I first heard this on David Gans' "Grateful Dead Hour" on KPFA in '85, I think. I was approaching the Bay Bridge toll plaza, and when they went into "Touch" I nearly drove into the water. Awesome show, with a "Dark Star" encore.
I took my future wife to her first show/3 day run of shows at the Geek this weekend. 18 years later, I run into my now ex-wife at the Geek for Phil and Phriends. I guess I shouldn't have shown her so much, so fast. The Geek in Bezerkeley will always be a special place for me. Take a big deep breath of that eucalyptus and redwood. Only two venues smell like that, Geek and Frost. My home outdoor venues.
The best descriptions always include the smells, the greek definitely had the eucalyptus. Redwoods, sequoias in general need heat and moisture for the full nose bloom.
Man, this sounds so crisp ! I love the sound of the bass and the piano... guitars and vocal for Jerry sound a little thin but this is that awesome 84 and 85 sound that is truly a special part of the 80s, the band just flexes and Pops here, such electric stuff
My First show! The balls on the guy sneaking a relatively giant camera into the greek. Thx for doing it!
Best 30 minutes of concert I've listened to in a long time!
This set was fire

Love how unhinged this is! 84 is great!
One of my first tapes
This was the night of the Dark Star encore - a splendid time was had by all!
I used to have this on cassette....
I sent my Sony Walkman D6c to this run of shows with some friends. They got it plugged into a taper's setup, so my cassette was a 1st gen copy.
