Getting the rear window trim out, turns out my window doesn't need to be taken out, just some damage from water pushed the stainless pieces up. I guess you just use the T shaped tool to hook in and pry the trim clips. I put Por 15 engine enamel everywhere, it looks great, original Pontiac Metallic Blue.
Hi. No, I don't have any content on adjusting the glass. if you watch the video through. I show you which bolts you need to loosen and adjust in order to fix the glass so it rides properly. I'm still in the process of building the car. I will be making a video soon on removing the glass on the doors. Thanks for commenting. I hope you're enjoying the videos. All the best.
HI GUY HOPING U STILL HAVE THIS SET UP. I WAS WONDERING IF U CAN SEND ME CLOSE UPS OF THAT SPRING THAT PUSHES ON THE WINDOW WHEEL I NOTICED I HAVE THE BRACE THERE FOR THE SPRING BUT NO SPRING THANKS SCOTT ITS ALREADY BACK TOGETHER N WORKING FINE WITHOUT IT BUT IF I EVER GOT TO GO BACK IN ILL GET THE SPRING I HAD TO CHANGE THE ROLLERS THAT NEEDED THE SPANNER TOOL GOT ON EBAY UNDER $5
I haven't gotten to mine yet. I know some rivets you have to drill out, there's a couple different sizes. You need to get the right size rivet you don't know that until you actually drill out the rivet. I hope this helps. All the best
Classic Rewind it’s a 1972 Pontiac GTO 455. All 4 windows are power, power locks, AC, rear defrost and handful of other options. I know its pretty rare , I have the glass, just haven’t attempted to install yet
Top shelf. If I were you. I would take the panels off. See how the power motor is installed. I have a installation manual. I can look in there when I get home later on today and give you a better explanation.. I hope this helps all the best
Classic Rewind yeah, I will get the panel off and put my peepers on it. I have an original factory/dealer shop manual for it from 1972. The ones the pontiac dealership would use. So i will check in there. I just happen to come across your video
Thanks top-shelf I looked for my assembly manual. I can't find it. I must have lent it to a friend. I haven't gotten it back. The assembly manual should give you a option for assembly of the motor. I would do some research myself and see if I could find anything. Let me know what you find out, I will be interested to know how much of a difference if any. All the best my friend
Hi Erock, no I don't have a reinstall video.. there are two channels one on the left and one on the right that you need to align the rollers in. they are actually shaped like a T that's where the rollers will go in. It'll take some finesse. If you watch the video, I point out the T grooves that I'm talking about. Best of luck.
@@classicrewind2715 I just followed all your steps and can't get the glass out but my window sweep is still in as well as the top rail weather striping
Ok Erock. The weather stripping should not be a problem. The window should come out when you pull it towards the inside of the car. Not the outside. Did you remove the bracket that holds the glass in place it's the first bolt that I take out in the video if I'm not mistaken. It's up top next to the two bolts that hold that channel
@@classicrewind2715 I got it out, replaced the damaged roller and got it back in, your video helped tremendously, works so good now I'm going to take out what was the "good window" because now it"s the worst of the 2
Very difficult to tell unless you take the rear panel cover off. It could have been a number of things. The glass could have fallen out of the channel. Or the nylon wheels could have broke. it's very hard to tell without taking your panel off and looking at it. I hope this helps. all the best
Excellent video. Very smooth. No wasting introduction like most of the videos.
Thanks for the kind words. I hope this video helps you on your build. All the best
@@classicrewind2715 Welcome. Most of these wanna-be actors talk for ten minutes then get into the work.
really helpful. I pulled mine apart five years ago. thanks for the refresher.
Stop The Rust Thanks my friend. I don't check this channel that often. I've been really busy this summer. I apologize getting back to you so late.🍺🍺
Thanks for taking the time to document the how to. Helped me tons. 😎
Glad I was able to help you. All the best
Excellent video, very educating. I'm ready to tackle the job.

Thanks for the kind words. Just be careful when removing that window trim not to damage it. I put POR 15 in the tight spots with a brush. All the best

I'm away this week. When I get back I will look at the mechanisms and get back to you. Thanks for commenting and watching!!!
Yep enjoyed!
SantaClaus HawkeyeNJ thanks for watching Santa
Thanks Great video. Very helpful
Glad it helped you. All the best
on the side that you have open , it would've been a good idear to show everyone how the rollers operate on the vertical rail.
That would have been a good idea wasn't thinking of that when I made the video. I hope the video was able to help you. All the best
How do you get the rollers off of the window? Pin spanner?

Is this the same if you have a power window also?
Hi. What type of car do you have? I don't think they made power windows in the rear in 64-74

Do you have a re-install video for this? Is there a trick to getting the rollers back in the channels?

What caused my quarter glass to fall into the door while driving down the road?
