners are not from dollar store, they have them at dollar general. Just for everyone to know. Love that you are showing this soap again. Im making for a show in October. 😊
Such interesting facts. I thought adding beer was just a novelty thing, but you gave reasons why one would make a beer soap. Very cool. Your bars turned out delightful! Also, the music you used was epic 💕 -Shonna
This is awesome soap! I made some Guinness soap and its almost cured and I can't wait to try it lol!! I used juicy pear scent in mine and it kinda smelled like apple cider at first lol, but now it smells like pears.
Hola Ellen!!, me gustaría que acá en Chile tuviésemos los ingredientes de alla,, acá hay que recurrir a la imaginación jaja!, me encantan tus jabones y cremas!!!
Hi Ellen, love watching your videos......over the years making soap I have found that an ice bath is much more effective if you start off with some icy cold water in with the ice , instead of just ice in the bowl.....not sure if you do that as hard to see on the video......just thought I’d mention it .... I haven’t made a beer soap in ages and now I can’t get it out of my head...lol....better add it to my list ...lol....thanks for all the videos ! You have come a long way from your first video , it’s been fun watching you make soap and get more confident talking to the camera etc 😀
Thank you so much Becky, you're sweet and encouraging🥰! I do put water in the ice bath too, I think I put it after I video taped, so it wouldn't slosh around😉
Stunning soap, Ellen! 😊Thanks again for sharing. I have non-alcoholic beer that we usually drink with our barbrques as we are just getting out of summer her is RSA. Gonna use some to make soap. It"s a really good non alcoholic German beer👌
Not for this particular soap, but you can use the beer method in any good recipe. Here is a video where I share 4 great soap recipes: th-cam.com/video/SO5n4uWEVO0/w-d-xo.html
Have you ever tried making a ginger beer and honey soap? I’m going to try that tomorrow because I’m curious about how the ginger smell and if it will be retained in the soap. It would smell divine!
Hi Ellen. Have you ever made a Bourbon soap. I had a request for bourbon barrel scented soaps. Just curious if you have ever used bourbon whiskey as an additive.
@Ellen Ruth Soap From what I have read. Batter sets up fast after adding whiskey. I wonder if you held back a few ouces of oil with 1 oz bourbon to dilute it a little bit then add it then hand whisk it in. That might not set up as fast. I am just guessing. That's how i do my pine tar soap. It seems to work with that.
You have some great recipies. I'd love to be able to buy some of them. Is there any chance you've thought about selling them or compiling them in a book?
Beautiful soap!!! Wait what did you put on the top? At first I thought you were putting glitter on it and I’m saying, “Ellen, no glitter on beer.” Then I saw the top and it looks great!!!
Hi, thanks for share this. I’m forma spain and my english os not ver y good, I don’t understand the ñame of the bronw powder you put un the two jars, can you please write me? ☺️👍😘
@@EllenRuthSoap it's a fabulous addition to virtually ANY recipe for the scrubby factor as well as de- odour-izing!!!😉🤝don't ask me how I know *that* part, but the scrubby bit takes off dirt and grease, even from a mechanic's hands yet still leaves them protected with enough callouses that *he* needn't worry, but removes enough that *I* needn't either!😉💞🤷♀️😁turns out *all* his farmer friends were buying the bars from him! He had quite a lucrative side hustle going on, while I was in treatment. 🤦♀️🤷♀️ I have cancer, and the tumour had finally regrown enough that my oncologist felt it *had* to be dealt with. The "dealing with" part was a two hour drive away, one way...so, my youngest daughter had just turfed her bf, and would be having a rough time making the rent AND working enough hours besides completing her college, me moving in and picking up the slack on the rent would allow her to *not* have to pick up the extra hours of work and simply concentrate on doing well in her studies. So..win/win! Apparently win/win/WIN! HE'D come down weekly, taking home several dozen bars with him. I 🤦♀️didn't give it a thought... but HE had a waiting list for as many bars as he could handle, and bring out at every weekend! All in all, he set prices MUCH higher than I'd have even attempted! (HE checked Ebay 😉🤦♀️, AND got away with telling his customers, you're not paying "shipping"...) So he was raking in well over a grand each weekend. Probably *several*, the way he had other GUYS signed up! Probably the whole thing about having smoother hands...🙄💞 apparently men *Will* do just about anything to impress their wives!😁🤷♀️ who knew?💐🦄👏👏🤺
@@EllenRuthSoap gotcha👍I've heard mixed stuff about edible sprinkles used for soaps but yeah its usually just sugar so like you said a sugar scrub, thanks for replying and I hope you're well
OMG!!! I love the smell of warm beer!! I am the daughter of a brewer and this smell reminds me of my childhood and the vaulted cellars of the brewery. I do not like to drink it, but the smell is heavenly for me 😍. Actually a shame 🙈. I come from Bavaria - here beer is considered food 😂.
You are adding a lot of ingredients not in your recipe list. the colloidal (?) mixture I watched it a few times don't understand that process there. did I miss something?
My absolute favorite to make use. My face loves it! My other is Papaya and 3rd turmeric!

Love all your soap , because alway think about skin health, and you use a lot natural color
I bought some Guiness thinking my husband would like it. I was wrong so now I can use the left over beer on some awesome soap. Thank you for the demo
It makes fabulous soap❣️🍺
Guinness in a bottle is terrrible! Have him try Pub Draft Guinness in a can this St. P's Day! (but the other is great for soap of course lol).
Love tne darker swirl and the foam on these. Great job💫
🥰 thank you!
They are really cool looking and the sugar pearls make it look like little bubbles. Super cute Ellen.
Thanks! That is exactly what I was going for with the pearls😘
So beautiful
Perfect for the men in the family, love it

Great idea! 👍 Can you use any kind of beer?
Thanks! Yes, I've made several different types of beer soap... Get creative!😉
This looks like a great soap. Will you please share the actual amount of each ingredient that you use?

😂🤣 glittery beer soap. It's tiny sugar pearls
Where do you order your stamps. Hard to find good quality. ❤❤❤ your video
There's a link in the description box😉
Would you be able to flatten the beer by shaking instead of boiling? Seems you have more alcohol for the lather that way.
You could do that, but would still have to be very cautious adding the lye with the alcohol..
Can you use sodium lactate with beer?
yes, but it's not a must have.
Would you explain the ice bath too or point me to a video about this. I have made soap in the past so not a novice but not an expert either
I put the lye pot in a bowl of ice water to keep it extra cool.
@@EllenRuthSoap What temp do you cool the lye mixture before you use it?
Where did you get the mold you are using in this beer soap video?
Workshop Heritage
Thanks, I'll check it out.. I got a bottle of Guinness Beer. I'm gonna give it a shot
What are the sprinkles you put oh topÉ
They are sugar pearls
Which dollar store did you get your containers with the scoop at?
Dollar General
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you so much
How thick are those bars you were cutting your beer soap?
They're about 1.25" thick
How my lye do we need for this recipe I can’t seem to see the amounts
Thank you

Another beautiful soap! Where do you get the sugar pearls?
Thank you 😊. I got those sugar pearls from the grocery store, but I’ve also ordered from Bramble Berry too 😉
