      But if you wash it again in the future there’s a chance of the dye running and staining it

      As a former screen printer, yeah. Just tie dye the shirt then screen print it.

    why dont you tie die the shirt, let it dry and thennnnn screenprint white? that would make all the testing obsolete?!

      You'd have to screenprint it quite a few times to cut through all of the dye

      @@jesusfreaklol1 You don't necessarily need to. White plastisol ink is opaque. You could get pretty good opacity on these colours with white ink in a single print.

      @@20vK if you swipe with the paint a few times and a bit more thick you will get good results. thats for sure. i often screenprint white on freshly bleached shirts.

    I would have just used heat transfer vinyl. You can cut it out with the cricut maker and use an iron to have the vinyl adhere to the shirt and the dye wont stick to the vinyl. You could even just dye it and out the vinyl on after

      Yeah but I personally prefer screen printed shirt designs over vinyl. The textures are different

    Your videos are relatable because you show when you mess up and have to go redo thing over and over. It happens to most but some people don’t show that. They make it look like they got it on the first try, then I try it. Doesn’t work and it pisses me off. You show when you ruin something and how to fix it. Makes me be like aaahhhh, I see. Cool! I like the honesty.

    Hey! I'm an art teacher and I am doing a digital art class with my kids this year. I was wondering if you can upload a video of your process. When it comes to printing the design on vinyl. What materials do you use, how do you get it to translate, do you need a specific printer, do you use other programs besides photoshop? My kids would love something like this!!

    My question is how long does this design stay on the shirt? Can it be machine washed? When does it crack? Do you think I could make and sell shirts with this technique?

      It usually stays on pretty alright. :) I recommend washing the shirt in slightly colder temperature and turned inside out. Might need some touching up with the iron once in a while if it starts to crack or lift.
      You can! I suggest investing in good materials for the longetivity and easiness.

    @shmoxd tip for your screen printing. It should have a gap between the frame and the shirt and it will release from each other. A lollipop stick or a coin on the underside of the frame on each side will give enough space for you to press through the paint but also when you've lifted up it will spring back away from the fabric.

    Here's the annoying comment, where may I find this type of vynil to make screen prints? I love screen printing but have only done some in a workshop where they had a special kind of plasticy paint? Or something? That is actually pretty harmful as it uses a ton of water to wash off. I like your method way better...

      He's uploaded 3 videos in one day, one of the others has him using a cricut machine (most people would probably just use a Stanley knife or other precision blade)

    Before you put the shirt on that cutout to add the print….put some parchment paper so the print doesn’t stick to the cutout and distort the image once you go to peel.
