I miss the way the warriors play like this, now its nothing more than ISO ball and pick and roll just like every other generic team, the problem is their personnel isn't built for it, if only the young guys and new players brought into this system, they would have been running around creating such beautiful offense and not ball watching.

Flow offense
Coaches and smart folk. Question. What is the warriors and Coach Kerr’s philosophy when it comes to on-ball screens in the ‘flow offense’ they run (not sets- just their motion stuff)
Is it only the 5 for their star players? Is it after a certain amount of passes? There must be rules for it as I know he prefers the ball movement style of pin downs, dho and post splits.
Anyone got a clue what those reads/rules and philosophy would be?

Ball screens tend to be an early and late clock thing, post splits/movement in general is automatic, off ball screens are auto from 3-5 for shooters in motion off the initiation of offense

Do you limit your 5 man to 1 ball screen per trip? Force them to choose his spot and the right guy to screen?

All they did was screen down, flare, curl, and slip screens out of a 5 out set or set screens on the ball. Kerr does not seem to be teaching a system or pattern, but basic basketball movements.

Well that is the system. Being able to play free and random in space but there’s also a lot of patterns once ya watch multiple games and a lot tends to repeat but it’s just getting guys in spots to succeed to their strength

It sounds like simple basketball but it takes time to practice and execute this. Not many players have the mental capacity to read the defense and initiate counters while being under pressure, let alone getting a whole team on the same page. Lots of counters and pre-entry phases can happen depending on team composition and skills, too.
