Even if granular economic decisions could be made democratically, implementation would still need to be made through a huge, costly, permanent, and inefficient bureaucracy, which is the hallmark of central planning. Central planning is always done from the top down, by the “experts”. Sound familiar? We are just now digging our way out of a 2 1/2-year-long experiment in central planning. How did that work for everybody? Keep in mind that socialism knows no left or right; a socialist government is only centralized planning and power, whether it is communist or fascist, the only difference between one example and another is where they lie on the timeline toward the ever-increasing authoritarianism required to keep them from dissolving, of which there are abundant examples!
