The overall feel of this game isn't so different from both predecessors and successors. Yeah, the music may be considered more serious and mature because the missions were like that, and there wasn't a lot of cutscenes. The banter between Delta Squad(During Missions Especially) makes up for it, adding more lightheartedness to in some rather dire moments.
PhantomSith i understand that seriousness is what they were going for, and mission accomplished on that. not only the music, but the look of the game, how you're under the helmet of an expendable clone trooper, the surroundings, the tone, the look of enemies and your armor, made me feel a lot more scared for these guys than battlefront II did.
EclipseHedgehog Well, look at it like this. In Battlefront I and II, you have comrades, but you didn't have a team. Everyone was sort of expendable. In Republic Commando, you had a team with a Name and Number(Both were used Regularly). The orders and decisions you made had direct consequences on friends/characters you cared about. Battlefront had none of that, you're the one man show, and without you, the 501st is pretty much going to loose. (This is a reason I haven't gotten into Halo or Call of Duty)
There was a reason for it to be darker. All other star wars games were more about the heroic hard to loose not as many consequences action behind the Star wars universe. More for the fun. Republic Commando was supposed to tell the story from a soldiers perspective. Expendable, not a jedi so no force powers. just his training and his team to get him out of a battle or out of enemy territory alive, and on top of that they are commandos. They are routinely sent on missions that put them in the most danger possible with the most to lose should they fail. In republic commando your supposed to feel more vulnerable, and not as much as a one man army. You would fail almost all if not all missions if you had to go it alone. i particularly like this side of star wars. from the soldiers point of view. The jedi are badass and I love them too, but most stories that involve darker more casualties are of the soldiers on the frontlines and commando teams. A failure for jedi didn't mean death as often as would for a clone. Especially a commando. Not saying I like it being darker or more casualties, but there is a lot more suspense and to me gratification for beating the odds in a game like Republic commando.

For all who don't have it clear: The Mandalorians are just a grouping of warrior clans with similar customs and trademark armor. Mandalorians and their ideology come from the ancient species of the Taung: a warrior race from Coruscant expelled by the Human Batallions of Zhell from it after a volcano destroyed the planet's surface.

When I translated this, I pulled it from Karen Traviss's dictionary. Even had it all on my computer(Which has since had now two disk wipes, one due errors and others a failed hard drive) which I lost. Kandosii, as I saw it was "Indomitable" and "Ruthless" among other meanings. In this video, Kandosii is used with two different meanings as to what I felt best fit the song/what some of the original translations had it as in its respectful songs. "Jetiisi" means Republic/Jedi.
@Paul Jung, if you want a entirely botched German translation---sure. Translating one language I don't know to a language I do know is one thing. Translating into a language I know nothing of---is something else entirely.
PhantomSith in the KOTOR game there is a quest in which you have to basically learn/decipher a Mando´a conversation it may help you for some future investigation.
+Iiam David Wrong. In the KOTOR game there is a quest in which you have to identify the strange words of a young girl that was captured by Mandalorians. She doesn't speak Mando'a but just some strange words. Your character actually says something like "I speak Mandalorian but your words don't make any sense."
Before the inhibitor chips were a thing I feel like this theme served to foreshadow Order 66 by establishing the Clones as an indoctrinated death cult that served the Chancellor utterly and completely purely out of a fanatic sense of loyalty and duty.
Yes that is what I also believe. Also I think when palps gave the order 66, the clones didn't hear kill the Jedi, they heard, the Jedi tried to overthrow the government and install their own

First time i played Republic Commando, i had just finished playing Battlefront 2 and I had a sound round 5.1connected in my room at the time so the sound was a bit high at that moment. I put the game on the X-Box wait for the game to load and then the Suite song began and i had the biggest goosebumps i ever had... and i played the living sh*t of this game a love every moment and the most satisfying moment to hear it was after that f*cking bridge in Kashyyyk.
Man. This just popped up in my recommendations. Awesome job with the captions!! Instalike. When I'm back from work I will re-install and play this again.
If EA would make a sequel to Republic Commando it would be Visceral the have the talent to make a good singleplayer campaign so long as EA let them have free hands.
Well Star Wars is the hot cheese again but I don't know how much the want to have a game made in the prequels era. Free hands = less restrictive in what the want from the developers.
Although the Original Trilogy was better in terms of movies, I like the Clone Wars Era more than the Galactic Civil War Era when looking at it in terms of the Expanded Universe.
Yes the prequels and The Clone Wars really made Star Wars a much bigger and interesting then it was in the OT. Its really sad that Disney bought Lucasart, lost so much good content like Star Wars 1313 and season 7-8 of the Clone Wars.
@@DooshWahZ yes, and in the course of 6 years things have changed. I would say the chances of a RC sequel have increased. I did not say that to say you were incorrect.

@Marine8789 Yes he is a mandalorian. They are warriors from the planet mandalore who are ruled by the Mandalore. Their chieftain. They wear armor strong enough to deflect a lightsaber and a few trained the Commandos while Fett trained the ARCS. Kal Skirata and Walon VAu from the novels are two such Mandos.
So fantastic and rich, just the song alone adds so much depth to the Star Wars universe...I wish it had gone more in this direction then the way thing ended up...I have little hope now, but I still have my memories.
i hope bioware can make republic commando 2 they basically own the star wars games. But thanks to disney their crappy idea to stop lucas games and finish stars wars the clone wars (which could have another season) damn you all!
Pascal Gunnlaugson I agree with you. Even though, I've watched the first three episodes of star wars rebels and it was okay. I mean, the art style and animation and story line was garbage compared to The Clone Wars. And I hate them for making The Clone Wars and Karen Traviss' books non-canon to the story, a bunch of bs if you ask me.
That particular song/chant is a type of ode, their Reverence to their origins. "Our vengence burning brighter still, (Why?/Because of?) Taung!" is how I often take that statement.
There really needs to be a version based on the “original” lyrics. These lyrics were taught to the clones to instill a sense of patriotism in them for the Republic. Words like Coruscanta and Jetiise needs to be replaced with Mando’ad

Now I can sing to this song. Good-by,Elsa! Thank you, sir!
Your character actually says something like "I speak Mandalorian but your words don't make any sense."
yes youre right. thanks
+Robert Gleich too bad they never had her speak actual mandalorian. they just reused random alien language dialog from the game.
+PhantomSith if you want, i could provide a german translation
Oh my god, the shivers... How come Star Wars always has the most amazing music?
I played this for my cat. He turned into a tiger tank.
My cat is black...when he heard this he turn into a pz.V Panther
I did the same to my motorbike, now its an AT-RT Light walker.
I did the same to a beetle, now its an AT-TE walker
This compilation is really smooth! Great sound track for a very under rated game.
Before the inhibitor chips were a thing I feel like this theme served to foreshadow Order 66 by establishing the Clones as an indoctrinated death cult that served the Chancellor utterly and completely purely out of a fanatic sense of loyalty and duty.
Yes that is what I also believe. Also I think when palps gave the order 66, the clones didn't hear kill the Jedi, they heard, the Jedi tried to overthrow the government and install their own
i cry, it remember me so much time ago
4:28 is my favorite part

Am I a Sad Human being if i know more Mando 'a than the second language I'm taking?._.
I just spent 10 minutes reading through mandoa.org and can now speak more of it than I can of Spanish(despite three years of studying it in high school). What's with my brain and it randomly remembering things?
Its Star Wars Bro, its addicting as hell, but we still love it.
Fattey Boox
Feed the addiction. Feeeeeeeeed it!!! XD
No.
God Id love to speeak that
For you are a commando something truly special.
With Lucas Entertainment making their own games again, a Republic Commandos 2 is something that I could look forward to
This has so much more badass context now that we’ve finally seen the Siege of Mandalore!
Why?
4:28
It’s my favorite part because it’s so impactful
"FALL BACK TO COVER VICTOR FALL BA-" Ghost Ship legit use to give me nightmares....those drill Droids and the Trandos hiding in the walls.
This song is really good. I like it
i have played this game and i love the main menu music but howcome lucas that BASTARD canceled reb commando 2 and then sell star wars to bloody disney i have to say that lucas has definitely fucked the people's favorite Sci-fi here. so screw u lucas.
Adding this to my battlefront 2 playlist when the clone commandos release I’m glad I discovered this gem

2:54 hot damn that's awesome. I love how this score mixed that in there its just too cool.
I know, right? It also sounds oddly familiar to me. Any idea where it might be from?
@@hieuluong322 Sorry for responding so late, I believe its from the droid army march theme.
This is my favorite part in Republic Commando after blasting the clankers into oblivion with the AT-TE Walker *Aboard the RAS Prosecutor Delta Squad regain controls to the ships defensive turrets to counter* 4:29
I still listen to this mix in particular. Especially now that Clone Commandos are in Battlefront 2.
This music doesn't apply to New Canon commandos
This video was what got me into the game. Damn.
Definitely the best star wars theme. My favorite as well the clones are the best part of the franchise
Man. This just popped up in my recommendations. Awesome job with the captions!! Instalike.
When I'm back from work I will re-install and play this again.
If EA would make a sequel to Republic Commando it would be Visceral the have the talent to make a good singleplayer campaign so long as EA let them have free hands.
Yes
+Lunkwow Why should EA do it?
When I've understood the meanings, it hits much harder now. I have just finished the game recently, and I wish there were more!
It deserved a sequel, and never got it
Possibly one of my most favourite games of all time, why can't modern first person shooters be like this?
No one is original anymore
Unpopular opinion: The Clones are better than the Jedi.
That not an unpopular opinion is just a fact
In fact the clone are Better (order 66)
That's kinda just popular opinion
Definately
They are both badass I'd rather be a Jedi but if I couldn't for some reason Republic commando would be second choice 😎
Me:tries to sing this song
The rest of delta squad: 0_0
the demon I summoned: :}
Demon you summoned: "hello there"
Coming to PS4 and Switch, boyos ;)
Now that EA has the rights to basically all Star Wars games they better make a sequel to this. And not screw it up
Still waiting in 2020 D:
Oh we were young and foolish five years ago weren't we?
EA has lost the exclusive rights. I would love to see Respawn or even Infinity Ward make the sequel.
@@johnleonard9102 okay yeah but I made this post like 6 years ago
@@DooshWahZ yes, and in the course of 6 years things have changed. I would say the chances of a RC sequel have increased. I did not say that to say you were incorrect.
Mandolore for the win! They got an awesome history and they are the birth of true commandos. Live on Mandolore!
Damn, I miss 2005.
This was bad ass didn't realize all these years this song was this long reminds me of republic commando good days!!!! Imagination soars with this music thank you
Cool love the video and to all republic commando fans this is good
the music for this game was nothing short of epic, and the gameplay was great too. i loved it :D
One dominant heart, We brother all
So glad i stumbled onto this, I now have a reference for all the songs and understand them, thanks PhantomSIth
Makes you want to fight for the Republic.
I've done the game so many times !
I do not even remember the number of times 😌✨
I really hope someone makes more Republic Commando books and games.
Wow love it and love the clone army
So fantastic and rich, just the song alone adds so much depth to the Star Wars universe...I wish it had gone more in this direction then the way thing ended up...I have little hope now, but I still have my memories.
i hope bioware can make republic commando 2 they basically own the star wars games. But thanks to disney their crappy idea to stop lucas games and finish stars wars the clone wars (which could have another season) damn you all!
I don't think Bioware would be the best choice for a Republic Commando game, considering they specialize in 3rd person and often RPG games.
***** DICE then?
***** Yeah our best choice would be DICE
Disney should die for what they did to lucas arts and Clone wars ._.
Man STAR WARS REPUBLIC COMMANDO was my favorite STAR WARS video game I've ever played as a kid.
This is it. The perfect theme for when we march on Disney.
Darasuum Kote!
The Taung were the native species of Coruscant, weren't they?
I know I used to play Republic Commando all the time along with Battlefront and KOTOR :P all great games!
can we please for the love of god get a live action Clone war movie that centers around the clones only with this being the main theme.
The clones and Mando'a music doesn't go together anymore
