The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who. They were the biggest bands, the Holy Trinity, when I was in grade school in the 70's.
We didn't realize how good we had it back then. We will not see their likes again.
Very cool you picked up the meaning of the song after the first few verses. On a different note, when The Who was recording this concert at Shepperton Studios near London, in the studio next door, the movie "Alien" was being filmed. The cast and crew of "Alien" took a break to go watch The Who live. They liked the laser show at the end of Won't Get Fooled Again so much, they borrowed the laser equipment from The Who and used it in the "Alien" movie. So the next time you watch "Alien", keep an eye out for The Who's lasers.

And the whiskey voice of Roger Daltrey, it’s hard for me to imagine you’ve never heard of these people, unless you were living under a rock somewhere. Especially being British, there’s literally no excuse, no excuse at all.
They were legends they were big, they were loud, and they were proud. It’s hard to believe you’ve never heard of these blokes.

Fun fact: they borrowed the Who's laser system to film the scene in Alien where Kane finds the eggs in the alien ship.

Roger Daltry, Keith moon and Pete Townsend were the main players in The Who. You must have heard of at least one of them. X
Entwistle, anyone? One of the greatest rock bassists to ever play! But that's what made The Who so powerful - they were all tops at what they did and somehow worked together as a unit while retaining autonomy - but you can't leave out the Ox. That's ridiculous.

Know this one and a few others but I never really got into The Who
similar for me, but I like this one
About 4 or 5 I like.
It's never too late to start.
Always makes me raise an eyebrow when I hear or read of people saying that they never got into a band, or judge a band when they have only ever heard a couple of songs!! Spend some time listening to a bands musical catalogue, and then make an informed opinion. And I have to say that not knowing of a band as hugely important and influential as The Who is pretty shameful. The Who are one of the most legendary rock music acts of the past six decades!
