Yes.. I faced the same..! We had to go for a *CSR* event .. [ it took 3 hours (4.30 pm to 7.30pm] for us to cover 7km .. the way back to office 🏬] It's not a new phenomenon ( but today the traffic was too much as.. today most of the people have gone to office due to Hartal yesterday [Tue] and [Fri] there's another one. So all the people commuted to offices 🏬 at the same time ( to cover the work from office days) ..! I'm skeptical if things will go well.. if 5 days work for office starts for all the companies!!!! It will be a chaos
1. Ban Trucks and heavy vehicle till 11pm 2. Make compulsory for IT-Parks to run shuttle services regularly from the main gate to the respective offices 3. Make BMTC And metro passes easily accessible ( deliver to home ) 4. Allow share-autos and private travellers 5. High parking fees on parked cars and tempo in heavy traffic areas
Definitely agree on banning heavy vehicles till 11am. Because this is implemented in Hyderabad as well. Travel buses that generally operate in evening to go out stations also needs rules. I suggest long distance travel buses should have a different route to exit from Bengaluru rather than adding traffic to office commuters.
The speaker starts by putting the blame on people! There are hardly any roads in the city which are a great reason for the jams (we actually maneuver through potholes to find patches of road) with minimum rain situation becomes like hell. There are no redlights. There are no skywalks on the roads (for pedestrians to cross), some which exist are in terrible shape and none have escalators. The Bus services are hard to figure out. Metro is just a small patch. If you try cycling for commute you do it with your life in your hands. No place to walk on the roads. Bengaluru has become a symbol of everything which can go wrong with a mega metropolis! Strong steps are needed by Administration to make things work even minutely.
It's cause outsiders are continuously filling up. It's not their problem it's their states problem to not providing facilities. It's over population concern in specific area can cause health issue so ask people to go back to their cities and ask their state government to provide facilities
Living in that area, I can tell you the frequency of buses are less. There’s no last mile connectivity to the metro stations and most companies are pressuring employees to return to office for a minimum of three days a week. Moreover, there’s no footpath and roads are extremely narrow considering high volume of offices and apartments. Nobody wants to travel in Uber given the high fees associated. Public commute is just one tiny part of the solution. We can’t turn a blind eye to all the other issues and say that public doesn’t want to use public transport
Leaving Bengaluru, moving to Hyderabad! Very confident next 20 yrs traffic problems with,Suberban railway, metro, flyovers problem will not be solved it will just add ugly makeover & added population ! Basic problem of city is Roads WIDTH policy paralacis! Now you can't demolish row of buildings on tiny narrow roads with no parking lot many street vendors specially in conjusted area of unplanned City!!!
I think we should stop normalizing these delays. Just saying that this happens we are used to it is not right. We have to face the fact that from 2020 the population has increased many folds. And the metro is already delayed. I wished metro was in place 5-10 years ago and all these people would have started using metro instead of buying there own vehicles. I think I am one of the very few people of my age who is still to buy a car in Bangalore in hopes of metro running in near future. All my friends have opted to get stuck in traffic in there air-conditioned 4 wheelers rather than standing in crowded 4 wheeler or struggling in 2 wheeler
It was not only ORR, the entire east Bangalore was jam packed including whitefield area also. I travelled from Brookfield to CV Raman nagar and it took 3.5 hours. Only efficient public transportation can resolve this issue. But governments has no control over public transportation. Aap metro bana rahe ho har jagah, but ghar se metro station jaane k liye, metro station se destination jaane k liye conveyance thik nehi hai. Uncontrolled auto rickshaw will demand 200 Rs each side. Toh koi kyun metro / bus avail karega? Apna vehicle se hi travel larega.
Sir, Untill metro work finish ban the cars coming office single. If ban the car it has complete solution 2) start the Volvo services from inside the company premises from ecospace itpl all big tech park's bus facilities from inside the campus in off hrs
Sir cant agree to the points you make. Yes buses are there but have you seen how stuffed and overcrowded they are. Again on the metro..its all half measures. No metro station on the purple line has decent enough oarking space. How do you expect people to reach metro if no last mile connectivity is provided? The autos simply loot people for a short 2-3 km ride to metro stations putting off even more peope from using it. About feeder buses, It takes 30-45 minites to cross bayapanhalli to krpuram. Why are we still waiting for ribbon cutting only for ego of some politician when clearance is already given.
This is all due the concentration of all businesses in one place. At least now people and governments should start decentralising and developing other places like for example Mysuru in this case.
The problem is bcoz of uncontrolled migration from other states. This should b stopped. Else, no amt of roads, flyovers, metros will solve the problem.
With all due respect, if Bangalore is becoming an economic engine, there ought to be infrastructure planning. The city is experiencing exponential growth but infrastructure is unable to match the growth. Traffic jam is just not on ORR, the whole city is choked during peak hours. No doubt we all should use public transport but the underlying issue here is poor infrastructure planning to match the scaled growth.
A simple solution is to run non stop free shuttles between silk board and marthahalli/krpuram and bill can be picked up by ORR Companies, state and central governments.
Both the speakers blabbering while at home. Guys - where's the safe footpath to walk? Where's the space in ORR buses either? Where's the safe lane for cycles?
Who is forcing us to use our cars where is the infra of public transport. Who is forcing us to work from office ? Why govt or so called organizations supporting shared auto, shared taxi, bike taxi etc, All this metro will only take us to office but where is last mile connectivity from home you want people who live 1-5 kms inside from main road to take individual autos shelling out 200-500 rs one side and catch metro Sir people also live in whitefield and other locations other than what you just described like malleswaram, indiranagar etc these are high end posh areas not everyone live there ... All politics
Metro in ORR is like Oasis, till the time its not open, its a myth!! And so with "sooo manyyy" public transport options, people are bound to use their private vehicles. Its not their fault, its the administration's!!
Just imagin all the people who are traveling in long distence trains day and night disembarked at a time and look for a room to take rest, most of them have to sit on road side.
Pooresr of the poor quality roads. With rhe main roads being. Occupied for metro construction, rhe secondary roads are pothole ridden. Taking vehicle out is a crime? ! What nonsense. We pay hefty taxes to get our vehicles. When govt takes so much of road rax , tax on petrol, it shoukd ensure good quality roada for. Smooth commute which they do not. Addressing widening of bottle neck points will help.
Nature will soon close all IT parks and companies in bangalore, coz original bangalore has to be restored by nature... Non kannada people are reason for all this mess and destruction of our heavenly place bangalore

Car pooling is best method and companies should give conveyance to employees to start car pooling their company employees

Rightly mentioned!!
It's cause outsiders are continuously filling up. It's not their problem it's their states problem to not providing facilities. It's over population concern in specific area can cause health issue so ask people to go back to their cities and ask their state government to provide facilities

Walked 4kms today to reached home in 50mins. My friend stuck in bus for 2 hours to reaced 3kms

The bus lane should have been an extra lane rather than converting the existing lane to one. It also made riding riskier for two wheelers.
Most people use cars, mostly occupied by 1 person.
Sir,
Untill metro work finish ban the cars coming office single. If ban the car it has complete solution

Send all IT companies out of Bangalore.
I left job because half of time on road . 9 hours in office. Decided not to spend life on roads

Good selection
High time that Bengaluru transfers some weight off its shoulders to Belagavi. So that the name and fame of Namma Karnataka remains in prosperity.
Today I have boarded BMTC at SilkBoard at 6:18 pm and I have reached Marthahalli at 9:10 pm, it took around 3 hours to cover 12 kms.
Man that's crazy.
The problem is bcoz of uncontrolled migration from other states. This should b stopped. Else, no amt of roads, flyovers, metros will solve the problem.
when it is natural what can you do. Metro line construction started few years ago. Another few years you have to suffer.
Bus coverage is pathetic in Bengaluru. That is why people don’t prefer the only currently available public transport 😢
With all due respect, if Bangalore is becoming an economic engine, there ought to be infrastructure planning. Just keep work from for 10 years ...make city properly then open it. This is nonsense which we are facing everyday

Close all IT parks in bangalore except people who are born in karnataka everyone else must go out of bangalore
only city in country where you can run big trucks in the city in peak hours
Just imagin all the people who are traveling in long distence trains day and night disembarked at a time and look for a room to take rest, most of them have to sit on road side.
worst duscussion ... there are no proper roads in bangalore ...this city is going to be doomed in next 5 yrs if nothing is done

Waste discussion, no infrastructure, no roads, no proper public transport and then speaker blames ppl for taking out vehicles
Who is naive enough to think that logging off at 5 PM is a good idea.
Leave at 3 or leave at 9
Stop complaning guys. It is bound to happen. Over population. Every one needs a car.
Nature will soon close all IT parks and companies in bangalore, coz original bangalore has to be restored by nature... Non kannada people are reason for all this mess and destruction of our heavenly place bangalore
