    What software will be used on the BCD260DN? I am interested in DMR programming, a slide with a preview of the fields for filling in the programming would be suitable. Will different alphanumeric descriptions be possible for different talkgroups on the same DMR One frequency?

    I think you hit the nail Jonathan. It’s for a specific demographic. I’m very happy with my BC125AT and I’d be very interested in getting the BCD260DN as a desktop option.

    FYI: Standard terminology..... When talking about connection points....
    If it is a female connection such as on the back of most scanners
    ie: speaker, recording, or power for car= DC, that is a jack.
    Jack = Female imput.
    Conversely the DC barrel connector you insert is a plug. Plug = male connector such as speaker, recorder 3.5mm plugs or barrel power imput plug.
    I've heard you use the terms interchangeably and sometimes confuse AC and DC.
    If it's in a vehicle it's always DC, unless it is a vehicle that provides a 110 Volt jack or socket.
    If one is in a building and plugs into a wall socket or jack, it is always AC unless there is a USB or special jack for some other industrial or specialized application.
    I enjoyed your presentation tonight and you do a good job. Keep it up.
    Cheers, James

    Its a great 125at upgrade. As a hobbyist, it really should have came with close call. Its a staple of uniden especially when going into a hotel blindly or a small business using walkie talkies.

    So, will the new handheld be better on DMR VS the 325P2? Hopefully the new radio will have a bettter DMR display than the 325P2.

    Any news on the official release date?

    So it can't do DMR "one freq". Not going to show or separate talkgroups? No RID/UID for digital? When rail starts switching, wont be able to NAME the rail units by RID?

    I may have to get the handheld for the DMR in my area, schools and businesses. Looks like this will be a great radio.

      It very possibly WON'T display talkgroups or Radio IDs.

    Looks like two nice radios. I am curious when uniden will announce thier flagship models?

    Is this going retro to 1994 ? If it doesn't have P25, to me it's useless as I have a Pro-2032 that has basicallty the same features.

    • @TheScannerGuys
      @TheScannerGuys  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That scanner in 1994 couldn’t do NXDN or DMR. So it isn’t the same. Yet again this isn’t a scanner for you. But there is a market for it.

    It's better to use an actual two way radio for listening to Railroads, picks up a lot better than scanners, just be sure to disable the transmit on railroad frequencies. After using a Kenwood NX-210, I refuse to go back to scanners!

    Missed the live stream, but would like to know how this new pair of scanners are regarding selectivity-sensitivity-reception/audio quality as compared to the bc125at as a benchmark.
    Thank you for all you do for the hobby!

      Thank you so much for the kind words. I really do feel these units seems great receivers. I’m a super fan of the base/mobile because it’s a 125AT in that form factor. Both are great on both analog and on DMR and NXDN

    I'm going to need a P25 phase 2 scanner when suffolk county LI police switches over someday. SDS is way out of my price range (like $400 out of my price range lol). Thought this might be it.
    This scanner is good for a beginner.

    • @TheScannerGuys

      Helpfully as newer models come out and older models go away. There maybe and opportunity to get a great deal on a model that being phased out.

    Great show, very informative. These look like they might have been the updated 125 series. Look forward to getting one as an upgrade to my analog only scanning. Plus some digital. Curious about price though? Any price range?

    I agree with most other comments. The sds series fell behind. No firmware update or anything. Still no word as to what the usb port in the back or front is for. The hum is still there. There's so much slack in it. I would prefer new scanners to use usb type c as that's now the standard that everyone is using instead of micro usb. The lan port should have been in the back it looks weird with a cable sticking out of the front interface of the scanner and then for the people that don't have it hooked to internet it just looks like it doesn't fit on the front. I love my sds200 but it could use improvement

    I was excited for it to have NXDN included until you said it wont handle P25 public safety NXDN, i have 2 SDS100's and feel for the price they should have included NXDN without a paid upgrade. Whistler was able to include it on their on their TRX series ,wish they would have continued scanner development theres no competition. I'll pass on these "new" Unidens.

      Railroad police in my area literally use a P25 trunked system to communicate with each other and local Police Departments.

    • @WXFD-Media

      It also won't be able to do "DMR One Freq" or "NXDN One Freq" ....... no tracking of talkgroups, or Radio IDs. It will just be monitoring a DMR frequency with multiple talkgroups, but probably won't tell you which talkgroup it is. All you get is Color Code

    What a frickin joke,. Its not filling a void, why even promote it for them when they cant even update the sds series after this long. We need competition so uniden can get off their butt and do something worth while. WOW

      This is a market for this scanner. As I said during the broadcast. This isn’t the radio for the heavy daily user like yourself.
