This is from December of 1999 during the Satan All stars concert that brought back most of the formers to perform with the band one lost time before the band disbanded after the next concert. This just has the guartists from the first 3 albums return and the concert ended with all members present for the show on stage together performing.

Very big band in Japan, cited by many Japanese musicians as an influence. Saki of Nemophila regularly goes to their concerts and played some Seikima cover gigs in her earlier days. Her old band Mary's Blood would play Seikima's songs at their shows I recall. Kei Kobayashi, impresario of Babymetal, is a big fan and has incorporated some of their show elements into BM's productions.

I have watched a couple of reactions to their live stuff now and it's always fun. I have bought a couple of their live Blu-rays actually after watching a couple of them just because of the spectacle they bring, but I haven't gotten around to watch them yet. I skipped through them though and one of them looked really old/upscaled. The band basically stopped in 2000 or so and reform every 5 years do live shows ever since then if I remember correctly. They did a tour last year, it was postponed because of covid (it should have been 2020). They did release an album in 2022 though.
The vocalist Demon Kakka still does solo stuff and is actually going to do a 2-man show (so 2 bands on one day) with Nemophila later this year. I am sure Saki is thrilled with that because Seikima II is her favourite band and watching one of their concerts on TV is apparently the main reason why she started to be interested in rock and metal music.

They seem pretty iconic. That's great for Saki 🤘👍

I thought i knew this band thanks to Kei Kobayashi, aka KobaMetal, manager and producer of BabyMetal, but then I realized I met them years before in 2016 when hearing two songs of them as the opening for a brutal anime series I used to like, Terraformars, with the opening "Kōryōtaru Shin Sekai" (荒涼たる新世界, "Desolate New World") and "Planet/The Hell", of course i recommend those, but years prior to this i watched an anime that was heavily based on Seikima-ii called "Detroit Metal City" which is a parody with so much fun episodes and i didn't knew it was inspired on them.
In 2021 KobaMetal share a list of 50 bands and artists that influence him and to help understand BabyMetal.
This band was at Number 1 place.
The similarities with BM are notorious, starting with the name is a play of words; they have rol names and personas as well a lore with prophecies; "Legend 1999" was their final concert and BM got a Legend 1999 title on one of their special live celebrating YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th Birthday; also that final series of concert were during three days creating a trilogy, BM got the Trilogy Of 2015 and some other trilogy; plus the final concert title was "Doomsday", BM had that title in some of their lives concert like the last one at Budokan 2021 or 2014; "Black Mass" is the title they used for live concerts, BM use "Legend" to called those major live concerts following the lore, however they got a series of live concerts exclusive for fans members called "Apocrypha" with the subtitle "Black Mass" (only for metalheads male/kitsune audience) and Red Mass (only female/megitsune audience); "Living Legend" was the title of their final album in 1999, BM carry on that title to give our girls the status of living legends as well is featured as part of the title in the latest ballad version of "The One - Stairway To Living Legend" when sealing their final chapter and going to hiatus; they're very theatrical on live performance but BM got two types of lives shows "strong performance" (only the girls and the band without any helps of lights, pyro and top notch production) and "theatrical performance" (with all the goodies and budget)
You clearly saw the similarities with western iconic bands but they also got their own trademark using makeup and outfits similar to Kabuki theater style.
Also is impressive how they always stay on character and no one knows how they look in real life.
I took this from an interview at "Hedoban Magazine":
Q: When did Kobametal-San began to listen to Metal?
Koba: Maybe from 6th in grade school. Seikima-II was my initiation. From the first time I saw Demon Kakka in the media (laugh). My love for Seikima-II has continued since then.
    ...
Koba: I'm from Metal... the same as Seikima-II, I wanted to build that distinct feel, just like Mass*, at our live performance.
    -------------------
    * a concert by the band is referred to as a Black Mass.
They were pretty famous and they're among metal gods in Japanese culture just like X-Japan, which means they're really big.
Fun fact: Demon Kakka is a special guests in upcoming Street Fighter 6 videogame as a voice narrator.
They got a reunion every 5 years, last time they couldn't because of pandemic restrictions, so fans are waiting for next reunion.
    Thanks for sharing this.🤘🔥
