If we ever see a sequel, most probably it would be Imperial Commando. That if they continue the original Delta Squad story. The other option is to remake RC to make "it fit" into Disney canon.

Now that the Fetts are definitely Mandalorians in canon again, that means the clones have something Mandalorian in their genes. Now this theme hits home again :)
Thats one thing that always kinda pissed me off with the new canon- the treatment of the clones and how in legends it was so explicit with how they were THE ultimate army, Jango thought it all out, included special units such as the ARC Legion and Republic Commandos, how Jango straight up altered Vode An to be personal to the clones and have it in their drills, how that the clones like it or not had roots on Mandalore, or well Concord Dawn i guess, but they had roots firmly planted in the culture, and now in canon it feels like the clones are kinda barely related to Mandalore at all, especially with how the ARC’s got treated and how the Commandos are barely there. Not only do the special forces, the unholy supersoldiers trained by the 100 trusted allies of the most dangerous Mandalorian alive and said Mandalorian himself got totally reworked our had their squads like Omega just get deleted, not to mention for the longest time it was debated if the Fett’s were even Mando’ade in the new canon, it just really rubs me the wrong way.
@@knee-deepin-doot8742 The Bad Batch has been doing a lot to bring back some of the old canon, as well as the Domino Squad episodes of Clone Wars. There were non-kaminoan trainers assisting the training of regular GAR infantry which leaves the door open for the Mandalorian trainers to have also been there. The Mando Civil Wars were also referenced in Mandalorian Season 2 so the non affiliated mercenaries from the various clans who weren't in Death Watch are around. And of course Scorch made a cameo in Bad Batch where he took the entire Batch on by himself and put up a hell of a fight.

The clones were meant to, first and foremost, be loyal to the Republic, not Mandalore, you wouldn't want as the Republic to just give Mandalore one of the best armies in the galaxy, it makes sense that their relation to Mandalore is tangential - they were not an army of Mandalorians, they were the army of the Republic.
Anyone remember that last mission of Republic Commando, where you're fighting for your lives until the Republic reinforcements come? Vode An plays during that time and it always reminds me of the warrior mentality the clones had.
CaptainFlowers very few were, the ones you could expect to have been would be arc troopers or commandos. If all got trained by mandalorians the army would be fucking unstoppable
@@TetsuShima I don't recall any of those getting anything more than standard training. The ones that were personally trained by Jango Fett were Fordo, Stec, Boss, Fixer, Sev, Scorch, Niner, Darman, Atin and pretty much the whole first generation of ARCs and RCs. Rex and Cody are just ordinary CT and CC.
Vode An never fails to give me insane goosebumps. The OG version still holds a special place in my heart but you can't deny that the new one is amazing as well.

@@facade2027 The commando primary weapon is the DC-17M, but their sidearm is a DC-15s, so this would still work as Sev could just be using his pistol. On a side note, regular clone guns have very similar names, but it's reversed. So a DC-15S is a clone carbine, and a DC-17 is the pistol you see Rex and others using in Clone Wars. Basically whoever did the naming conventions of those guns needs to be shot.
@@adityasharma6579 yeah for b1 droids it was very useful, also for trandoshian slavers. Another thing i love about it is the animation when you put it away, looks and feels amazing.
At the very end of the game where its just you and one other squad members i was in literally the last hallway. My buddy was down and with one of greivous's bodyguards breathing down my neck there was no way i could revive him. Which was a problem since i had no ammo for any of my weapons. So i took him down with nothing more than that blaster pistol and melee attacks. couldn't ahve asked for a better ending.
That one part of the game is the most "I am not trapped in a facility full of robots, you are all trapped in here with me!" a star wars game has ever gotten, and I love it. I remember going through that part of Geonosis with just the pistol multiple times, killing every single SBD I saw just because I frikkin could.

The black blade is an object with clout and deserving of much reverence, but a true Mand'alor would recover the mask of Mand'alor the First and wear it in all its splendor. Let the Empire wage war, or the Republic. Or the Separatists. Whatever the era. Come who will, what will, no matter what the galaxy throws at the children of war, it is death and battle that is the crucible in which the strong are forged. Let the galaxy burn. As an interesting little story, I used to play in a Star Wars game with my tabletop group. My character was a Zabrak Mando named Beskar'an (closest I could find to Ironclad at the time) who was obsessed with Mando history, religion, warfare - he rejected blasters as anything but a last resort and saw then as nothing short of cowardly, wielding a vibrosword and a large handheld energy shield in tandem with a jetpack to, in essence, be a terror vanguard for assaults. He served with distinction alongside the Empire's finest as a mercenary of great repute, but all the while did all he could from the shadows to avenge what had been done to his people - and more specifically his brothers (as in literal genetically related brothers, not just other Mando'ade). Too bad the whole thing fell apart, I liked playing that wrathful, crimson-clad warrior of the old ways. He was a good counterweight to our idealistic and naive jedi companion, balancing diplomacy, peace, and... well balance, with cracking skulls, belting out warcries while stabbing dudes, and instilling such bodyglove-shitting terror in the Empire' troops that some stormtroopers were actually taken alive at a few points because they were so utterly afraid of his primordial fury. Kind of turned into a Blood Angels Chaplain if you're familiar with 40k - wasn't really intentional, but he ended up turning to the old religion of Kad'harangir to justify the horrific shit he did so he wasn't just giving the Empire a taste of their own medicine. Group kinda fell apart since I had a falling out with one of the other players and no one ever showed up half the time, plus massive tonal differences between the GM of that game who kept trying to push Besk to be "better" and me, who... I never claimed my characters to be "good" people. If anything, they're all exaggerations of some aspect of my personality. But, he prefers slightly more... traditional stories, I guess? I'd classify my usual tone as verging on (if not outright) grimdark, so... understandable conflict there.

So we're playing the EOTE RPG, set in the Old Republic. It's been a number of years since the Mando Wars, but one of the plot drops we recently got was that the Mandalorian Clans are gathering on Duxon again. On the session before our last one, we stole a ship from a load of Mando Bounty Hunters, and we were forced to kill at least two or three of them. I managed to get a small bonus for performing a funeral for them, by singing Vode An.
Can you imagine a final battle scene in a republic commandos movie with the epic version in the background, blasters going off, clankers falling left and right (apologies for the c word) and our 4 boys just doin what they were created for. i’m shivering just thinking about it. threat work just absolutely great work to whoever created this
Objection : Trandoshan being of reptilian descend, they are, acording to all odds, a "cold blooded" species, and therefore have no mean of self-regulating their corporial temperture, which includes sweat. But of course, the imminent threat posed be three geneticly engieneered Mandolorian space marine analogues would surely make them sweat the body fat off there scaly xenos bodies if they could sweat.
The entire Mandalorian civilization is a monument to the art of war. Everything, from their laws and language to the clothes they wear and the ships they fly to the way they raise their children, are specifically intended to create the perfect warrior. They aren't just warriors, Mandalorians are war distilled and refined into its purest form over thousands of years. There's a reason even Jedi fear them, and they're right to. I don't think people really grasp how terrifying they'd be to fight in an all-out war. Now imagine cloning one a couple million times and you start to get a picture of why the GAR was so powerful.
You have been born into dangerous times. A sharp mind can be the key to survival. But as often as not, it will be your inherent physical traits that win the day. And in this regard you will be superior to your more common brethren. For you are a commando, an elite unit, something truly special.
I wish they'd used the Republic Commando that had been introduced into the Clone Wars instead of the "Bad Batch". The Bad Batch are right on the border of being trope caricatures. A Rambo-esque leader, the Big Guy/brick, the tech-nerd, and the ninja assassin/sniper.

As these guys were driven off by humans tribes, they searched for another planet to settle in and find one they called Mandalore after their leader, Mandalore the first.
I really hope the Mandalorian season 2 brings back Vode An and Dha Werda Verda in some way. I wouldn't even care if they're altered to remove references of the clones/republic in the mando language that's being sung since it would fit the mando culture better

It's quite incredible how that old game STILL has such a big following including myself It was after all just a single player campaign with a semi-busted multiplayer arena mode It wasn't even a massive hit or huge budget project BUT WHY DO WE ALL REMEMBER IT?
We might get a new Republic Commando game soon! The composer of the original "Vode An" shared on twitter that he got to rework the song this summer after 15 years, because he's working on a new unannounced Star Wars project! I know they could use Vode An for anything Star Wars related, but there's hope that a remaster or a sequel is on the way!
I wouldn't think about it too much. There's always a chance whatever "project" it is won't see the light of day like 1313 did. In my opinion it's likely just more Republic Commando music coming in an update to SWTOR or maybe they're adding a song from the game into Mando S3 but I can't imagine what else it could possibly be

Thats one thing that always kinda pissed me off with the new canon- the treatment of the clones and how in legends it was so explicit with how they were THE ultimate army, Jango thought it all out, included special units such as the ARC Legion and Republic Commandos, how Jango straight up altered Vode An to be personal to the clones and have it in their drills, how that the clones like it or not had roots on Mandalore, or well Concord Dawn i guess, but they had roots firmly planted in the culture, and now in canon it feels like the clones are kinda barely related to Mandalore at all, especially with how the ARC’s got treated and how the Commandos are barely there. Not only do the special forces, the unholy supersoldiers trained by the 100 trusted allies of the most dangerous Mandalorian alive and said Mandalorian himself got totally reworked our had their squads like Omega just get deleted, not to mention for the longest time it was debated if the Fett’s were even Mando’ade in the new canon, it just really rubs me the wrong way.

@@knee-deepin-doot8742 The Bad Batch has been doing a lot to bring back some of the old canon, as well as the Domino Squad episodes of Clone Wars. There were non-kaminoan trainers assisting the training of regular GAR infantry which leaves the door open for the Mandalorian trainers to have also been there. The Mando Civil Wars were also referenced in Mandalorian Season 2 so the non affiliated mercenaries from the various clans who weren't in Death Watch are around. And of course Scorch made a cameo in Bad Batch where he took the entire Batch on by himself and put up a hell of a fight.

The clones were meant to, first and foremost, be loyal to the Republic, not Mandalore, you wouldn't want as the Republic to just give Mandalore one of the best armies in the galaxy, it makes sense that their relation to Mandalore is tangential - they were not an army of Mandalorians, they were the army of the Republic.
Anyone remember that last mission of Republic Commando, where you're fighting for your lives until the Republic reinforcements come? Vode An plays during that time and it always reminds me of the warrior mentality the clones had.

Only the first generation of ARCs and RCs were personally trained by Jango Fett and Kal Skirata.

The ones that were personally trained by Jango Fett were Fordo, Stec, Boss, Fixer, Sev, Scorch, Niner, Darman, Atin and pretty much the whole first generation of ARCs and RCs. @@facade2027 The commando primary weapon is the DC-17M, but their sidearm is a DC-15s, so this would still work as Sev could just be using his pistol.
On a side note, regular clone guns have very similar names, but it's reversed. So a DC-15S is a clone carbine, and a DC-17 is the pistol you see Rex and others using in Clone Wars.
Basically whoever did the naming conventions of those guns needs to be shot.

Oh man I almost forgot about that infinite ammo blaster pistol from Republic Commando. Underpowered, but felt so satisfying to use.
Pretty sure it is the only weapon to use the projectile way while everything else was hitscan. It's very unique and has a sexy sound. I love it.
I used that for B1 droids and also for B2 droids while my squad snipes . Gotta save DC-17 blaster for trandoshans and geonoseans.
@@adityasharma6579 yeah for b1 droids it was very useful, also for trandoshian slavers. Another thing i love about it is the animation when you put it away, looks and feels amazing.
At the very end of the game where its just you and one other squad members i was in literally the last hallway. My buddy was down and with one of greivous's bodyguards breathing down my neck there was no way i could revive him. Which was a problem since i had no ammo for any of my weapons. So i took him down with nothing more than that blaster pistol and melee attacks. couldn't ahve asked for a better ending.

That one part of the game is the most "I am not trapped in a facility full of robots, you are all trapped in here with me!" a star wars game has ever gotten, and I love it. I remember going through that part of Geonosis with just the pistol multiple times, killing every single SBD I saw just because I frikkin could.

I am in agreement. The black blade is an object with clout and deserving of much reverence, but a true Mand'alor would recover the mask of Mand'alor the First and wear it in all its splendor. Let the Empire wage war, or the Republic. Or the Separatists. Whatever the era. Come who will, what will, no matter what the galaxy throws at the children of war, it is death and battle that is the crucible in which the strong are forged.

As an interesting little story, I used to play in a Star Wars game with my tabletop group. My character was a Zabrak Mando named Beskar'an (closest I could find to Ironclad at the time) who was obsessed with Mando history, religion, warfare - he rejected blasters as anything but a last resort and saw then as nothing short of cowardly, wielding a vibrosword and a large handheld energy shield in tandem with a jetpack to, in essence, be a terror vanguard for assaults. He served with distinction alongside the Empire's finest as a mercenary of great repute, but all the while did all he could from the shadows to avenge what had been done to his people - and more specifically his brothers (as in literal genetically related brothers, not just other Mando'ade). Too bad the whole thing fell apart, I liked playing that wrathful, crimson-clad warrior of the old ways. He was a good counterweight to our idealistic and naive jedi companion, balancing diplomacy, peace, and... well balance, with cracking skulls, belting out warcries while stabbing dudes, and instilling such bodyglove-shitting terror in the Empire' troops that some stormtroopers were actually taken alive at a few points because they were so utterly afraid of his primordial fury.
Kind of turned into a Blood Angels Chaplain if you're familiar with 40k - wasn't really intentional, but he ended up turning to the old religion of Kad'harangir to justify the horrific shit he did so he wasn't just giving the Empire a taste of their own medicine.
Group kinda fell apart since I had a falling out with one of the other players and no one ever showed up half the time, plus massive tonal differences between the GM of that game who kept trying to push Besk to be "better" and me, who... I never claimed my characters to be "good" people. If anything, they're all exaggerations of some aspect of my personality. But, he prefers slightly more... traditional stories, I guess? I'd classify my usual tone as verging on (if not outright) grimdark, so... understandable conflict there.

So we're playing the EOTE RPG, set in the Old Republic. It's been a number of years since the Mando Wars, but one of the plot drops we recently got was that the Mandalorian Clans are gathering on Duxon again.
On the session before our last one, we stole a ship from a load of Mando Bounty Hunters, and we were forced to kill at least two or three of them. I managed to get a small bonus for performing a funeral for them, by singing Vode An.

The entire Mandalorian civilization is a monument to the art of war. Everything, from their laws and language to the clothes they wear and the ships they fly to the way they raise their children, are specifically intended to create the perfect warrior. They aren't just warriors, Mandalorians are war distilled and refined into its purest form over thousands of years. There's a reason even Jedi fear them, and they're right to. I don't think people really grasp how terrifying they'd be to fight in an all-out war.
Now imagine cloning one a couple million times and you start to get a picture of why the GAR was so powerful.
Use this in Battlefront II, and you can defeat any clanka army that challenges you.

I wish they'd used the Republic Commando that had been introduced into the Clone Wars instead of the "Bad Batch". The Bad Batch are right on the border of being trope caricatures. A Rambo-esque leader, the Big Guy/brick, the tech-nerd, and the ninja assassin/sniper.

The Clone Commando's are extremely awesome next to the Alpha Class ARC Troopers they are the best the Republic has to offer.

We might get a new Republic Commando game soon! The composer of the original "Vode An" shared on twitter that he got to rework the song this summer after 15 years, because he's working on a new unannounced Star Wars project! I know they could use Vode An for anything Star Wars related, but there's hope that a remaster or a sequel is on the way!

I wouldn't think about it too much. There's always a chance whatever "project" it is won't see the light of day like 1313 did. In my opinion it's likely just more Republic Commando music coming in an update to SWTOR or maybe they're adding a song from the game into Mando S3 but I can't imagine what else it could possibly be
