@@ZNP306 from her letter and how she left with Ghislaine, i can assume she left to train, given how she says "right now we dont match", and i can agree with eris in that choice, Rudy as a mage, cant help Eris get stronger and he is in the position of protecting her instead of fighting WITH her, they are not equals, Orsted is their pointer, Eris was unable to do anything, she was stopped with just wingers and taken out easily, Ruijerd couldnt even scratch Orsted, then Rudeus even dying, with his lungs crushed, was still able to keep going, keep fighting him and even managed to even if slightly, injure his hand, reminder that Orsted took a Red Dragon fire breath point blank without feeling anything in episode 8 and parried with his bare hands Ruijerd spear, Rudy in a weakened moment where he was in auto survival mode disregarging anything, was still able to throw a spell that injured him and another that he barely was able to block, then you have Eris witnessing this, imagine how you'd feel if your loved one is out there getting killed in front of your eyes and you cant even move, cant even put up a fight, even worse is, this episode, at the start we see Rudy practicing the magic orsted used against him, Disturb Magic, in her eyes, id see Rudy leaving her behind by miles, he was beaten, killed and revived just because, and despite that, its still trying to get better instead of writting it off as "unfortunate, was unlucky meeting like that the strongest being, but that wont happen again, why train" and rathe is "if i meet him again, i want to put up a fight" imagine that feeling of impotence in Eris
What makes me even real sad is this is his first time ever crying after he got reincarnated here. he almost cried when he hugged his dad then HIM BEING LITERALLY Alone is just tragic and sad. like what the next ep said he has to take a step forward and keep moving even if hes alone
Bro, my boy Rudy almost died at the hands of a Dragon God, he was left with an immense fear not only to Orsted but also to losing everything he achieved in this life and the people he has met... even so and with all the fear he was able to think of a possible future battle with Orsted and began preparations so he could keep Eris safe. In the beginning of the chapter they showed us the fear of Rudeus to be alone... and in the end that fear became reality.

If he reincarnated, then it's fair to assume everyone else does, just doesn't necessarily remember the last ones. So everyone is old like this. Mentally he was in his 30s+ rudeus years, but at the same time he was a neet stuck in his room since high school, making him more childish. Literally never had sex, a job, or had any worries about bills. Put that inexperienced adult back into the body of a 13 yo, with hormones / going through puberty, would make it kinda difficult to say no to a girl who is physically older and hit puberty a couple years prior. And what about the mechanics of being in a growing body and genetically different body for years past your death, you were technically being a child for over a decade? He wasn't even the one to initiate or take advantage of her in this situation, he even was going to wait till 15 which would put her at 17. IDK lol, personally would avoid it if it were me but 16 is age of consent in the states and 15 is in other parts of the world.

It probably hits harder for Rudeus because he probably wasn't expecting just a desolate wasteland that stretches beyond the distant horizon. Like, remember the disaster just teleported people, he had no idea what impact it had on buildings and plants and the environment; he was probably expecting like empty, dilapidated houses and overgrown plants. Like this is almost 3 years later and there's nothing growing in it's place. It's just dead and grey. It would take years, probably decades or even a century to rebuild, even if plants even take to the ground now that's just like barren. And now there's just like a massive circle of it stretching over mountains and rivers. Countless people were effected and the world will never recover like it was.
Kind of like a fallout after a nuclear explosion. Still, I hope the anime answers just what exactly was this mana disaster and how does it work in the future.
Actually, the center of the teleportation accident where Rudy, Eris and Ghislaine at that time will be an important point again in the future. This event will also explain a lot of things.

technically he was alone when he he was locked up in the Beast peoples village. But that was a kind of temporary alonement. Right now he's just totally alone.
I’m glad that they’re able to understand that Eris has her reasons for leaving but I think there’s one thing a lot of people miss on why she left instead of talking it out with Rudeus, Rudy would have talked her out of it. It was something that Eris was aware of so she just left a letter. But that didn’t help whatsoever.

Seeing Rudeus die actually hit Eris deep that she felt helpless and weak, despite Rujierd telling her that she has become strong. I believe the manga showed it but she did somehow say she is still weak and wants to be strong that she can protect Rudeus which is why she left with Ghislaine... O_O I think that's what happened...
She also felt that she was a burden to him because she was taking advantage of Rudeus’s kindness. Literally, their bed scene is where she realizes how small and weak (from his hand) Rudy is. And she feels disgusted and hates herself for it, which is what leads her to make up her mind.
This episode really did a solid job of showing how affected she was. She literally didn't leave his side until the point where she chose to grieve alone.
Slight spoilers. The manga shows that she did a very bad attempt at saying that.What she wants to say is "I don't think I'm good enough for you." But she writes a note that pretty much says "We aren't equals so shouldn't be together." Which Rudeas reads as "You aren't good enough for me."

It shouldn't really be a controversy to be honest. It's a fictional story and that moment is focused on the characters, they didn't even play it for fanservice Shit in game of thrones was way worse, like with Tommen for example but nobody cared about that (and numerous other scenes)

Pretty sure she left because she feels like she isn’t worthy of Rudy at the moment. She most likely feels like she needs to grow more to be on the same level as rudeus and that’s what she meant when she said they’re not well balanced. She wasn’t running away away or being selfish she just feels like she needs to become better before she can really stand together with rudeus

And when Rudy just started wailing. I felt really bad bcuz he is basically a kid. Who is just turning into a teen Yes there is the fact he is mentally 40 cuz he has the memories from his past life. But even then his life experience was that of a socially awkward teen. And even now at this point. I think he kinda deserves getting to do it. He definitely has matured. If this was beginning of series Rudy I definitely could see this as more of a black and white issue. But after all this time. There's a little more nuance around it

Bit of clarification, but that teleport incident randomly teleported everyone within basically a 30 mile radius. ALL living things at that. Anything that wasn't living got basically destroyed. So not only was it like a forced game of russian roulette on where people ended up or if they even lived, but their homes was basically wiped the hell out. That incident was just nuts.
Just with these two last episodes, this anime got in my top 5 anime with almost 40 years of watching animes religiously. Almost wanna buy all the LN.......but gotta resist and stay anime only.
Also the homes and towns were devastated by the initial blast of the teleportation. It kind of was like a nuke going off. People with Mana were teleported, people who had no Mana at all were just erased.
Eris abandoned Rudeus because she felt that he was very weak. She realized this when Rudeus attacked Orsted because the spell he cast (rock cannon) was powerful enough to damage an enemy that neither she nor Rujerd could cope with, and the second spell he used was the equivalent of a nuclear bomb. She left because she didn't want a relationship where she depended on Rudeus, She wanted the two of them to depend on each other but Eris is not very good with words which caused the letter to be misinterpreted.
This episode truly captures the feeling of growing up and also highlights things can't always stay the same way after some time. Also glad you guys didn't take thag bed scene between Rudeus and Eris the wrong was and actually saw what it meant.
When she said "we're not well-balanced" as the reason it was more about the fact that she doesn't feel like she measures up to Rudy's power, and needs to go off and get stronger to try and be more equal to him and worthy of him. She just fucked up on the exit and left a vaguely worded letter instead of having a face-to-face talk which is what Rudy at least deserved.

The whole Eris thing this episode is, for me at least, very interesting as they go to great lengths so as to give no idea of what Eris is actually thinking or feeling, she is very composed during the whole scene in both expression and voice so the viewer is left with just guess-work.
An awesome detail regarding the OP of this specific episode. It's the opening 1 of the anime. Rudeus is back going back to his home, we are greeted with that old OP we associated with during his most fun days at the start of the anime, only for the song to be cut before it reaches it's peak, in a mellow and abrupt manner, similar to the realization that Rudy's home is no longer as it once was. This small sequence, gives us the feeling of excitement Rudy must be feeling, only to be greeted with the grim reality of what it is, is no longer what it was.

I dont know if it was mentioned in the novel but I think even the houses got teleported. In addition to how even the grass and crops got yeeted, and only the big tree remained, probably cause its roots are big enough to hold it in place, unlike other trees in the area. The house also got teleported and only the foundation was left, likely for the same reason the big tree stayed.
In the novel, everything except the grass was totally gone. The anime changed it up a bit so that there would be more visual impact of the devastation.
Quick thing in case nobody pointed it out yet: This is the very first time that Rudeus cries in his new life If you remember, he didn't cry a single time even when he was a newborn So seeing him break down this much after being left alone made me very sad
I was looking for this reaction. It just hit too hard with him thinking he got dumped. Like damn, imagine getting some for the first time when you've felt like shit about your own self image for YEARS. There's still some trauma to work through since he hates whenever Man-God forces him into his mental self. And then you get left with a letter that reads exactly like a breakup. "You and I aren't well suited for each other, I'm leaving." That hit me too hard.
Fun fact: Eris thought that rudy and him weren't compatible with each other on the scene where they held hands. Eris thought of how small Rudues hands were and realized what she was doing.
Eris left because she felt inferior to Rudeus, him being a great magician as well as having several perks that allow him to excel in close range combat and all that. There have been several times it was hinted that Eris feels insecure about her weakness, that's why she was so happy to finally be acknowledged by Ruijerd. But this didn't go on for long as the very next day, Rudeus and Ruijerd have both been almost killed all the while she couldn't do a thing but watch. Do you realize, all things considered and taking into account how prideful Eris is, just how demoralizing that experience have been for her? Eris decides to give her first time to Rudy and escape arranged marriage in order to gain strength and not only stand up for herself, but also be on equal footing with Rudeus. Basically, she feels like her fate was in the hands of others and that she only burdened those she loved, so she decided to grab ahold of her fate and walk her own path.
I understand why she left. However, everything that Rudeus is about to mentallly and physically go through could be avoided if she had just written a better letter explaining why she left. She said were unbalanced and through she was talking about herself not being able to keep up with Rudeus he's probably thinking that they spent the night together and she didin't like it and dipped.
Laplace is named after one of the worlds most famous mathematicians/scientists. Usually called the French Newton, he was essentially the genius mathematician who created so many formulas and principles used today in physics, geometry and calculus. For context he was the leading mind during the time of Napoleon and was so smart he was even put as a figurehead temporarily to lead France during the whole Napoleon thing (but his mind was not the best at administration, and even then when removed people were wary to not be on his bad side so they were all polite about it). His brain was even kept and studied because he was so intelligent people wanted to see if they could figure out why. That's why the name is so often used in anime/fantasy, because to a lot of the world saying Laplace is like saying "Einstein" or some famous household name. However, American education is based on "American Exceptionalism", and they don't teach American children about rivals or people that could overshadow their own heroes, so Laplace became a victim to that. (The American educational system is heavily biased towards English/British sources over France/Etc). You'd be surprised to know how little the Wright Brothers, for example, are regarded as having done anything for flight other than float a bit, years after several other way more advanced pilots did, to other countries. Like google "Alberto Santos-Dumont", that's who's considered the father of aviation to several countries... It's hard to even find much about him in English lol. When learning about flight they Wright Bros are rarely even mentioned. Likewise Laplace quickly overshadowed several of Newton's highlights, rising to prominence a few years after Newton's death, so the American educational system doesn't like to even mention him. France/Germany essentially spearheaded so much of science, math, music and etc, and yet we basically learn a bit about Napoleon, and WW2, and that's pretty much it lol. It was illuminating when I went to look up things and found out so many things we were taught America led or did first the rest of the world basically pets them and are like, "Aww, sure, if it makes you happy you can think that".
In two lifetimes this was prob the first time he had a solid group of friends and now he gets left all alone again. The ptsd is real. Time to see if people actually take his new "problem" seriously or just laugh it off

Note about the "simpler" openings - I think it also speaks both to "well, it's not an amazing adventure now, shit is serious" and "we're getting back to simpler times" (though everything has changed and nothing is simple now).
From what I understand Eris left to go on this adventure to get stronger because she feels inferior to Rudy, she feels she should be the one protecting him, and after she saw him fight Orsted it made her feel insecure. The thing about family was honest, before she went on this journey she wanted to essentially “claim Rudy as hers” hence why she wanted to sleep with him before basically anyone else could. But the problem though is that both her and Ghislane suck ass at writing notes so a lot was left up to the interpretation of Rudy, and obviously it was wrote in such a way that Rudy took it in the worst way possible. Let me know if I missed anything, I could be wrong!
I think you're pretty spot on. The thing is that Eris has no way of knowing Rudy's history/past life. From her perspective, Rudy has always been weirdly mature (with the possible exception of his perverted side). So even though her note could have been misinterpreted by anyone, she probably wouldn't have expected it to make him believe that she was abandoning him, or for that to have the specific impact it did on him.
yeah,in Eris mind,she always think that Rudy was smart ,you can said that she overestimated Rudy. She know she is bad at words but she believe that Rudy will understand her message,so she didnt think much and just leave a very simple message to Rudy.
Imagine being with someone thats basically your fiance(cuz her mum and dad want them to marry)for 1/3 if your life then you two get laid and then she just leave :D

Ruijerd leaving had me really tearing up. I wanted Rudy to say how he felt so bad! Also I love how he still held the cultural way of bowing out of gratefulness that he knows form Japan.
She realized after Orsted encounter that she’s weak and doesn’t want to be burden to Rudues. She’s also said that she want to go on journey with Ghislaine someday so it did make sense she want to full fill her promise with Rudues before setting on the journey. If she told him about that he would most likely have stop her.
This may sound repetitive, but: Orsted did not decide to kill Rudeus because of his mana capacity and similarity to Laplace. He killed Rudeus because he knew the name Hitogami, the Man-God. Rudeus' cry gets me everytime.

In the books the return is even sadder: There is NOTHING left of old Fittoa. Every living thing was teleported away and every building was removed from existence. It was an empty sea of grass, with no signs of anything ever having been built there, and no forests or solitary trees either. Rudeus never returned to Buena. He never stood under that tree again. He never saw where his home stood. There was nothing to mourn or reminisce over. It was all gone.
I think it's funny how immediately after Rudy gets criticized by Paul for having it easy after the Mana Disaster, his journey just starts becoming trash.

@@ZNP306 from her letter and how she left with Ghislaine, i can assume she left to train, given how she says "right now we dont match", and i can agree with eris in that choice, Rudy as a mage, cant help Eris get stronger and he is in the position of protecting her instead of fighting WITH her, they are not equals, Orsted is their pointer, Eris was unable to do anything, she was stopped with just wingers and taken out easily, Ruijerd couldnt even scratch Orsted, then Rudeus even dying, with his lungs crushed, was still able to keep going, keep fighting him and even managed to even if slightly, injure his hand, reminder that Orsted took a Red Dragon fire breath point blank without feeling anything in episode 8 and parried with his bare hands Ruijerd spear, Rudy in a weakened moment where he was in auto survival mode disregarging anything, was still able to throw a spell that injured him and another that he barely was able to block, then you have Eris witnessing this, imagine how you'd feel if your loved one is out there getting killed in front of your eyes and you cant even move, cant even put up a fight, even worse is, this episode, at the start we see Rudy practicing the magic orsted used against him, Disturb Magic, in her eyes, id see Rudy leaving her behind by miles, he was beaten, killed and revived just because, and despite that, its still trying to get better instead of writting it off as "unfortunate, was unlucky meeting like that the strongest being, but that wont happen again, why train" and rathe is "if i meet him again, i want to put up a fight" imagine that feeling of impotence in Eris

Bro, my boy Rudy almost died at the hands of a Dragon God, he was left with an immense fear not only to Orsted but also to losing everything he achieved in this life and the people he has met... even so and with all the fear he was able to think of a possible future battle with Orsted and began preparations so he could keep Eris safe. In the beginning of the chapter they showed us the fear of Rudeus to be alone... and in the end that fear became reality.
Episode is called "Dreams and Reality" after all.

If he reincarnated, then it's fair to assume everyone else does, just doesn't necessarily remember the last ones. So everyone is old like this. Mentally he was in his 30s+ rudeus years, but at the same time he was a neet stuck in his room since high school, making him more childish. Literally never had sex, a job, or had any worries about bills. Put that inexperienced adult back into the body of a 13 yo, with hormones / going through puberty, would make it kinda difficult to say no to a girl who is physically older and hit puberty a couple years prior.
And what about the mechanics of being in a growing body and genetically different body for years past your death, you were technically being a child for over a decade? He wasn't even the one to initiate or take advantage of her in this situation, he even was going to wait till 15 which would put her at 17. It probably hits harder for Rudeus because he probably wasn't expecting just a desolate wasteland that stretches beyond the distant horizon. Like, remember the disaster just teleported people, he had no idea what impact it had on buildings and plants and the environment; he was probably expecting like empty, dilapidated houses and overgrown plants. Like this is almost 3 years later and there's nothing growing in it's place. It's just dead and grey. It would take years, probably decades or even a century to rebuild, even if plants even take to the ground now that's just like barren. And now there's just like a massive circle of it stretching over mountains and rivers. Countless people were effected and the world will never recover like it was.
Anyone would be shocked at a sight like that. Truly unbearable.

Seeing Rudeus die actually hit Eris deep that she felt helpless and weak, despite Rujierd telling her that she has become strong. I believe the manga showed it but she did somehow say she is still weak and wants to be strong that she can protect Rudeus which is why she left with Ghislaine... O_O I think that's what happened...
She also felt that she was a burden to him because she was taking advantage of Rudeus’s kindness. Literally, their bed scene is where she realizes how small and weak (from his hand) Rudy is. And she feels disgusted and hates herself for it, which is what leads her to make up her mind.
This episode really did a solid job of showing how affected she was. She literally didn't leave his side until the point where she chose to grieve alone.
Slight spoilers.
The manga shows that she did a very bad attempt at saying that.What she wants to say is "I don't think I'm good enough for you." But she writes a note that pretty much says "We aren't equals so shouldn't be together." Which Rudeas reads as "You aren't good enough for me."

But even then his life experience was that of a socially awkward teen. And even now at this point. I think he kinda deserves getting to do it. He definitely has matured. Bit of clarification, but that teleport incident randomly teleported everyone within basically a 30 mile radius. ALL living things at that. Anything that wasn't living got basically destroyed.

Also the homes and towns were devastated by the initial blast of the teleportation. It kind of was like a nuke going off. People with Mana were teleported, people who had no Mana at all were just erased.
Eris abandoned Rudeus because she felt that he was very weak. She realized this when Rudeus attacked Orsted because the spell he cast (rock cannon) was powerful enough to damage an enemy that neither she nor Rujerd could cope with, and the second spell he used was the equivalent of a nuclear bomb. She left because she didn't want a relationship where she depended on Rudeus, She wanted the two of them to depend on each other but Eris is not very good with words which caused the letter to be misinterpreted.
This episode truly captures the feeling of growing up and also highlights things can't always stay the same way after some time. Also glad you guys didn't take thag bed scene between Rudeus and Eris the wrong was and actually saw what it meant.
When she said "we're not well-balanced" as the reason it was more about the fact that she doesn't feel like she measures up to Rudy's power, and needs to go off and get stronger to try and be more equal to him and worthy of him. She just fucked up on the exit and left a vaguely worded letter instead of having a face-to-face talk which is what Rudy at least deserved.

The whole Eris thing this episode is, for me at least, very interesting as they go to great lengths so as to give no idea of what Eris is actually thinking or feeling, she is very composed during the whole scene in both expression and voice so the viewer is left with just guess-work.
An awesome detail regarding the OP of this specific episode.
It's the opening 1 of the anime. Rudeus is back going back to his home, we are greeted with that old OP we associated with during his most fun days at the start of the anime, only for the song to be cut before it reaches it's peak, in a mellow and abrupt manner, similar to the realization that Rudy's home is no longer as it once was.
This small sequence, gives us the feeling of excitement Rudy must be feeling, only to be greeted with the grim reality of what it is, is no longer what it was.

I dont know if it was mentioned in the novel but I think even the houses got teleported. In addition to how even the grass and crops got yeeted, and only the big tree remained, probably cause its roots are big enough to hold it in place, unlike other trees in the area. The house also got teleported and only the foundation was left, likely for the same reason the big tree stayed.
In the novel, everything except the grass was totally gone. The anime changed it up a bit so that there would be more visual impact of the devastation.
Quick thing in case nobody pointed it out yet: This is the very first time that Rudeus cries in his new life
If you remember, he didn't cry a single time even when he was a newborn
So seeing him break down this much after being left alone made me very sad
I was looking for this reaction. It just hit too hard with him thinking he got dumped. Like damn, imagine getting some for the first time when you've felt like shit about your own self image for YEARS. There's still some trauma to work through since he hates whenever Man-God forces him into his mental self. And then you get left with a letter that reads exactly like a breakup. "You and I aren't well suited for each other, I'm leaving."
That hit me too hard.

Eris left because she felt inferior to Rudeus, him being a great magician as well as having several perks that allow him to excel in close range combat and all that.
There have been several times it was hinted that Eris feels insecure about her weakness, that's why she was so happy to finally be acknowledged by Ruijerd.
But this didn't go on for long as the very next day, Rudeus and Ruijerd have both been almost killed all the while she couldn't do a thing but watch. Do you realize, all things considered and taking into account how prideful Eris is, just how demoralizing that experience have been for her?
Eris decides to give her first time to Rudy and escape arranged marriage in order to gain strength and not only stand up for herself, but also be on equal footing with Rudeus.
Basically, she feels like her fate was in the hands of others and that she only burdened those she loved, so she decided to grab ahold of her fate and walk her own path.
She left at the wrong time tho, he literally has none of his family around

I understand why she left. However, everything that Rudeus is about to mentallly and physically go through could be avoided if she had just written a better letter explaining why she left. She said were unbalanced and through she was talking about herself not being able to keep up with Rudeus he's probably thinking that they spent the night together and she didin't like it and dipped.
Laplace is named after one of the worlds most famous mathematicians/scientists. Usually called the French Newton, he was essentially the genius mathematician who created so many formulas and principles used today in physics, geometry and calculus. For context he was the leading mind during the time of Napoleon and was so smart he was even put as a figurehead temporarily to lead France during the whole Napoleon thing (but his mind was not the best at administration, and even then when removed people were wary to not be on his bad side so they were all polite about it). His brain was even kept and studied because he was so intelligent people wanted to see if they could figure out why. That's why the name is so often used in anime/fantasy, because to a lot of the world saying Laplace is like saying "Einstein" or some famous household name. However, American education is based on "American Exceptionalism", and they don't teach American children about rivals or people that could overshadow their own heroes, so Laplace became a victim to that. (The American educational system is heavily biased towards English/British sources over France/Etc).
You'd be surprised to know how little the Wright Brothers, for example, are regarded as having done anything for flight other than float a bit, years after several other way more advanced pilots did, to other countries. Like google "Alberto Santos-Dumont", that's who's considered the father of aviation to several countries... It's hard to even find much about him in English lol. When learning about flight they Wright Bros are rarely even mentioned.
Likewise Laplace quickly overshadowed several of Newton's highlights, rising to prominence a few years after Newton's death, so the American educational system doesn't like to even mention him. France/Germany essentially spearheaded so much of science, math, music and etc, and yet we basically learn a bit about Napoleon, and WW2, and that's pretty much it lol. It was illuminating when I went to look up things and found out so many things we were taught America led or did first the rest of the world basically pets them and are like, "Aww, sure, if it makes you happy you can think that".
In two lifetimes this was prob the first time he had a solid group of friends and now he gets left all alone again. The ptsd is real. Time to see if people actually take his new "problem" seriously or just laugh it off
i think alot of people who are anime only will laugh at him and may not like the next season, because "the problem" will be at the forfront.

Note about the "simpler" openings - I think it also speaks both to "well, it's not an amazing adventure now, shit is serious" and "we're getting back to simpler times" (though everything has changed and nothing is simple now).
From what I understand Eris left to go on this adventure to get stronger because she feels inferior to Rudy, she feels she should be the one protecting him, and after she saw him fight Orsted it made her feel insecure. The thing about family was honest, before she went on this journey she wanted to essentially “claim Rudy as hers” hence why she wanted to sleep with him before basically anyone else could. But the problem though is that both her and Ghislane suck ass at writing notes so a lot was left up to the interpretation of Rudy, and obviously it was wrote in such a way that Rudy took it in the worst way possible. Let me know if I missed anything, I could be wrong!
I think you're pretty spot on. The thing is that Eris has no way of knowing Rudy's history/past life. From her perspective, Rudy has always been weirdly mature (with the possible exception of his perverted side). So even though her note could have been misinterpreted by anyone, she probably wouldn't have expected it to make him believe that she was abandoning him, or for that to have the specific impact it did on him.
yeah,in Eris mind,she always think that Rudy was smart ,you can said that she overestimated Rudy. She know she is bad at words but she believe that Rudy will understand her message,so she didnt think much and just leave a very simple message to Rudy.

Ruijerd leaving had me really tearing up. I wanted Rudy to say how he felt so bad! Also I love how he still held the cultural way of bowing out of gratefulness that he knows form Japan.

She realized after Orsted encounter that she’s weak and doesn’t want to be burden to Rudues. She’s also said that she want to go on journey with Ghislaine someday so it did make sense she want to full fill her promise with Rudues before setting on the journey. If she told him about that he would most likely have stop her.
The edit on Ruijurd was absolutely foul, but that shit had me laughing my ass off.

This may sound repetitive, but:
Orsted did not decide to kill Rudeus because of his mana capacity and similarity to Laplace. He killed Rudeus because he knew the name Hitogami, the Man-God.
Rudeus' cry gets me everytime.

In the books the return is even sadder: There is NOTHING left of old Fittoa. Every living thing was teleported away and every building was removed from existence. It was an empty sea of grass, with no signs of anything ever having been built there, and no forests or solitary trees either.
Rudeus never returned to Buena. He never stood under that tree again. He never saw where his home stood. There was nothing to mourn or reminisce over. It was all gone.
I think it's funny how immediately after Rudy gets criticized by Paul for having it easy after the Mana Disaster, his journey just starts becoming trash.
