I'm grateful for this game and that Obsidian remains faithfully oldschool in the RPG space and doesn't attempt making a series which could add more strain than their games need, each game is essentially its own epic which is how BioWare once did their games.
I'm grateful for the 3rd person mode. I had almost lost hope because of the exclusive focus on 1st person until very recently. I held out hope only because Obisidian replied to a comment I made somewhere expressing disappointment at no 3rd person mode due to suffering from severe motion sickness. I cannot play 1st person. Their reply did not make promises but asked me to keep watching their official site for updates. That gave me hope.
I wouldn’t have bought it if it was locked into first person. It’s on my wishlist since they announced third person. I play Skyrim in third person too. I just like to see my character in most games, especially those with various armors and weapons.
@@DNye I think I just prefer it because that’s what I’m used to. Probably been spoiled by other RPGs and MMOs, which are mostly third person or have the option. I can’t really play first person games because I get bored easily, and negotiating obstacles feels weird to me.
@@CombatMonkey11B understandable, especially the negotiating obstacles point. I'm playing Fallout 4 again now and I have to use third person for some traversal because it feels awkward
The 40 hour playtime is disappointing especially since the game is gonna cost around 70 bucks... is there a new game plus incentive? what's the replay ability on this?
Now, don’t give me wrong on this, but I just wish the game was more open world It does look pretty good though obsidian should go back to the open world style type games like fallout new Vegas I think they see this is like semi open or like I know there’s an open zone in the game that doesn’t mean it’s like open world though just a hub area but you can probably like fight monsters, and or it could be your base of operations the Outer worlds wasn’t open world, which was all right only played a little bit of it. I didn’t really get into it felt like fallout a little bit but not really
@@DNye yeah they didn’t but you would think they would want to keep up with the times. Most other games of this type allow it. I just think they have been sloppy. And tbh I hate the look of the game. I will be playing Dragon Age Veilguard for the next 10 years anyways 😂
@@VivieneMara Exactly. It's just another reason that I think it was a mistake for Obsidian to use "The Outer Worlds" as their bar instead of being more ambitious with "Avowed."
I can't help but be disappointed with literally every single decision they've made with "Avowed." They have access to Microsoft's mega-budget financial backing and resources, and 100% total creative freedom, and the proper development time for a big AAA game, and instead of giving us the biggest and best game they've ever made with the biggest campaign they've ever constructed....they're give us an RPG parallel in scope and depth as"The Outer Worlds." THE OUTER WORLDS...Obsidian Entertainment's LEAST ambitious, shortest, most vanilla, and absolutely AVERAGE RPG they've EVER released. This is NOT what I was expecting or hoping for when Microsoft announced that they've acquired "Obsidian Entertainment." It's just so unambitious that it's BAFFLING. Instead of going full out, Obsidian decided that they're fine with just being a AA studio with no bigger ambitions with "Avowed." And all of this is coming from a life-long "Obsidian Entertainment" fan.
I adored the outer worlds, and if you didn’t that’s okay, but you don’t have to go big to leave a mark. I do agree Microsoft’s management of their studios have been atrocious, but obsidian is best at smaller but more hand crafted titles. It’s what they’re known for and what they’re best at. They’re not Bethesda
@@DNye it's just someone's opinion. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not relevant. I think a lot of the disappointment comes from the gap between what the original trailer promised and what we're actually getting. I still think it looks like a good game, but I'm not as thrilled as I hoped to be. That said, I liked OW and I'm still planning to play this game.
Unfortunately, Obsidian has become an utter joke of a company, and all you have to do is play the Outer Worlds to know this, which, although the game is kind of fun, is a WOKE fu*king mess. Therefore, after playing that, I have no high hopes for Avowed at all and even less hope watching their game play for it. The combat looks generic as hell, almost as bad as Vanilla Skyrim, and don't get it twisted. I loved Skyrim and played the sh*t out of it, but the combat was horrible, and on a console, you can't mod it, so it stayed horrible to the end of the game in both first- and third person modes. Obsidian used to be a great company until it was taken over by Freaks and after that, you got trash like the Outer Worlds which could have been so much better than it was in so many ways...So Nope, Maybe if they fix the combat and keep the WOKE shit to themselves, maybe it won't be a total flop. But you can bet they are going to play. Let's see how much Woke before we go broke will be game they will create. But who knows? Maybe these clowns will Wake Up before the game launches and realize that Woke sh*t doesn't put food on their table, but I doubt it.

It’s a cool addition that’s for sure
Oh interesting I stopped caring when they said 1st person only so long ago
Absolutely can't wait for this xbox series
It looks good!

November 12th seems pretty believable, so I'll be holding out hope for no delays.
I sure hope so too

We’ll have to wait and see when it comes out it. I’ll prob wait for a steam sale but I do that with most games nowadays.
@@DNye First time i got replied to! I'm subscribing just for that. Thanks!
Appreciate it! I try to respond to everything when I can.
Looks awesome
I hope it is!
Ok but i still want Pillars of Eternity 3.
That would be cool
Look on the bright side...
Yeah
It looks like a cartoon
The graphics look similar to their other games

An open world would be cool but the open zones does work well in their games.
Being able to romance them adds depth. Basically they just didn’t want to add those extra lines.
I don’t think they had it in the outer worlds either
