I have the same engine in mine and haven’t had much luck finding something that fits
Just bought my 2012 a4 Quattro and have the same rattle. Literally bought it last night, fixed the pcv issue today, oil change and air filter. I noticed that rattle on decel then noticed it did it when just reving the car also. I assumed it was a wastegate issue but didnt know what. Thanks for the video, i know its not a big deal and how to fix it. Im new to audi so this is new to me but i am experienced at working on vehicles.

definitely the timing chain needs replacing.
I have just fitted this kit myself and i have no difference to the sound at all. What is it that actually changed the sound from the 1st install to this one?
sounds like the tensioner chain is failing also
yup.. just did mine... could also be the high pressure fuel pump too.
so this didnt stop the turbo leak? just the noise?

Hi mate I've got a squeeking sound coming from the front possibly suspension or a belt from the engine, Audi want £350 just to set up a listening device. Been to about 5 garages none of them are 100% sure, any chance I can forward you a 20 sec video somewhere?

I don't think tue turbo on the bwa has this Problem only heard about Problems with the later engine

Did the noise ever come back? I’ve got the exact same issue with my car.. literally got it a month ago 😅 my mechanic is telling me this clip won’t fix the noise
The noise not come back and this will only work if its wastegate issue

I think you have installed the clip upside down, the small part of the cilp should be sitting on top of the rod...the larger bit is designed to be seated.....it might not make a difference but defo looks back to front to me?
I suspect it might ping off over time as it gets more movement
Hi Adam, it's defo on the right way, a group of us checked against the technical information bulletin several times.
I agree it looks the wrong way round, but it could be angle of image.
I just double checked the pdf for fitting and he has got it on the right way 👍the small bit is on top of the rod just zoomed in on the pic
Sorry lads but it ain't, Google tsfi wastegate actuator clip...loads of images... and yours is upside down...why are the two teeth on the bottom of your picture facing away from the rod... they are there to make sure it doesn't spin when the rod moves?
I do hate to be the one to break the news, as i have a clip myself that I can't fit due to being a quattro, so well done for getting it on....and i do feel for Rob... and his ram air nightmare.... but sorry son it's wrong.
Can you post the pdf you refer to as a link on this video as i suspect thats a view from under the car, not from the top?

Well that doesn't fix it but it cleara the noise. If doesn't put out a code for the wastegate then I guess it is fine but the proper fix is replacing the wastegate and actuator arm with the revised ones.
The cel would be coming soon if not already
you should have attached the clip to a piece of string first😀
