The surprise cake stand would probably work well with an angel food cake, but agree with others when they said to decorate it after it is placed on the stand.
Fellow Canuck here! Just discovered your channel a week ago and I just had to share how brilliant I think you are at what you do! I litteraly catch myself laughing out loud at your jokes, it brightens my day! And the editing is on a whole other level! Super happy to have discovered you.
I feel like the cake stand thing would be good for a rental item because how often would you want to do that pop up surprise? After that it would just take up space or go in a landfill.
This is the most Rachel that ever Racheled 😂. Girl. Next time, make the batter as it's meant to be first so you ensure an even distribution of all the ingredients. Then split the batter and add your milk powder. Also, don't treat it like you do salt haha. Add more so you can truly taste the difference. I love you so much😂😂❤️❤️
I’m a September baby. September babies are more than likely a Christmas baby. I love knowing that people born in the middle of November are more than likely a Valentine’s Day baby.
My son is a September baby. Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day and our wedding anniversary all fall inside 15 days. (When we got married, they were 3 consecutive Saturdays.). When I went to the doctor to confirm my pregnancy, I gave him that information. He looked at me and said, “We’re not going to pin this down to one or two possible days, are we.” I replied, “Probably not.” K was born on the 21st, my great aunt’s 95th birthday.
I think the cupcake filling thing could be fun to take two different flavor cupcakes and combine them by swapping the centers . Esp with the larger one as that seems like it’d be too much filling
Decorate the cake on the stand, and do the top entirely with dry stuff, like sprinkles or nuts or flowers or a candy design thingy. Everyone I know was born in Jan / Feb or at least in the spring.
Yea. I’m pretty sure you are supposed to put the cake on one layer at a time after you have cut the whole out of the middle, then decorate it on the stand. And other issue is the inside container is smaller than the holder so the hole was too small 😂
I think the cake stand is meant for a homemade cake 😂 I think you cut holes in the middle of naked cakes and then you decorate around the center tube where the jar sits. Love the video and i am also a September baby! September 3rd 🩷
As a September baby, i had a good laugh watching you figuring out the cake stand surprise 😂 it is does not worth the effort i think. Also that toasted milk powder seems interesting, never heard of it. I'm gonna give a try!
I definitely would try the milk powder thing and the corer. Your family apparently really celebrates the New Year a certain way. My family is more into valentine's celebrating 😂❤
The fact that she used a premade cake because it was "easier" when if she had made the cake she could have just assembled the cake AROUND the center bit on the provided cake tray. HOWEVER, this is a good note that it is very much for the home baker not for the purchase a cake family
It is little funny that she used aredy to bake cake mix box for cookies but not to make a cake😂, instead she bought a cake from store😂.Also rice hack for cookies seems like very expensive since rice is not very cheap to be wasted like that.
What do you mean, "rice is expensive"? How much does it cost where you live? It's like a dollar a pound here, which my very rough estimation puts at about 30 cents for a dozen cupcakes. And, of course, you could use the same rice to bake multiple batches.
@@songofshadow5043Right? What kind of rice are they buying and where? Rice is the gold standard when it comes to the most affordable/cheapest food. “Rice and beans” is notoriously one of the cheapest meals heavily relied upon by people living in poverty. As a September 16 baby with two of mine born within days of my birthday let’s just say lots of New Years conception happens and or stuck inside in early January produces tons of September babies!!!
I’m a September baby and so is my aunt but my family sees a huge number of celebrations in February. In a family of 10, we have celebrations on the 6th, 17th, 19th (2 here. My dad and my mom’s mom) and 23rd!
i work at a bakery and cupcake corers make it easier to do filled cupcakes. they also make the holes uniform so they all have the same amount of filling!
I live in FL, and the year I was born, there was actually SNOW and really low temps across the entire state a few days before MLK day in January... I think my parents stayed warm that day!
I do feel like the surprise cake stand thing is meant for a bundt cake. It is already missing it's center, and if it's not wide enough it'd be a lot easier to shave the center to a larger size.. then either frost the top or put sprinkles, confetti, etc on top of it. Less cake is wasted, and less effort all around. As for September birthdays, my mom and mother-in-law's birthdays are one day after the other (21st and 22nd). In my family, the majority of the birthdays are in July (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 16th, 23rd, and I know at least one other but cannot remember)
That's assuming a bunch of early babies. Pregnancy is supposed to be 40 weeks, which means an Oct. 8 due date after New Years. Most are born a week either side of their due date....Hm.
@@melvasaielI would guess Thanksgiving/Christmas babies lol lots of time off from school/work/whatever else for the holidays; plenty of space for baby-making. My 2 kids were born mid Dec and mid Jan, I liked to get busy close to my birthday in April apparently. 😅 My first baby was conceived the first week of lockdown; we were CLEARLY very bored with time on our hands haha Dec 2020 there he came. My second was a birthday baby. Best gift I could have gotten myself, which is funny bcz I found OUT I was pregnant with my first ON my birthday. Interesting how life works huh haha
Holiday celebrations lol. I know when all 3 of mine were conceived - 1st was after my 30th birthday party. 2nd was after a Christmas party. 3rd was Valentines XD
Northern hemisphere would have more September babies, because of December winter. Being in the Southern hemisphere, I don't know anyone with September birthday, but do have 7 family members with April birthdays. As our winter is July.
When you do what Chris says for the cake, to repeat the prize reveal multiple times and clean the bottle until it always comes out clean. You do it before putting the frosting on top of the canister. So you don't need to use a dowel to push it down.

If you had a bought cake like the one you used, could you just use the container as a guide only to mark out where to cut rather than using it to cut the hole? Then using a long sharp knife to just cut the portion of cake slightly larger so that it's not hitting any cake as it pops out? Problem is the frosting smooshed over the top to hide it may still do the same thing. The idea of it is fun, just seems like a lot of work lol. Interesting tip with the toasted milk powder, might have to try that.
I think the surprise cake stand is meant to have a naked cake put on and then you decorate the cake once it is on the stand.
Exactly what I was going to comment!
Glad you said it. That's what I was going to suggest. Even just putting it on layer by layer.
@@amywright6100 I would also cook the cake around a cylinder the same size. That way you don't need to worry about making the hollow center.
Yup! The frosting dried so it cracked. So one would have to make a cake from scratch.😞😮💨 The problem is that’s takes so much time and dishes galor!
You beat me to it too.
Girl, you did that the most complicated way possible. And I love this shit out of you for it.
Listen - if it's not overly complicated then you're doing it wrong 💅
