    Tokyo nights are magical enough and don't need to put filters on the lens. 😃Anyway thanks for the video.

    I'm personally a great fan of the blue flare cause I like the sci-fi look and feel . The glow filters were also great but the best part has to be their ease of use and nifty design

    hmmm...Those streaky lenses look pretty fun. I might need to check these out. I sometimes use a glimmerglass or a promist filter already.

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I think pro mist is similar to the glow mists that I used.

  • @-grey

    The streaks look pretty cool. Almost like anamorphic flare. You could really find some cool colour contrasts with those.
    I don't enjoy the mist filters so much, they are more reminiscent of a greasy haze or finger print smudge on the lens rather than a cinematic mist effect. I feel compelled to wipe them down with an alcohol swab or something. 😂

    I love the videos! Keep ‘em coming.
    Also the 1/8 filters are useful for longer focal lengths like 85mm. The 1/4 are perfect on wider lenses. The 1/4 filter has such a powerful effect on telephoto lenses.

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! And that's interesting. I didn't think the effect intensified with focal length, but it makes sense now that you mentioned it. :)

  • @laxcdn

    Couldn't you use a step down ring to use those filters on the 40mm?

      Yep, totally can. But it's not ideal. :)

    Fun video. My two thoughts would be that the streak use would be good with a editorial or model shoot. To create cinematic background of Tokyo to a model in the front. My second thought would be to controll the streaks a bit more by using a tripod. Shooting the same view twice. One with the glow, and one with the streaks and then in Photoshop selectively paint in the streaks you want via a layer mask. Even if people moved, the streaks are mostly on stationery lights. Could be a great concept and scene to draw the viewers eye where you want it. Cool test! I only have the Nisi BlackMistPro 1/8th on my Fujifilm X100V for night street shooting.

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, with a tripod and editing them selectively, you can have a lot of control. But that sounds like a ton of work haha. :)

    Great video as always,
    May i ask for your advice, how do you add an “emotion” to a photo?because some picture can make you feel a “certain feeling” like lonely or romantic or any other feeling
    Thank you 😁

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! I wish I knew. I feel certain emotions when I see the scene. Then I shoot it how I see it and the emotion is there when I look at the photo. It will not move every one in the same way though. :)

    Great work as always, you guys!
    Thank you for actually mentioning about the ability to combine the streak filters with the glow mist, especially which order to put them on.
    It definitely reminds me of the city look in the original Blade Runner.
    And would I just use 2 magnetic caps to cover the front and back of the filters when I want to put them in my pocket?

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. And yes, I just used the magnetic caps on them. This method works very well! :)

    I was curious about those kind of filters as i've seen some ads here and there about them.
    And by seeing your video it confort my though about them : those can be cool and fun to use for specific situations.
    As @jtpettersen said, I'm thinking by taking 2 pictures one with the effect and another without and do an edit on photoshop could provide really interesting photos and would provide more control over the effect too.
    Thanks for sharing this video about those filters.

    I prefer less contrasty look of old glass. I think in some situations diffusion filters are very useful with modern lenses.

    The streak filters imo really work best when you keep them vertical to have horizontal flares to fake anamorphic, other angles look weird to me unless you're going for very specific shots.

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting. I find horizontal / vertical to be boring, but the angles look cool to me, even if not 'realistic'. :)

  • @paulm8157

    Plausible demo and promo. Venue lights show off filter effects well. I imagine these add another layer of complexity to composing an image - more to consider. No? Effect should not be prime subject.
    Have you tried the filters w/a polarizer or ND filter?
    Bic Camera suitable background for intro😁.
    BTW, don’t recall if you’ve ever done a vid at a Japanese street festival - drummers, costumes, et al. Would be something special, IMO.
    Looks like more folks were wearing masks than in other earlier vids.

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, the effect should definitely not be the main thing, that's for sure! I think a festival video like that would be great. There are some festivals coming up in the fall. We'll need to schedule some. :)
