Hi, Pop...BIG fan of The Who. Notice the solid stolidity of The Ox (nickname for Bassist/ back singer John Entwistle)- he forms the roadbed for the solid genius of Roger on vocals and the flaky genius of Pete on guitar and vocals, and Keith (the Loon) Moon on drums, Makes me happy to see it make you happy. Be safe.

I saw them in concert twice and they rock the house like nobody I ever saw. Roger would swing that mic around and throw it out over the audience letting the mic cord slip through his hands then yank it back and catch it right in time for the next verse.

Most definitely one of the best rock performances ever, and yes the greatest scream in rock history. Did you check out the electrical tape on the microphone to keep it connected to the cable? I saw them perform this on that tour. Unfortunately, it was after the people were trampled at the Cincinnati concert and they kept the house lights up and if you even shifted in your seat, an army of ushers would shine flashlights on you. It really killed the vibe. The laser lights were almost invisible, too.

Grateful Dead (friends of the Who) were quietly becoming most pop US touring band ever. The survivors still play. Every show is different, & they let fans tape it all. They became popular thru fans trading tapes - nor thru commercial means.
This concert sits in the Smithsonian.

I’m sure it was a great show but watching a stampede that killed 11 people kinda put a damper on the show, if you know what I mean?
The Who was so mad at the Coliseum management that they never played Cincinnati again. It was another 15 years before I went to another concert.
