    Excellent video presentation….
    Thanks for uploading it!
I started off with a Regency crystal scanner back in the 1970’s when I was a teenager.
I would walk to the local RadioShack to buy crystals.
They stocked the local public safety frequencies and also carried the book with nationwide frequency listings.
I moved to a Regency programmable scanner after joining my local volunteer rescue squad and seeing the “sister” to the Regency.
It was the Wilson “front panel programmable” 10 or 20 channel VHF 2-way radio.
It looked identical to the scanner, just no microphone.
Things have progressed so much in the communications world in such a short time.
I became a “Ham” and continued in the public safety world and went through nearly every /\/\otorola portable radio from the HT220 on.
I now have the 536HP scanner and am more confused with programming it than an APX.
    It’s a “Boomer Challenge” 🤣
    Great Channel… THANKS!

I learned so much the first time. I did more research and now I'm putting it all together. Watching this one again.
I manage the Fire Department and we have APX400. The radios are on the Alaska LMRS system.

Alaska has 3 zones. Because I'm certified for CERT, Fire, Offshore fire and EMS. I also have my Incident Command certifications from FEMA. I've already done disaster work with FEMA, Red Cross, Salvation Army and the State of Alaska. I assist in at least one Medevac operation a month. I can coordinate as command between EMS, Fire, Law enforcement and the Air Med crew. I love these radios. I've even had to throw mine at a moose.

Thanks for this presentation! I was hoping to pick up specific P25 frequencies on my new scanner, but I’m afraid distance may be the issue in my case.

my city save me some money in 2023. I no longer need/want to buy an upgraded scanner, since they all went encrypted. Here in Texas, the City of El Paso and County have gone encrypted for Police, Fire Medical, Sheriff for their daily dispatch operations.

great video, speaking of busy tone, if a trunked system only had 4 or 5 frequencies and at one point all are being used by the buses, and a police officer or firefighter "keys up" will they get a busy tone or could the system drop one of the buses? ( I would assume that the system can be programmed)
