This video is a perfect example of the weak meta-lord attitude :-( We did this place quite happily 'back in the day' with warrior and druid tanks, packs one by one etc, with two melee DPS, even with a Druid healer with the Warrior. "This is the only way it works" is just retail attitude applied to Classic. Get good, there's a thousand ways to do it.
Why in the hell would we grab an entire room? Just like you said, play smart and make normal pulls. ADHD is a helluva disorder. I am in Classic to avoid that disorder.
We have been running it with a prot warrior, two fury warriors, an enchance shaman and a holy pala clearing it casually in 30 minutes 😂 this dude legit sucks
You don't need a double warlock mage composition for this dungeon. You can pull these packs one at a time if you do them in the proper order and skip the mobs on the sides in a few places
I'm on my 14th heroic run on my pally tank for my boots. Almost all your problems are a lack of knowledge. packs respawning? Just kill legionnaire first. Side packs pulling, just get the legionnaire out of range so he can't call them. Getting oneshot? just need hunter mage or shaman, they can slow enough for you to stutter step and reduce your incoming damage to a point you can be healed though it. Last boss, if druid have him keep hots rolling on himself, shaman earthshield himself, pally pray, priest self bubble. tank him at opening and zerg boss, tank grabs all adds. its a dps race. I have done it with every possible setup, the only constant being a class that can aoe slow. what are you going to do in the hard instances?
@@mrillis9259 would probably work. hardest part is not leaving the warrior in mele range if i outdistance the mobs. Lucky for me #17 was my lucky run so haven't been back in a while.
I dunno, I did both, spell cleave and cc comps with mage and hunter, never really had problems with this dungeon, in fact on hc its one of my favorites, cause it gives so many badges.
spent about 3 hours in heroic shat halls and made the timer by about a min spent almost all of the dungeon wiping on the first packs, tank leaves, find another, wipe, tank leaves, find another then we actully got to the first boss, wiped, tank stayed after i offered him 50g, dps had to go, we had to find another, then we wiped a few times on some trash and FINALLY got to the last boss, wiped, then killed him and had to go into the mini boss while the healer was oom cause we had like 30sec on the timer and killed him, i will never go back to there again
Did it 4 times Heroic and finally don't need to do it again after today. The team was a Bear, Boomkin, Mage, Rogue(me) and Holy Paladin. Not best group comp in any way but it was a great run because we synergised so well. Got that clean executioner axe just in time 🪓
How does a Feral and Rogue synergize with a boomkin, mage or Holy Paladin, and vice versa? The only thing a Boomkin synergizes with, is spellcasters/spellcleaves, and the only thing a Feral bear synergizes with, is 2-4 target physical cleaves(Warriors/Hunters/Rogues) as swipe isn't truely AoE, and thus can't handle true AoE dps. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the comp(although I'd never go with it) just.. you can't really call it synergistic, at all, since its far from it.

I got it on normal my first run with my prot pally. Just spam on LFG chat stating that you want to run Shattered Halls for rep and you'll get whispered immediately.
Everything is easy in TBC if you approach it corectly. Group comp, SR gear for pandemonium etc. Its not about geting good, its about understanding the game and executing it accordingly. As warrior tank its very important to mark up, with cc in group in concidering, build threat on X mark, taunt skull so you take over threat from the top dps on it, use disarm on heathens in particular and concussion blow the third target and tab between for threat where needed. And when approaching the gauntlets, it helps to CC the outer edged mob's that are closest to the side packs to avoid the buged chain-pulling that occurs, and nuke leggionaire to avoid him summoning more to the fight. And the rogues doesnt really have a large proximity where they patrol, they are very easy to prepare for; move forward in berserk stance and use berserk rage to get out of it or have someone else move in front and you intervene them, or aoe on the area, or flare or have your warlock summon felhunter for stealth detect, or even bring stealth detect consumable if you feel like its needed. There are many ways to deal with this. And yes, the intent now, as it was in the boss design is for the group to spread, have ranged claim 1 corner each(Healer prefered on one of the far corners to not have immediate add agro on them), mellee stack as far behind the boss they can while still being able to hit him to avoid sweeping strikes cleave.

The video neglected to mention this tiny little fact: the 6 pack pulls before the second boss? Some of them can dispel your crowd control effects. Fun stuff.
One of my favourite dungeons. It's simple to tank on my warrior. Just bring a slow and focus legionnaires. Warriors have 3 taunts, 2 stuns and intervene. It's great to run for tanking practice.
This is one of the better dungeons imo. It actually teaches players to use CC. That's the ENTIRE POINT of this place. I main a mage, this place is childs play (even when fire or arcane). Sap, sheep, hunters trapping, warlocks can fear, all of this works. The only mob you CANT CC are the Captains. Tank those. If you make a group, just assign marks to players so they can use their classes CC. Makes this completely doable without coms.
I started out doing HH and LC heroics, and later on doing Sha'tar dungeons. Was anyone else shocked at how easy the blood elf heroics were compared to SH and BF?
Did this place on heroic with an ele shammy, rogue and a warlock on my warrior tank. We proceeded to chainwipe six or seven times on those big 6- and 7-packs after blood guard Porong. We could sap one of the adds but out undergeared shammy healer would get oneshot if even one mob got to her and earthbind totem did not seem to be enough CC to keep them off our warlock either. Next run, I brought another tank with me (another warrior) and we duotanked the place with no issues and no wipes. If you wipe a lot on this instance, I suggest bringing a second tank with you. It might be a bit slower than a conventional group setup but there will be much more control on the mobs, making it feel much smoother. I slapped on some DPS gear for the final boss, it took a while but we managed to kill it in the end and do the quest for the attunement to the Eye too!
tbh the normal mode you want the pala tank+2 warock mage comp.. but that is true for most dungeons with any possibility of aoe. On Heroic I find myself bringing every variety of ranged dps and I also think enhancement shaman stands out among the melee.. Tho I never bring other types of melee if I can help it. It just saves me a world of hurt and shaves 10-20 mins off a heroic to bring ranged.
As a warlock , I farmed exalted with a Tankless group. 2 mages 2 warlocks 1 resto druid. We killed all but last boss (on normal difficulty), warlocks can tank 1st and 2nd.
I actually love this instance. bring a hunter instead of a second mage or warlock for frost trap. also i'm prot pally and we def tank this dungeon differently. I keep aggro on all the mobs and just run circles around the mobs letting 3/4 hit my holy shield at a time.

Same here. Crypts was an absolute pain in the butt back in the day when I played. This was one of the funnest dungeons for me. I used to tank as a feral druid and I loved how physically based most of the damage was and depending on who was online at the time, it was hilariously easy to do if a second tank needed to get a heroic in.
I wanna do this with 2 mages a prot pally and a druid healer, but I wanna cc the mobs and do it slowly saving the frost novas for if things start to go badly. I'm terrified of this place on heroic though.
This is incorrect you go on about how no other dungeon mobs re spawn on a wipe and each pack is like an event, Black morass if you wipe you have to start on wave 1 and do all waves again and ohh yer no loot
I had to run this place thirty six times for my wastewalker gloves. 36 runs. That's not even the worst part - 36 runs out of 100 groups. I had to start bribing them with a sewer skip to not boot me immediately in place of a mage or warlock.
Really disagree on this, both from a tanking and dps perspective. Group comp barely matters as long as you have some form of aoe slow, eg. Frost trap/eb/howl. Mobs only need to be kited until the legionnaire is dead (and centurions if you choose to do side packs). Nuke dogs before handler, they hit harder than anything else in the dungeon. Last boss is pretty rng, but any offheals/healthstones should be enough to deal with it. Note on side packs; quite often these get pulled when a mob cc ends and you have pulled the rest of the pack into the previous room and are LoSing it so it runs to the side before coming to you. If you're sheeping/trapping just let it get into a hallway before cc and you shouldn't have this issue. BF second boss pulls have been more problematic than anything in SH for me, and even those aren't too bad once geared.
I did this run and the dps were 2 locks and a hutner.. it was realllly hard because the locks couldnt seem to CC anything. Had a huge amount of fun as the hunter using every item in the toolkit though. Was nice to have to really turn it on to clear.
I did this in heroic with a hunter, druid and ele shaman and holy pally and I'm a warrior with enough time to get to the executioner. Just need to be good
If completing a HC run in 25 minutes is your goal, then yea you "get punished hard" if you bring another comp than mage and locks... But otherwise any group comp where you mark and focus one at a time will do fine. If you're finding it hard to sit through the extra hour of content - try focusing on how many plants are growing in your retail garison while your in SHH, waiting for you to go back and harvest them.
Surprising to see this video. This is one of the easiest dungeons. And it shows. People run it all the time. I would say punishing wise CoT are the worse on heroic. But then again at this point everyone is so geared any run is a walk in the park.
I actually disagree. i love this place, ofc the boss being bugged did suck massively but if he doesnt charge friendly targets or out jump of the arena you have the correct stratergy in spreading, originally he'd never charge the same target more than twice i believe. Optimal comps arent required i did this perfectly well with 1 lock 1 shadow priest 1fury warrior 1 prot warrior and a pala healer with maybe 1 wipe on heroic, you need to think out of the box utilise all your skills including fear and in this case MC but its totally possible outside of aoe meta. Helps to be a guild group and be on voice but tbh i love that there's a real bastard of a dungeon to feel like in time you can master with the boys, maybe for some casual ppl this is their 5man endgame experience. Maybe it's not for everyone but im glad to see it exists for some and it absolutely has an audience.
Only one the I really hate is heroic black morass. Not that it’s all that hard but if you wipe you have to start over from the very beggining but no loot on bosses you have to re-kill.
Definitely was expecting HC BF tbh. Tank can't even tank the mobs, just have to take one pack at a time and kite. Engineer mines, rogues, 2nd boss is just hard.
I dont agree. Just bc. a grp isnt the most optimal dosent mean its not doable with a less optimal grp. I have done it meny times with a less optimal grp. In my opinion this is a somewhat fun instance mainly bc. it is a bit more challenging than the other tbc dungons. You seem a bit to harsh and one sided in your judgement, have you had some bad grps?
Geared paladin tank... I got this heroic on farm... I dont care for class comp... bring atleast 1 mage for the slow... its easy....even a hunter with frost trap brings survivability....other than that it's easy to do...
As a pally tank, I like this dungeon and only a slow is really needed/wanted. In heroic the only truly scary mobs are the heathens at the beginning and the dogs. Those dogs hit harder than the bosses 🤣
I would say it's challenging but not that difficult. It's def easier with a frost mage and a warlock. A rogue or hunter to handle the small amount of caster mobs.
Ehhhhh you don't really need 2 warlocks and a mage, that's like the ideal team comp for every dungeon in the game atm but it's not really necessary at all, what you need is a decent healer and a team that knows how to kite, rogues/warriors are rather meh here for sure basically being useful only for interrupts but everyone else has a place especially shamans and hunters. Some really interesting info on the bugs though, I've experienced both in the past and that does clear up some things.
The packs might be big not every mob is super dangerous. A lot of them don't hit very hard. Focus the ones that do and you're good. Is an AoE comp much easier and faster? Of course. Doesn't mean everything else doesn't work.
SHH easy and no issues, whats the hate? No annoying mobs, no bad trash pulls, simple bosses. BF HC however sucks, you get stunned, they dispel RF, they silence, literally impossible to deal with. Silenced into stuns doesn't really work. SHH is prolly one of the easiest.
Its not that bad. You just need cc. hunter , rogue, shaman with earthbind works totaly fine. Ofcourse having mage+ warlocks makes it a walk in the park. Blood furnace 2nd boss packs are WAY worse.
L2P for Real, We did this dungeon wir Warri Tank, Boomkin, Enhancer, Hunter and Holy Pala 0 Deaths 40 minutes on Heroic. I have no Idea what you are talking about.Or as others put it: git gud!
You speak this dungeon down like its a shithole; I had like 13 hc runs in it. Sure its bugged but still a nice dungeon and not that easy like others. Never played it with double warlock & mage.
As a rogue as long as I have one other CC I don't think it's that bad. Blood Furnace is the only hard heroic to me and it's just cause of that second boss trash which is dumb.
Complaining about the size of packs while showing a clip of yourself pulling the whole room kek You DEFINITELY don't need two locks and a mage, even for heroic. One hunter with a slowing trap on each corner does the job, and your other dps can be whatever the hell you want them to be. Sure it might be slower, but it's still clean and easily doable. Personally, I think shattered halls is the coolest and most well designed dungeon in outland. You're legit breaking into this place and the mobs are running out and lining up in a formation as you go along and trying to stop you from going further. The attention to detail is amazing too, the dungeon looks awesome and really sets the vibe. Every time I run this dungeon I'm amazed at how well it's designed, it's definitely my favourite. And it is NOT NEARLY as hard as blood furnace heroic without a shadow priest mind controlling the fel orcs.
i got news for you. there are a ton of people beating the high end HC inis without any problems and with different team combinations... maybe you are just not good enough? :(
Nonsense. We did this with hunter. Boomie, mage. If the boomie is one of those starfire spammers, kick him. You should be wrath spamming, try and get threat of the hunters . And spam cyclone on mobs that are hitting your tanks
Do this place easy on heroic all the time… nice 5 badges since we always get the timer, had many comps… I like it best with a mage but have done without
Sorry i don't get the point of complaining about one of the more challenging but enjoyable instances in TBC. Yes it has some new instance mechanics like the gauntlet or respawning chained packs and no you can't mindlessly farm it like SP without a super "meta" comp but that was the intention, and that meta comp trivialises almost all hc's anyway. 15 yr old game still causes rage, good.
So alot of errors in information too. The trial run is for TK attunement, the rogues dont sap they gouge. Kargath never charged the same person multiple times. It was 1 person then someone else but he could go back to the 1st charged target after the 2nd. The trash doesnt reset to a full 6 pack if you die with 1 alive. Did you just make this video for views lol?
Sorry but this is wrong. I run this all the time on my hunter. There are several classes which are really good here, and composition isnt that strict unless you are pulling 3+ packs. The part where you showed the pull, is the worst pull you could make there. You dont even have to clear the side packs. My guild can run this in like 25 mins without a mage or warlock in sight.
This video just shows how bad of learning dungeons you are. The groups don't respawn, the legionaires call for support. Kill them first and you won't have that issue. By far, this dungeon just shows how bad people are more than the difficulty of the dungeon.
Did this dungeon multiple times on heroic now and wouldn't say its thaaat hard. Doable with even not the most efficient composition, BUT you will need really good players who know how to use cc and massive amount of time! Also didn't like this dungeon from the start at non heroic already and would agree it sucks

If he charges friend and foe shouldnt the tank just tank the mobs that spawn to increase the amount of times his area is charged?

With 1 spell cleave group I went from honored to almost exalted in an afternoon in SH

Did Shattered Halls H with Bear Tank, Boomy, Rogue, Spriest and Shaman Heals. We finished it but with some deaths.

0:46 The BF mobs CAN BE CCED, about half of them are just immune to slows thats it, poly, fear, mc, frostnova, all work.
MC makes that trash a joke. The big red orcs do about 2.5k dps while they’re mind controlled.

So I read the title and thought we was getting a video about how awful Auchin Crypts r as its the worst dungeon ever in wow, I really enjoy SH myself but I'm a healer so lifes easier for me lol
Same here. Crypts was an absolute pain in the butt back in the day when I played. This was one of the funnest dungeons for me.
I used to tank as a feral druid and I loved how physically based most of the damage was and depending on who was online at the time, it was hilariously easy to do if a second tank needed to get a heroic in.
I thought the video would be about Crypts as well. SH can be a pain in the neck but nowhere near most of BC instances.
I ran this last night on heroic, and we finished with 41 minutes remaining of the bonus timer
Havn't done heroic for it yet, but ive run normal back to back with many different group comps and its been pretty easy
I wanna do this with 2 mages a prot pally and a druid healer, but I wanna cc the mobs and do it slowly saving the frost novas for if things start to go badly. I'm terrified of this place on heroic though.

I had to run this place thirty six times for my wastewalker gloves. 36 runs. That's not even the worst part - 36 runs out of 100 groups. I had to start bribing them with a sewer skip to not boot me immediately in place of a mage or warlock.
Really disagree on this, both from a tanking and dps perspective. Group comp barely matters as long as you have some form of aoe slow, eg. Frost trap/eb/howl. Mobs only need to be kited until the legionnaire is dead (and centurions if you choose to do side packs).
Nuke dogs before handler, they hit harder than anything else in the dungeon.
Last boss is pretty rng, but any offheals/healthstones should be enough to deal with it.
Note on side packs; quite often these get pulled when a mob cc ends and you have pulled the rest of the pack into the previous room and are LoSing it so it runs to the side before coming to you. If you're sheeping/trapping just let it get into a hallway before cc and you shouldn't have this issue.
BF second boss pulls have been more problematic than anything in SH for me, and even those aren't too bad once geared.
It is not required to do it since it wasn't done back then. It's the fastest but not required at all
Ele shaman, mage, a warlock is great too
I did this run and the dps were 2 locks and a hutner.. it was realllly hard because the locks couldnt seem to CC anything. Had a huge amount of fun as the hunter using every item in the toolkit though. Was nice to have to really turn it on to clear.
y most locks forgot they have a succubus available to perma cc any humanoid
I did this in heroic with a hunter, druid and ele shaman and holy pally and I'm a warrior with enough time to get to the executioner. Just need to be good
Ran this place on heroic and normal combined 73 times on my hunter and yet to see beast lord gloves ugh
Oh man I feel really bad seeing this. My alt is a hunter and I did it once and got them. Rest of my gear is dogshit/tier 2 but I got them gloves :)
Also, blood furnace hc is not that bad at all. The adds on the 2nd boss can be crowd controlled and also slowed. Piece of cake

If completing a HC run in 25 minutes is your goal, then yea you "get punished hard" if you bring another comp than mage and locks... But otherwise any group comp where you mark and focus one at a time will do fine.
If you're finding it hard to sit through the extra hour of content - try focusing on how many plants are growing in your retail garison while your in SHH, waiting for you to go back and harvest them.

Surprising to see this video. This is one of the easiest dungeons. And it shows. People run it all the time. I would say punishing wise CoT are the worse on heroic. But then again at this point everyone is so geared any run is a walk in the park.

I actually disagree. i love this place, ofc the boss being bugged did suck massively but if he doesnt charge friendly targets or out jump of the arena you have the correct stratergy in spreading, originally he'd never charge the same target more than twice i believe.
Optimal comps arent required i did this perfectly well with 1 lock 1 shadow priest 1fury warrior 1 prot warrior and a pala healer with maybe 1 wipe on heroic, you need to think out of the box utilise all your skills including fear and in this case MC but its totally possible outside of aoe meta. Helps to be a guild group and be on voice but tbh i love that there's a real bastard of a dungeon to feel like in time you can master with the boys, maybe for some casual ppl this is their 5man endgame experience. Maybe it's not for everyone but im glad to see it exists for some and it absolutely has an audience.

Only one the I really hate is heroic black morass. Not that it’s all that hard but if you wipe you have to start over from the very beggining but no loot on bosses you have to re-kill.
Definitely was expecting HC BF tbh. Tank can't even tank the mobs, just have to take one pack at a time and kite. Engineer mines, rogues, 2nd boss is just hard.

I dont agree. Just bc. a grp isnt the most optimal dosent mean its not doable with a less optimal grp. I have done it meny times with a less optimal grp.
In my opinion this is a somewhat fun instance mainly bc. it is a bit more challenging than the other tbc dungons. You seem a bit to harsh and one sided in your judgement, have you had some bad grps?
Fun group i did today. Protadin, holy priest, enha shaman, 2 shadow priests .... was easy
Geared paladin tank... I got this heroic on farm... I dont care for class comp... bring atleast 1 mage for the slow... its easy....even a hunter with frost trap brings survivability....other than that it's easy to do...
You're punishment is time not success. So I don't see why you need the optimal comp.
As a pally tank, I like this dungeon and only a slow is really needed/wanted. In heroic the only truly scary mobs are the heathens at the beginning and the dogs. Those dogs hit harder than the bosses 🤣

I would say it's challenging but not that difficult. It's def easier with a frost mage and a warlock. A rogue or hunter to handle the small amount of caster mobs.
What are you talking about? Im a prot paladin, and I face tank all those packs on heroic, comp doesn't matter that much...

I cant relate to much in this video, Ive done 15+ hc's and rarely have any problems.
And the attunment went flawlessly.
Its an easy dungeon.
Ehhhhh you don't really need 2 warlocks and a mage, that's like the ideal team comp for every dungeon in the game atm but it's not really necessary at all, what you need is a decent healer and a team that knows how to kite, rogues/warriors are rather meh here for sure basically being useful only for interrupts but everyone else has a place especially shamans and hunters. Some really interesting info on the bugs though, I've experienced both in the past and that does clear up some things.
The packs might be big not every mob is super dangerous. A lot of them don't hit very hard. Focus the ones that do and you're good. Is an AoE comp much easier and faster? Of course. Doesn't mean everything else doesn't work.
SHH easy and no issues, whats the hate? No annoying mobs, no bad trash pulls, simple bosses. BF HC however sucks, you get stunned, they dispel RF, they silence, literally impossible to deal with. Silenced into stuns doesn't really work. SHH is prolly one of the easiest.
Its not that bad. You just need cc. hunter , rogue, shaman with earthbind works totaly fine. Ofcourse having mage+ warlocks makes it a walk in the park.
Blood furnace 2nd boss packs are WAY worse.

You speak this dungeon down like its a shithole; I had like 13 hc runs in it. Sure its bugged but still a nice dungeon and not that easy like others. Never played it with double warlock & mage.

As a rogue as long as I have one other CC I don't think it's that bad. Blood Furnace is the only hard heroic to me and it's just cause of that second boss trash which is dumb.

You DEFINITELY don't need two locks and a mage, even for heroic. One hunter with a slowing trap on each corner does the job, and your other dps can be whatever the hell you want them to be. Sure it might be slower, but it's still clean and easily doable.
Personally, I think shattered halls is the coolest and most well designed dungeon in outland. You're legit breaking into this place and the mobs are running out and lining up in a formation as you go along and trying to stop you from going further. The attention to detail is amazing too, the dungeon looks awesome and really sets the vibe. Every time I run this dungeon I'm amazed at how well it's designed, it's definitely my favourite. And it is NOT NEARLY as hard as blood furnace heroic without a shadow priest mind controlling the fel orcs.
i got news for you. there are a ton of people beating the high end HC inis without any problems and with different team combinations... maybe you are just not good enough? :(
Nonsense. We did this with hunter. Boomie, mage. If the boomie is one of those starfire spammers, kick him. You should be wrath spamming, try and get threat of the hunters . And spam cyclone on mobs that are hitting your tanks
Do this place easy on heroic all the time… nice 5 badges since we always get the timer, had many comps… I like it best with a mage but have done without

The mobs in BF can be CC'd on Heroic - have you even done these dungeons? This is just straight misinformation at this point.
Sorry i don't get the point of complaining about one of the more challenging but enjoyable instances in TBC. Yes it has some new instance mechanics like the gauntlet or respawning chained packs and no you can't mindlessly farm it like SP without a super "meta" comp but that was the intention, and that meta comp trivialises almost all hc's anyway. 15 yr old game still causes rage, good.
So alot of errors in information too. The trial run is for TK attunement, the rogues dont sap they gouge. Kargath never charged the same person multiple times. It was 1 person then someone else but he could go back to the 1st charged target after the 2nd. The trash doesnt reset to a full 6 pack if you die with 1 alive. Did you just make this video for views lol?
Sorry but this is wrong. I run this all the time on my hunter. There are several classes which are really good here, and composition isnt that strict unless you are pulling 3+ packs.
The part where you showed the pull, is the worst pull you could make there. You dont even have to clear the side packs. My guild can run this in like 25 mins without a mage or warlock in sight.
Yeah, no. Perfectly doable with almost every comp even on heroic. The rogue-thing and the endboss are cunty though
This video just shows how bad of learning dungeons you are. The groups don't respawn, the legionaires call for support. Kill them first and you won't have that issue. By far, this dungeon just shows how bad people are more than the difficulty of the dungeon.

I’m a Druid tank main and this place is a breeze.
Did this dungeon multiple times on heroic now and wouldn't say its thaaat hard. Doable with even not the most efficient composition, BUT you will need really good players who know how to use cc and massive amount of time! Also didn't like this dungeon from the start at non heroic already and would agree it sucks

No offense but I love this dungeon as a hunter. And i dont see it being that bad. Not compared to the entirety of Herioc Arcatraz
