I bought a 2011 Kia Soul at repo auction for $800 it had been in an accident with minimal damage. 176000 miles. The thing is still going strong I just now had to take it to a shop to get a few repairs best investment I ever made car wise

I just turned in a 2011 Kia Soul....got $500 for it. It was still running, but it was well past it prime. She was ready to die at 283,000 miles. She was strickly a work car. I worked out of her everyday. No major work done on her. Just tires, and oil changes, and a few other couple hundred fixes. It was so good juat got another used one.

10 year bumper to bumper warranty and 3 years in and no serious issues. My Ram truck however , you could feel it falling apart.

Take it to a well known independent shop before you purchase it. Don’t always trust the dealers or big franchise chains to look over it thoroughly. Find a local Scotty Kilmer with a fancy scan tool and 53 years experience.

U can take it AutoZone for that right?

@@scorpiocara6798 No, auto zone doesn't have a fancy scan tool just a basic code reader, there's a big difference between a $50 scanner and a $2000 one.

Just picked up a 2019 soul + and love it! 18k, tight rust free California car.

The best of the best Kia Souls are assembled/built in South Korea, have 18" wheels, have no turbo, no sunroof, no power folding side-view mirrors, and no CVT. Kia Soul body kits should also be avoided. My 2017 Kia Soul+ Brownstone Special Edition is awesome!

This is just general boilerplate about buying a car, with a bit of Kia content...nice Ontario scenery though

Have 2013 since new now has 80000 miles with zero repair issues. 31 mpg on highway. Synthetic oil and upgraded filter. Checked original brakes and they are fine with 80000 mi. My second car is a Cadillac SRX with same mileage and I will have to say for around town I’ll take the Kia every time

I have a 2014 Kia Soul Plus bought. I'm retired and don't drive much so it only has 30K milage. But in those 30K miles I've never had even one small problem or needed anything replaced accept a battery. Not really a problem either. I only replaced that because it was 5 years old. All and all a great car, especially around city where i average 26 MPG. On Highway I get between 32-35 MPG.

That’s some smooth driving. 88k miles on my civic nothing but upgraded brakes after mine wore out at 78k

Just brought my 2016 Kia Soul (1.6L 6-speed manual) into a "shocks & brakes" shop.
Car is five years old, with 44,000+ miles on the odometer.
It needs pads & rotors on both front and both rear wheels, plus they discovered a leak on the rear calipers. So both rear calipers are being replaced, too.
A serious expense of ownership that I didn't expect to happen so soon in the car's lifetime. :-(
At least the front calipers are fine. :-/
Apparently, the "integrated design" of the rear brakes and the hand-brake is a contributing factor?

It was probably the first set of brakes that car ever had. That's a normal thing.

@@derekcollins1972 No, having a leak in the calipers is not a normal thing. 🧡

There’s really only one thing to know, and that is buying extended warranty. But that applies to buying any used car.
