    Good harvest. Keep the smallest and over winter and you will have slips to plant next year. You are correct don't wash them until they are cured. Very nice 👌

    Congrats the excitement when harvesting is real😁 like you said. Started my gardening journey last April. I've had success with watermelon, cantaloupe, broccoli, okra, peanuts from peanuts, peppers etc. I planted pineapple tops that's about 6months in growing nicely. Finally having success with tomatoes after so many tries because of excessive heat here in fla and very little bees. Thanks for sharing looking forward to planting sweet potatoes soon.

    Wow, Wendy! That's a nice harvest! You are so right because I always get a small harvest, and I am excited, for getting anything at all. Those two are nice. It will be worth eating, skin and all. I will be harvesting mine this weekend. Nice job, and take care.

    I liked this video, I wonder if you planted some of those "skinny" roots if it grow new sweet potato plants and make more for you. You did real good. It makes me a little jealous, its like digging for treasure.

    • @HealthyLivingWithWendy

    Lovely harvest. If it is near the end of the season, go ahead and eat all those sweet potato greens. I saute even big leaves and their attached stems for a few minutes until tender. If you want to be fast, just do the leaves. I eat them plain but I have also done olive oil and garlic.

    So long finger ones are good to bake up and then candy them. They eat just as good as the big one ones. The longer you cure them the sweeter they are. Lol.

    Awesome job Wendy!!! I agree...I get so excited over any little thing in my plantings. Today I harvested 3 okra 😂 but I planted some late August just because my Mom who is almost 80 talked about it. So every few days we harvest a couple. It's the little things that truly matter.

  • @articmars1
    @articmars1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I harvested my very first batch this year as well. It was so exciting. Lol. Next year its on. I had one container this year just to see if i could do it. Next year i plan on having at least 10 lol. I am in louisiana as well zone 9a. They say we can grow them all year down here. But i dont have the space gor that yet. Lol

    What a great harvest SIS👍👍👍how did you start out in terms of what you put in your soil❓ I am so mad at my self because I lost all in my slips but one do to cold nights and wide temperature swings.
    Thanks for sharing Sis🤝💯

    Congrats on the harves! So proud of you! Can I ask you what soil, and fertilizer was used? Were the potatoes fertilized after planting also? Thank you for your reply.

    • @HealthyLivingWithWendy
      @HealthyLivingWithWendy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I fertilized with bone meal and blood meal at the same time. That I planted the potatoes. Thanks for spending time with me. 😊
