I find it amazing that I can't understand a word of what this reviewer is saying, yet I get more out of his product demonstrations than I do out of almost anyone else on TH-cam.
Absolutely incredible. I spent years using VSTs and various native DAW soft synths, and completely forgot how lost I'd get in PHYSICALLY tweaking a sound to perfection. Even with a small microkorg I took everywhere. Using refx nexus, Sylenth, NI reaktor, kontakt, eastwest etc is its own animal. Yes. And it's definitely taking music to new places. But something about this dude being able to physically create the envelopes and LFO's that any kid with a macbook and some beats headphones is trying to replicate is godlike. No flimsy launchpad and abletonlive combo will give you the control this shit can give you. Or any analog synth for that matter. You can youtube how to make some wub-wub shit in massive and call yourself an artist, or grow some balls and shape what's inside your sound.
Fantastic!!! You are VERY good at demonstrating synths, even though I do not understand any Japanese :P The energy you make, and the joy you have when playing with the synths. It is very fun to watch! :)
I own many synths. The Origin is, still after all those years, an amazing, fat sounding synth with endless possibilities that leaves Viruses, Prophets, Peaks and many other synths of the last 2 decades in the dark.
I have this one and also Roland v synth gt… Sometimes I run them throug my Ensoniq eps 16 13 bit synth… And then sample it back into the Roland Mv8000…. It is an incredible possibilty!! Add some of my sh-101 and then sample in my ASR-88… of u Wanna hear just ask!
The Origin is a masterpiece and how it never caught on is beyond me. It is easily one of the most sophisticated and beautiful sounding synths ever designed - And I don't say that lightly. It is one of the most versatile synths ever created and I think the day will arrive when you will not be able to get one for love of money. Hats off to Arturia for designing this, but they no longer support it which is a crying shame. The encoders can go a bit jittery and I'm dreading the day the screen dies. Amazing synth though.
so, is it my impression or was this built to compete with the Korg RADIAS? 4 timbres, 30 voices, 3 SEQs, awfully similar. ...though I´d admit the modular slots are something else altogether.
This guy does great demos just wish there was a translation or CC option. BTW, does anyone else think it funny [or ironic] that this guy speaks in foreign, and the synth controls are written in english?
TIp: While the effects on the Origin aren't bad, try running the output through something high-end, like a Eventide, and you'll discover a whole new dimension.
"I can be any number of things that have not changed" "I'll kill various people involuntarily" "This controller has the same white sand of Kennan as a high-corporate, two people from npo corporation."
If I had the money, I would rather buy the Origin Desktop - for 3 simple reasons: for £500 less it does exactly the same, the keyboard is only 61 keys and being used to a full size piano for nearly 45 years, my right hand keeps falling off when playing on a 61 and lastly the look - it reminds me of my grannies 70's knitting machine, seriously guys what a terrible design! If you buy the Origin desktop plus the Arturia Keylab 88, you get the best of both for exactly the same price - I don't get it...
+George Tempest The origin keyboard seems to have poly aftertouch, it's a big plus (and cost more). I don't see the Arturia Keylab 88 have poly aftertouch (I don't know if there is a 88 key poly aftertouch keyboard).
"I'll do anything for this"..."this is the best in analog" and things like that. You are simply INFATUATED BY THE PANEL!...that's the reality! Close your eyes and listen to the sound.....do you really think it is the best??? People at mood are laughing. Dave Smith is laughing. Many companies are lauthing!!! There is so much stuff less expensive that sounds so much better!
It seems arteria has devolved in the last fourteen years, instead of evolved.Just my opinion. People still paying lots of Money for way less than this has to offer arteria today. Do they have anything like this? Absolutely, not not one of there. Hardware sense or software sense has a display like this. Can anyone riddle me that? I'm sorry this is just disgusting

Another winner. That aftertouch response is very nice! Thanks for another great video

What I like about this video is the guy who can actually play the product then just talk about it.
I still love mine. Been a owner of the rack since day one.
AMAZING PIECE OF GEAR
New update 1.4 adds the SEM osc and filters. Rockin!

Hahahahahahaahah...yeah right!
Arturia is an AMAZING company!!! I use all their stuff and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! Better than ANY other analog shit out there!!!
i love all your demonstrations!
Thank you!!

Katsunori-san saiiko!!!
I understand "SUGOI" and I couldn't agree more!!!
YES....I have the Analog Lab keyboard and software and it is AMAZING...You can get one used for under 250.

music made by prophet 08, minimoog voyager, arturia origin...
check out!
is this sounds the same engine with arturia vst synth series? i wish i had one amazing !
@AnalogX1 I think it's because he actually can play piano. Not like most other reviewers who just hit random keys
I want it
This dude can play, I need this synth!
thi Kboard its to expensive for me in Argentina. Can you recomend me another arturia product. Could be the lab?
Nice filters!
Why can't Arturia put that in a plugin? Surely it would be more powerful running on a pc?
man ill do anything for this synth!

***** No not the Radias. It was unique during its time, comparable only to the Bowen Solaris, and the Nord modular.
oh wow. I didn´t know the Solaris!
Merci pour la démo...
from BELGIUM ;o)
what song is it at 3:51 ? :p Damn he knows how to play the piano .. THUMBS up for this guy
I gotta get one of these before the deadstock dries up and its $10,000 on eBay.
I bought one and I can assure you you won't be disappointed if you buy one.
Very good
these translated subtitles are so hilarious and surreal
GOOD JOB , AMIGO !
I cant write any new sounds to it,nothing happens
11:49 pink floyd ARP bassline!
Get this unit!!!
This guy does great demos just wish there was a translation or CC option. BTW, does anyone else think it funny [or ironic] that this guy speaks in foreign, and the synth controls are written in english?
Add english subtitles please! :D

Indeed. The FX section is the weakest part on this synth. But I will never sell my Origin. Never.
I could care less about what he's saying. The fact that he actually PLAYS the damn thing in this video is awesome!
I run this through a preamp and it sounds fat
Exactly what I do. It sounds FAT.
Luckily the Joystick is marked... "Joystick" ;-)
mam, gram, wiem co może, tak, jest jednym z najlepszych i ciągłe rośnie... poprzez aktualizacje, jest komputerem
so gotta HAVE this :D:D:D:D
super toll
this bloke is a wizard with synths ,i wish he could speak english that would even be better ,,
Unbelievable..
You guys gotta turn on the english subtitles, they make absolutely no sense lol
"I can be any number of things that have not changed"
"I'll kill various people involuntarily"
"This controller has the same white sand of Kennan as a high-corporate, two people from npo corporation."
9:05 THE AUDIENCE IS LISTENING
i wont 2 ,,
Banzai
sounds thin : (
Fantastic synth --it's such a shame their customer service is one of the worst in any business.
Gabriel Magister really?
Sounds like a Casio

5 * * * * * DEMO
sounds like an excellent VST....not more. Buy a little yellow DSI MOPHO..real analog...it's cheap and it blows "Arturia Origin" away
On youtube it sounds like a vst. In real life the Origin sounds better then my Deepmind and as good as my Matrix 12
wantwantwantomfgwant
#@!
o_o its not better, maybe different.
This shit don't have any PCB with DSP processor... .
Actually the sound is generated by two dsp processors
now...play mario bros theme!!!
god dam adverts

It's very clear you don't own an Origin...it sounds as good as my Matrix 12.
Sounds like a softsynth. Bad transients, bad lows and highs.
