The German band Kraftwerk made synthesizer music before synthesizers existed! Autobahn was created in 1972 and this is where music like house or techno is born. Their songs are the blueprints for it. Early rappers also call them a role model because of there combination of chanting and rhythm. But here it was Trans Europa Express:
TEE Trans Europe Express VT11.5 (English Version)
That makes Kraftwerk one of the most influential bands ever.

@MetalHead5368 Dark Side of the Moon is released in 1973. The synthesizers of that time could only generate pre-programmed tones. What they still lack is sampling, which can be used to alienate existing tones. Therefore, Kraftwerk drag vocoders onto the stage and alienate, for example, the typing of a pocket calculator or voices. They have to build their own electronic drum kit. Only about 10 years later there are the synthesizers that Kraftwerk needs and only then their music can be further developed by other artists. That's why they are the pioneers of electronic music. Pink Floyd were and are one of the most influential rock bands. But in the end just one of many rock bands.

Hey Frank-Peter! Good to see you again! Thanks for the info behind Kraftwerk. I had no idea that this song was so old! I have to say I thought it sounded like something from the past 25-30 years. Perhaps I'll find a different song of theirs that I like better. And just because I didn't care for this one on first listen doesn't mean I won't ever like it. Some of my most favorite metal songs were songs that I didn't like on my first listen and I had to grow into them. Nobody can like everything though. 🤘Thanks for watching!🤘 Kelly

The fact that they sound younger shows how far ahead they were.
In the US, that was actually there most successful title. In the UK this came in at number 1, here in the English version. There is also a German (because they are German) and a Spanish one:
Kraftwerk - the Model (official video)
There's also a Rammstein cover of it:

@MetalHead5368 The first synthesizers were invented twice already in 1963+64. They are immediately used by various artists, including Kraftwerk and Pink Floyd. None of the very first users is still world-famous today. You can find these synthesizers in the children's section today because they are no longer used. These are children's toys today. The development of the synthesizer was not yet finished. That's what I meant by "they used synthesizers before they existed". Kraftwerk has recognized the potential and is trying to compensate for the lack of sampling. In the 1980s, a music revolution starts based on their experiences. That's why Kraftwerk's influence is much bigger than Pink Floyd's, even if Pink Floyd sold a lot more records.

Thank you for reacting to my recommended song and for being honest.
I don't know if you can remember it: I recommended this song to you, to show you, to which kind of music the band Rammstein payed hommage to (in parts) with their song "Radio".
This came out first the 1970's and Kraftwerk were one of the major pioneers of modern electronic music. In our time this is of course a little oldfashioned. But this was the music, that inspired (at parts) Rammstein's song "Radio".
But this is of course not really something for a rock/metal reaction channel.
I'm recommending something more modern and harder (and shorter...😎):
The band "We Butter The Bread with Butter" and their song "20 km/h".
    Greetings
    Mega

Hey Megatwingo! I didn't realize this song was nearly 50 years old because it sound like something that could've been made within the past 30 years. I'm sorry that I didn't like this one. I tried but perhaps they have a song I might like better. I mean, Metallica is my favorite band but I still don't like everything they've put out so, you never know.
I appreciate the suggestion and have added it to the list. Very odd name so that's got me curious. Always good to see ya! 🤘Thanks for watching!🤘 Kelly

Good thing the corner featured bong rips 'n tater chips as Kraftwerk is indeed stoner approved but must never be played with Pink Floyd made after Syd Barrett left the band. Hey e'body! Granny Kelly is nicknamed "Humphrey" as she kinda camped with the bong too long! Hahahahaha Gotcha Granny K! Rock onnnnnnnnnnn and ooonnn!

If you listen to more Kraftwerk, might I make a couple suggestions. I am biased towards their first four albums (70-74) as I thought they were more progressive and experimental. I would suggest the studio stuff, the missing flute in the live version of Autobahn that you listened to was a real disappointment. Their albums from 1975 to date got way more techno and computer created sounding, so I frankly didn't care for them nearly as much.
A couple of good early songs to react to IMO are:
    Ruckzuck 1970
    Tanzmusik 1973
In 2013 writer Alan Cross called Kraftwerk "The Most Influential Band in the World".

Greetings and Love from Köln/Cologne, Germany again. Awe, you're so kind and took that subcriber request. Sadwise it was just 'Eine Kleine Nachtmusik'. A wonder you didnt fall asleep after 3 minutes.🤤😆 Well, i get 'Megatwingo's' idea behind it. Yes, Kraftwerk was an Inspiration for Rammstein, of course. But Holy Moses...sorry, but shame on you, Megatwingo. To request the 66 minutes long version of 'Autobahn'..? First: Rammsteins song 'Radio' was a homemage to Kraftwerks song 'Radioaktivität'.
You should have request instead the much better song 'Das Model' from Kraftwerk. And in comparson Rammsteins cover of 'Das Model'...running time for both: bout 10-12 minutes. However, and now you request 'We Butter the Bread with Butter'.? Okidok...funny band, kind of One Hit Wonder music, in my opinion. Sorry, as an oldschool Metalhead, i can't stand this 'Deathcore'/ Trancecore stuff. Please don't mind, Megatwingo, but look, Granny likes Maiden, Metallica..etc. an easy song request from me: Granny, my Lovelylady, for bringing me back some nostalgic, sweet memories could you please try the song 'Future World' from the danish Metalband 'Pretty Maids'.? I'm sure, it's your cup of Tea and you would make me, an old Metalhead, very happy...thank you, my dear. (btw. are getting prettier day by day.?) PEACE & stay safe🌈💚🐾🎸

Hey Stefan!! Great to see ya again. It's been a while. I tried to like it and it was fun at first but then I was bored because it didn't really change much. I was just glad there was a video (even though it was a bit repetitive too) to keep me from falling asleep. I haven't given up on Kraftwerk. I don't like every song Metallica has put out so maybe this song is like one of those.
I'm a bit nervous about the deathcore/trancecore stuff. I like growly stuff but I'm not sure how I'd feel about the entire song being growled. I suppose I'll find out though 😂
Ah, you've made me blush. Flattery will get you everywhere so of course I would love to check out Pretty Maids. 😁 Stay safe and well my friend. 🤘Thanks for watching!🤘 Kelly

I always thought, what if Kraftwerk would have invested in an real Singer, instead of Concept driven Announcer Style(f.E. Depeche Mode). All Cudos for Pioneering, it was simply not appealing in any Ways for me. The Song Model, you couldnt escape back then, the Radio shoved it down your Ears on an hourly Base feltwise, was somehow medicore, after hearing it , like 500 Times.)?
Thx for you Honesty, and Bravery:)

Hey Alexander! Yeah, I've had a lot of songs that I really liked ruined for me because the radio station played it every 5 minutes (like everything from Michael Jackson's Thriller album. I still can't listen to it.). It's possible that they may have another song that I'll like after all, I don't like every song that Metallica, Zeppelin or Sabbath has put out. It's always tough to say you don't like something that someone else really likes but I have to be honest. I'm always more than a little skeptical of reactors that never hear a song they don't like. Nobody can like everything; it's not natural. I tried to like it but just couldn't. Always a delight to see ya man!! Stay safe and well my friend. 🤘Thanks for watching!🤘 Kelly

Yeah, Kelly I couldn't get into this either. Not into techno music. Looking forward to a react of one of my recommendations. Keep rocking Kelly.

Hey Mark!! Yeah, I can't be fake even if it means I lose subscribers or I get mean comments. I tried to like it but just couldn't. If the song had been shorter OR if it hadn't been pretty much the same melody over and over it might've been ok. I'm like you, I've never really been into techno so 14 minutes of repetition was just short of torture. Rammstein has about all the techno I want, y'know? Great to see ya and be well hun. 🤘Thanks for watching!🤘 Kelly

When this came out in the early 70's I thought " what's this crap". Now after listening to it again my question is still the same. Some at the time said that it was ahead of its time. I don't think we have reached that time yet lol....And now for something completely different. In 1984ish Demis Roussos brought out an album called Attitudes. This album was a total change in style for Demis and a brilliant album was created. Demis's version of "House of the rising sun" is one of the best versions I have ever heard. I think it's worth a review Granny.

    • @stefanstock953
      @stefanstock953 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Demis was a great, greek singer. R.I.P. Sucsessful with german Schlagermusik (Folklore music). In 1982 he change his style a little bit with this Album 'Attitude'. In the eighties that style was called 'Electro Pop'. And, sorry, in my opinion there's only one best version of 'The House of the Rising Sun', namely the original. Most great songs shouldn't be covered. Especialy when 'Eric Burden' is the singer.(..outstanding voice, damn). Stay safe...& UP THE IRONS 666
