  • This video shows how to cook Tinumis. It is a dish similar to dinuguan. It came from the province of Nueva Ecija in the Philippines. The difference between tinumis and dinuguan is the souring ingredient used. Dinuguan uses vinegar while this dish uses either tamarind leaves, tamarind flower, or Sinigang sa Sampaloc Mix.

    Taga Nueva Ecija madalas ako magluto ng Tinumis pero walang kamatis...Sampalok lang o kaya dahon ng Sampalok o alibambang lang....

    Favorite ko to and nakapagluto na din ako ng ganyan. Mas bet ko ang tinumis kesa sa ibang version ng dinuguan .

    sobrang favorite k po tinumis ng cabanatuan city, di hamak n mas msarap po cia s dinuguan, usbong ng sampalok dw pmpaasim nla at onting sampalok powder or real sampalok fruit.. sir Vanjo, sana po gawa din po kau ng authentic tinumis cabanatuan version.. un lagi hnahanap hanap k s twing pupunta s cabanatuan, at d best po tlaga ung longganisang cabanatuan, sweet garlicky longanisa ni aling mercy s mlaking palengke ng cabanatuan, msarap p s vigan or kun anu p longanisa s pinas, nkalimutan k iba name, pro original cabanatuan sweet garlicky longanisa pnkamsarap ntikman nmin at paborito s lahat.. thank u po, GBU, thanks for teaching us to cook ☺😊

    Bawang sibuyas sili samapalok na bunga or usbong po ang tinumis ng nueva ecija.

    Thanks po! Natikman ko na ito, mas gusto ko ang ganitong version ng dinuguan na sinigang mix ang nilagay kaysa sa suka. Mas type ko sya! tsaka napakadaling gawin.

    My mom actually uses both vinegar and sampaloc. Makes it taste so much better than the ones found at restaurants.

    sir vanjo taga cabanatuan nueva ecija ako, bakit po may kamatis? sampalok o dahon ng sampalok lang po yun. 😅

      Depende po siguro sa preference , nag interview po ako ng sampung tao na taga inyo, walo sa kanila ang naglalagay ng kamatis.

      Ang tinumis... Alam k ground pork at buong dugo ang ginagamit at may dahon ng sili.

      Halos pareho ang dinuguan at tinumis. ang main difference ay ang pangpaasim na ginagamit: suka ang karaniwang gamit sa dinuguan, samatalang sampaloc leaves or sinigang mix naman ang sa tinumis. Bukod dito may ibang versions din ng tinumis na hindi gumagamit ng dugo.

      Lorence Victoria mas maasim po. And authentic tinumis has young sampaloc leaves kaya maasim. Baka walang ganun sa place ni Sir Vanjo. 😬

    mas gs2 kh to ang tinumis kasi konte lng ingredients chaka madali lng luto.in....kesa sa dinuguan...
