I know you have a long way to go to get her restored, but just seeing it moving, I can imagine it moving under her own power. You must be so satisfied to see those old tracks moving again. Cheers from the USA!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahhh the whole tank is made of pots , pans and Park railings .. just lasting long enough to do the job it's incredible that this still exists 😊 Great work chaps .. I would love to be able to get involved with something like this 👍👍👍
It's a lot easier than you think, it's not full of holes like most of the wrecks we have had in the yard, you just have to have the time and the vision, most people would walk away, but we are all nutters ;-)
@@514thmick Hi MIck, Salutations to you and yours. My Dad was REME from Matilda to Chieftain. A vehicles all his life.. So, I grew up to the sound of Clanking mate! Good luck to you and mind ya fingers.
Meanwhile, the Russian tanks that were taken out of the swamp: We are ready to fight again!! After clearing the Тank inside of the swamp mud, you can sit down and press the brake to direct the Tank to the trailer. I saw it on the video. Which was amazing 😲
That Russian tanks you watched had not been worked all its life on an Australian farm, I have worked on a lot of Russian tanks, they are crap, sharp edges, bad castings, burn more oil than fuel when you can get them running..
@@514thmick I enjoy what you guys are doing....restoring history so the future generations will never forget what our veterans sacrificed for them...thank you
Well we like working on our own stuff, a major part of finishing a restoration off is knowing its your own work that got it running. We know Joe Hewes well, we buy and sell parts to each other but I don't think even he would want to take this on, he likes his more modern stuff, we like the vehicles that nobody else is willing to take on and do it on a shoe string budget.
Thank you for helping to keep another little bit of our history from being forgotten, gentlemen ( and any ladies involved, of course ).
Our pleasure!

I love the sound of tha
6V53, it has been a few years since I last heard one.
You have a kind of neat stuff to play with. I see Cleatracs also!
There is a much bigger shed on the site, full of cool stuff.
@@514thmick it looks like a fabulous place to be!
Just watched your vid "Guiberson radial diesel engine, M3 Stuart Tank" we have one of them turning up soon. very cool.
@@514thmick the Guiberson was quite a project. I have the Army manuals and some spare parts if you need something? Thanks for watching my videos!

very nice restoration hope it goes well
Me too!
What an awkward beast to maintain. You guys are taking on one hell of a task to restore this one.
What a fantastic opportunity to restore a piece of this countries history. I bet sometimes it's infuriating and rewarding in equal measure. 👍
It really is!
Great to shake the rust off her and see her moving on her tracks. Queen of the desert.
Certainly not the best condition! Im interested to see how it will be restored.
Check out some of the Sherman wrecks we have got running, this is an easy one, its not full of holes
DD6V53 sound is ❤
The Aussies goin'.....Rollin' Matilda? Joke dryer than the North African campaign..
So there you were on ebay after a few libations and it said "Ideal easy first restoration". ?

Great project, I am enjoying the progress. Did you get it from Australia?
Yes we did
@@514thmick the Australian Armour and Artillery museum may be able to help source a turret
We have some ideas a bit closer
Well the vehicles close to 90 years old so you do have to expect a bit of rust and wear and tare....
11:18, OH Yeah, the Tracks are FREE!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you got the turret for this.

Well we never did and the track moves now

Get this to Mr Hewes IMMEDIATELY
I think he has his own toys to play with, why would we give him ours?
Sharing is caring lol. In all honesty, I just like tank enthusiasts working on projects like this together!

That’s good to know! Wishing you the best of luck with Matilda, hope she can become at least museum-worthy, if not a runner.
