- ASSAM/ARUNACHAL PRADESH: The eastern sector of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China may have been less active compared to the northern sector so far as border skirmishes go but India is taking no chances. Infrastructure, both civil and military, has got a major boost. The Army and the Air Force are working in tandem to plug the gaps in surveillance and technology is being used in a big way to augment India’s combat-preparedness, as StratNews Global Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale explains in this episode of ‘Simply Nitin’.

Just check any project. You will see all of them has been planned 20 years back. But they never started or get completed by Congress.

I am from dibrugarh where bogibeel bridge is located .. when foundation was laid I was in school and when I became a father the bridge got completed..Congress diverted the money meant for the bridge to their pockets

Sir, just one suggestion- In the following videos please if possible, provide location of where are these sites placed on a map. Slightly hard for people like me & those from the Rest of India who have not visited the North East yet. Even though I have researched well on the net about infrastructure projects & places but since I have not visited these places & not thoroughly aware of their location, slightly hard to figure out.
Strategically important ones which are not to be shown can be hidden but the bridges or Railway lines or Roads or which Airbase are you talking about can be shown since their location are available on the net so they are publicly accessible.
Rest sir, you have done a great job & I am eagerly waiting for your series to start.

Thank you Nitin sir, you go where the angels fear to tread! We need more of your tribe, who focus on important issues than just page 3 characters or peddle concocted narratives. The simple take-home message is that roads and infrastructure don't just ensure uninterrupted supply lines but a far higher strategic purpose is achieved by connectivity - that of civil society to mingle with the rest of India. That is a far more effective way to prevent alienation of the beautiful and kind people of the North East. The Congressis just did not care for them in all their years in power, but that cannot happen anymore. Today thanks to these flagship projects and heavy military deployment on the border areas by the current government, the people of North East are getting much more amalgamated into the fabric of India with a sense of security and feeling of nationalism. That in itself is a credible deterrent for any adversary. Our people are our strength sir - Jai Hind and Here is a big shout to our brothers and sisters in the North East 🙏🙏

Kudos for bringing this program. Thanks to the govt for walking the talk in the NE and putting these changes in place. Between 2002 and 2014 what happened? We all know what the former Congress govt did and did not do; ant-India anti-national people. Can't believe people haven't thrown those in jail.

Nitin ji - in the first place the infrastructure and north east remained without development by the congress government because they were prevailed upon by China not to develop. This is perhaps due to the understanding between China and Sonia-Rahul nexus or they may have even got paid. The next issue is you have given such a lucid description of our activities in the eastern border, it becomes easy for them to chose and plan a massive bombing raid simultaneously so that the advantage of our infrastructure can be neutralised in one go. We are back to square A. When that happens you will put a sorry face. I can compare with what happened during Mumbai attack how our media helped the Pakistan handlers. You also say you will disclose all our military preparations in the coming episodes. Are you also paid by China in Swiss banks? Why do you do so. Do the Chinese reveal,this kind of information, I want an answer as a fellow Indian. Do our military intelligence approve your brilliant utterances benefiting China. The problem is you do not read comments.
Sir there is an urgent need to boost more our infrastructure in north-east. More railway projects should be passed. As china has build a high speed railway system near our border. And in sikkim we should build more road connectivity near to the indo-china border. Our real enemy is one and only is China. Nitin, this is exceptional reporting. I will make a contribution to the channel.
I am no expert or armchair analyst, but what I do understand is that China keeps stringing us along with it's own pet narratives like "this dispute is a left over an from history and India inherited the British legacy", "it's all your fault" and now "this is an inalienable part of China and we will resolutely protect our sovereignty, not yield one inch", etc, etc.
It is time we spoke up and got more assertive. We need to shape and impose our own narrative to call out China and nail it's lies.
So, I hope, the narrative gradually shifts towards "india-Tibet" border and away from calling it the "China border" or "India-China" border. Indeed, I strongly believe that ground has shifted after Galwan so much so that any hopes by India that the "current resolution mechanisms" we still have in place will resolve issues are misplaced. The Chinese by doing what they did in Galwan, tore up all the agreements in place since the 90s and keep harping on their "sovereignty" over everything. Why then are into the 14th round of negotiations and except for some buffer zones (that are largely inside territory India has traditionally patrolled for decades and is now inaccessible to us), has anything been achieved. We even gave up the Kailash Heights presumably to gain leverage in Pangong Tso, but the Chinese have no intentions of leaving the area.
This means, in my reading of events", and the current geopolitical scenario where China is increasingly seen by the international community as a threat, India should reshape the narrative. The new narrative should be about focusing on Tibet as the core issue. It is China's presence in Tibet that is at the core of all the problems we see today. We need to start questioning China's claims to ownership of Tibet. In fact, if the Chinese tune "left over from history" changed to "sovereignty" or "left over + sovereignty", then why the negotiations. It appears plain that China has been taking all this time and not giving anything.
If Aksai China is indeed India's and Arunachal not negotiable, then China has walked away with some 40000 sq kms and cartographically annexed 90000 sq kms of Arunachal. China also took parts of Bhutan and is making a play on the Siliguri Corridor. We call the threat to this as "Chinese may cut off the Indian mainland from the Northeast". Why don't we just go ahead and state clearly that China is not just intent on annexing Arunachal, but the entire northeast as well ? We need to end strategic ambiguity. We need to end our appeasement policies towards China. I believe India is trying to head in that direction. When it comes to national security and territorial integrity, India must take a leaf from Israel and pull out it's Tibet card.
Indeed it is China's illegal occupation of Tibet that is the gravest threat to India's existence as a sovereign nation. China understands it's own language and no one else's.
This is what journalism should be like. No nonsense simply NITIN. Thank you for bringing in actual information regarding what changes are happening alongside of the LAC. Now, since we are developing military as well as civil infrastructure in Arunachal, I hope government should focus on Tourism at these places which would more strengthen the local population and can minimise the local migration from those remote areas.
