Yeah. That analogy with Luke in ESB was a poor one. It was not a plot twist. I really think she wanted it the stranger to be a major reveal, didn’t realise she wasn’t skilled enough writer, so is saying that it was supposed to be obvious, after the fact. It’s all built up to be a big surprise reveal. I think she also wanted to just switch Mae and OSHA, which is a good idea, but again, just not skilled enough to make it believable…
I still hit my electronics when they don't work. I don't think that instinct/ habit will ever change. Let's not forget about Han Solo fist bump starting The Millennium Falcon. ✊
What?! But how could you not be interested in the tragic deaths of...uh....the one with yellow face paint? And, uh, the other one? These people we don't know dying while looking for the killer of other characters we know even less about was so emotionally impactful.
They dont need dust, we saw the witches possess a Jedi already. The Jedi will assume no one person could kill so man Jedi, the witch magic of possession must have made them kill themselves. Mae, the last witch, is to blame.
The more she is allowed to talk the more she shows she really doesn’t get Star Wars. Why she was ever allowed to be showrunner of a series for this franchise is mind blowing.
I disagree. The whole "X gets/doesn't get Star Wars" thing is been so inconsistent but from what l've seen it all depends on how many overt clone wars references you can stick in a show.
We have to assume that the whole "kill a jedi without a weapon" thing is a lark rather than a requirement for Sith acolytes. Otherwise, you would be looking at a series of Jedi (presumably there is more than 1 acoltye at any given time) being killed off every few years without anyone noticing for centuries. It would also mean that, not only did every acolye succeed in killing their target, they killed their target without leaving any evidence behind to be analyzed and that nobody in a thousand years found anything to suggest the Sith were involved in any deaths for that whole time. No distinctive weapons, no blood, no bodies, nothing.
The only place I can think of in Legends where they might be drawing that from is when Maul, who was basically an "Acolyte" at the time (because Pleguies was still alive) , once killed a Padawan in a fight. Maul hid his force powers and lightsaber and killed him bare handed. Now, that was NOT a requirement, Maul was just blood-thirsty, and Palps gave him a dose of lightning for it... It's the only thing I can think of that's close.
I think that some of these writers and show runners and actors need to understand the classical definition of freedom. That freedom is not “being able to do whatever I want” but rather freedom is “being able to choose the good that I aught.”
_Book of Boba_ should’ve been a single-season mini series, with each episode being 50% flashbacks to various points in his life, even as a kid hanging out with Jango, that duel he had with Cad Bane in the un-produced _Clone Wars_ cinematic, etc… …and maybe the “present” timeline should’ve started when he was with the Tuskens, and spanned several years, and somehow worked his appearances in _Mando_ into the middle of that timeline 🤷🏻♂️
Instead of "how many seasons" how about have a story you want to tell ffs. If its a season, it's a season, if it's 2 or 3 so be it. Have a damn story in the first place then worry about how long it will take to tell it. Peripheral is a great example. Absolutely amazing show, ended season 1 on a huge cliff hanger, didn't get picked up for season 2. Sucks to be fans of it but I can still go back and get enjoyment from that first season because it had a good story to tell
I love how they remove the EU and then poorly take from it. Why get rid of it then? Should have just used it and I no the EU cortisol wasn’t fragile. In the Bane novel it states that it is very hard to mine.
It's Schrodinger's lore at this point: it can be either canon or not canon, depending on the needs of the hack writers. The best part is the way the shills flip flop on it. Make up some new dumb thing that retcons the EU? "Who cares? It's just legends. It's not even canon!" Cherrypick some bit of fluff from the EU to clumsily justify a poorly thought-out plot point? "But it's from the EU! You must not be a rEaL fan if you dont know that!" So they get to have their cake and eat it too.
I suspect whatever happened with the creation of Mae and Osha (Cloning and or Alchemy) are basically things that the Sith and/or Qimir don’t want the Jedi to know as either or both would use it to dismantle the Jedi later (Clones and midiclorian Alchemy.). However, Indara, Sol etc. may not have known that the Witch coven cut some kind of deal with the Sith to get resources for the cloners (Witch mind controlling Alchemy) Qimir got it, but Tenebrous/Plaguies/Sidious didn’t.
When this woman speaks, she just makes things worse. How could she be comparing Qimir and the deaths of Jecki and Yord to the climax/surprise of TESB? What's funny, now: We may very well finish this miniseries, without knowing truly HOW Mae and Osha were "created", AND WHO The Stranger/Qimir is. Talk about a bait-and-switch!. I agree, Thor: NO WAY should The Acolyte get a Second Season. In this statement, Ms. Headland is absolutely right...end this crap NOW AND FOR GOOD.

Hey Thor... The dust theory is a good one. Mine is that, since the Witches took over Kalnaca and Torbin, that Venestra will blame the Jedi massacre on the Witches powers... claiming that Mae and/or Osha took over their minds and made them kill each other. (It remains to be seen what Sol's role will be) What do you think about that as an approach?
Her point is, the audience knew that the Jedi have to lose in the fight against Qimir, but they didn`t know that it would go so wrong that "main characters" (honestly, they seemed to be written for that moment and nothing else) would die. The comparison with Episode 5 is not, because she thinks they are just as good as the movie (maybe she does, I don`t know and care), but because it was similar. The audience go to know that Luke will lose and he did, but it got worse, because Luke also found out that his father (his hero) was the villain. It`s a comparison of situation - not talent.
Worst possible scenario, Smiley has an easy / confusing backstory at the same time. He/She is a trans-man from Brendock. He-she saved Mae in the fire and raised her as an apprentice.
Great observation with the burns on his arms. I didn't even notice. I guess she did notice though, oggling up "darth biceps" lol! . I was talking to one of my checked-out friends this week about the current state of Star wars and he asked why I'm still watching. Ultimately I do want to see what they do with it and, it is fun to discuss it with the (few) remaining fans. Looking forward to seeing how it ends now to be honest.
What I think she’s trying to say, it’s that he wants freedom to practice his version of the force and have an apprentice, and because he knows Jedis are enforcing or not allowing other people to use the force then he started killing jedi. Not saying that’s a good thing to do, but that’s the point she was trying to make in her story.
Agree. And he has nothing to lose so why wouldn’t he pursue his desire of practicing his way and having an apprentice, which requires killing some Jedi bc let’s face it a sit in is not going to work here, and if he dies then it was for his cause? He’s got zero fucks left.
The freedom to wield your power without restriction doesn’t seem like an end goal, but merely a means to an end. Once Qimir has that freedom, what does he want to do with it? Even if his goal is to eradicate the Jedi, that’s another means to an end. What does he want to do after all the Jedi are gone? Rule the galaxy? That’s what Anakin did, but I don’t think we’re getting a repeat of that. I just don’t know…
I don’t think Qimir‘s whole “Y’all need to let me do me” stance is that far off. The Jedi say that only the Sith deal in absolutes, but actually, the Jedi deal in absolutes. The Jedi only permit the Jedi way/use of the force, only the good side of the force, only what we want, only our government, only we are the peacekeepers, only what we want is happening. That’s not balance. They’re absolutely closed off to anything new or to other ways of doing things, and if anybody should know, it’s them - that there is no right and wrong in the universe.
Vader was not the strongest Sith. He was like a fraction of Anakins potential. It’s like a Tesla truck. Cool if you own one but it’s probably best to Luke for a replacement. Kimir might slap Vader. Especially since vader is so psychologically traumatized. But I m sure he would win as the Slywalkers have the best plot armor
If you have to explain your decisions in your writing, you're not writing very well. It's one thing to add context to complex situations and motivations of your characters, (like with an "After the Episode Inside Look) but when the ONLY place your audience can learn of said motivations, IS THROUGH AN INTERVIEW.... well... then you lost me. 🙏
I don’t think Qimir wants to freedom to kill Jedi (per se). I think he might be saying, “I want freedom to grow in the power of the dark side.” He just wants to kill Jedi now because they are standing in his way, just like Palpatine will see the Jedi as an obstacle for his quest for power. That’s if they actually try to make what he said makes sense with the Sith mindset and not rewrite the Sith as misunderstood rather than evil. But besides that point, this is why it’s frustrating when the dialogue is so vague. You don’t know what characters want. George Lucas wrote clunky dialogue, but it was clear what he wanted you to know. The dialogue may sound better in the Acolyte but it makes no sense.
This was a really great interview. I'm not sure how you could read that, and think that she doesn't 'get' Star Wars. Sure the show has a lot of clunky dialogue, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the Prequels. I can't wait to see what the other Legends stuff is
Wow. Is she trying to "rationalize" bad behavior? Like her former boss Weinstein?? Sorry, maybe be a wild take, but Thor and Naboo talking about a serial killer made me think "do what I want to people because I have power: maybe to kill, or maybe just subjugate" and that made me jump to her (former) boss Weinstein. Oh, or less sinister, just KK. Wild. Anyway, my fanciful speculation aside, maybe that was what she wanted viewers to take from this story, but it was handled *really badly* because I don't think anyone has that take-away.
Spoiler for latest episode: It was suggested in the latest episode that sol killed all the Jedi and they don’t know what darth smiley is which is dumb surely, they suspect that he is a fallen Jedi which says to me they are going to lean into the “grey Jedi” thing. It’s pretty dumb. Side note: the lightsaber fight was really bad it’s flashy but is terrible. There is one point in particular where the Jedi just line up to be killed.
Star Wars Without Disney: -2 More Seasons of the Clone Wars, 30+ Episodes which contains the story of probably the coolest Star Wars Canon Book, and one of the best canon comics. -Potential Animated Prequel Era Movie -Star Wars Underworld live action TV series directed by George Lucas, highlighting the crime and underworld during the empire. -3 Sequels showing Luke rebuilding the Jedi Order, Leia and Han working to hold the New Republic together against Al-Qaeda inspired ruthless guerrilla tactic storm troopers, and a criminal underworld led by Godfather of Galatic Crime Darth Maul and his girl apprentice inspired by Darth Talon. Ends with the balance of the force after Luke restores the Jedi Order, and Leia becomes supreme chancellor of a United and prosperous New Republic. -No Disney Sequels -Potential further support of Lucas Arts Video Games (Force Unleashed, and other developers besides EA and Ubisoft)
Highly doubt most of that would have been made. Lucas was done with Star Wars. The clone wars would have continued for another season or two, more EU books would have been written, and Lucas Arts may have put out a few more games but not likely. And yes I'm sure the lovely fan base would have been chomping at the bit to tear everything new apart. People disregarded the prequel trilogy just because one goofy minor character and the mention of midichlorians. I can only imagine how well a whole trilogy about them would have gone.
@@charles52able1 I can link an interview from a couples months ago alongside a media/event George Lucas and his wife attended. George Lucas describes everything about the sequels he was going to do, including making Leia the chosen one and that would become apparent at the end of his “Episode 9” and I think he did want to do Star Wars Underworld but you are right, that is not a guarantee it was in early development when it was canceled.
Why would Disney even give a season 2 to this show? Darth Biceps is a precursor to the Knights of Ren according to ScreenCrush, so it seems like Disney is looking for any excuse to make this show seem meaningful.
The witches will be blamed. The twins will survive for season 2. Darth plagues will end the season by killing both Sol and Quimir for trying to recruit someone to kill him.The witches and Yoda girl are in on the plot of the Sith. This was a uninhabitable planet before. Who ran the witches there. How were the surviving without men? Someone (sol) knows more than meets the eye
"We'll get more into that in SEASON TWO" ?! Dear God, there's going to be a season 2 and Qimir apparently is going to survive to be in it (unless it is in flashbacks). Is there no end to this madness?
I reckon there's a strong possibility of that happening. And technically, what Ki Adi Mundi says about the Sith haven't been seen for a millenia, isn't retconned.
@@BigMan.270It is retconned because a Sith just slaughtered 10+ Jedi. Even if Sol dies first, even if Green Plank of Wood Lady orchestrates her little coup within the Jedi order, there's practically nothing else in the galaxy that is going to take out 10 Jedi at once and leave no witnesses. The Jedi Council's powers of deduction are nowhere near as terrible as you need them to be in order for them to come away from this not at a minimum strongly suspecting the Sith. It's almost worst if they don't suspect the Sith, tbh. That would mean the Jedi have a hidden enemy, capable of killing entire teams of Jedi, and they just never bother to find out who or what tf it is. 🤤 When CLEARLY that would then be Item #1A on any and all Jedi agendas going forward in time. An entire team of Jedi investigators should be on that Moth Planet within a week combing through every scrap of evidence to determine wth happened. This is why Sidious, Plagueis and practically all Rule of Two era Sith took such great pains to remain unobserved and unsuspected because ONE wrong move would put thousands of Jedi on your trail, and once they suspect the Sith, it's going to require several more centuries of laying as low as possible to throw them off the trail.
I’m sick and tired of these idiot Lucasfilm creatives trying to recreate the, “twist” and impact of “I am your father”. They can’t. Not only can’t they, but they shouldn’t be trying to wrap their entire show around how to make that happen. Thinking that it’s the main point of Star Wars is like missing the forest for the trees. There had better not be a fucking season 2 of this trash.
I read this comment chain like the Vader brings Luke to the Emperor in RotJ Luke: Reading isn't your strong suit, is it? Emperor: *turns to Luke* Your reading comprehension isn't yours. Anyway, y'all are both acting like children.
Hey Thor and Naboo: Why are you guys complaining about stuff being telegraphed, and then literally in the next breath complaining about stuff not being telegraphed? Also, the notion that you can't dare mention Vader in the same breath as almost any other character is quite obviously one of those "rules" you would immediately drop if the exact same thing was said by somebody you liked. Love your guys' show, but don't think you're being fair on this topic, TBH. Peace. ✌
Maybe with News from Naboo in the future, do more focus on the news and less on the lightning takes. I haven’t heard Thor whine this much sense the Last Jedi
@@thorskywalkerplus I could say the same thing to Thor about the Acolyte. I usually like Thor & Naboo’s videos together, y’all r fun together, but yeah.
More she talks, the more I blame whoever hired her. How did we get to this? I thought the point of this show was to open up an untouched era for us to care about. Instead we get characters that get killed that we do not care about. Darth Sleeveless, Sol, Jeckki, and I gues Osha are the only characters I even wanted to know more about. Also, Leslye's wife is a terrrrrrible actress.
Thor I enjoy you and Naboo as commentators and critics, but your clearly not finding anything enjoyable about Star Wars right now. Maybe you should stop following the acolyte and take a break for a while. Focus on some lore or projects you enjoy. I don't want you to get burned out.
To be totally honest I think they have todo another season of The Acolyte. Unless this season ends with a true Sith showing up and wastes Qimir we're gonna need more info on what the actual Sith are doing.. I'm assuming this dude is a one off and not part of the rule of two right!? If the story leads into a darker story that aligns with Plagueis and possibly leads into that book that could be promising eventually... idk maybe I'm tripping and we're all f***ed. Wishful thinking foso

I don't think they will need to worry about a season 2.
Spoiler for latest episode:
It was suggested in the latest episode that sol killed all the Jedi and they don’t know what darth smiley is which is dumb surely, they suspect that he is a fallen Jedi which says to me they are going to lean into the “grey Jedi” thing. It’s pretty dumb.
Side note: the lightsaber fight was really bad it’s flashy but is terrible. There is one point in particular where the Jedi just line up to be killed.
"Spin my lightsaber instead of hitting someone".
You mean like Obi-Wan in the prequels?
So what she is saying is that everyone should have left Germany Japan and Italy alone to do what they wanted in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s.
Star Wars Without Disney:
-2 More Seasons of the Clone Wars, 30+ Episodes which contains the story of probably the coolest Star Wars Canon Book, and one of the best canon comics.
-Potential Animated Prequel Era Movie
-Star Wars Underworld live action TV series directed by George Lucas, highlighting the crime and underworld during the empire.
-No Disney Sequels
-Potential further support of Lucas Arts Video Games (Force Unleashed, and other developers besides EA and Ubisoft)
Hey Thor and Hey Naboo,
Do you two watch Dragonball?
I have never seen it but I do believe Naboo has.
@@thorskywalkerplus give the original Dragon Ball a chance, an eternal classic, you will love all the characters.
Which is the "GAY JEDI" ?
is it true his lightsaber has funny stains at the end of it ?
Thor e5 Night deep dive: make it make sense. Is that possible at this point?
by saying "telegraphing" she is excusing her horrid dialogue.
"We'll get more into that in SEASON TWO" ?! Dear God, there's going to be a season 2 and Qimir apparently is going to survive to be in it (unless it is in flashbacks). Is there no end to this madness?
Honestly, they'll try to tie this to the sequels, so he'll be a Knight of Ren or some shit.
Season two of book of boba…. Not happening… unless change of leadership.
Thor really is just choosing to get mad at stuff he’s extrapolating from the words here
Does she ride a short bus? WHAT
"What? Your show sucks and you pissed off tEh cHuDs? You're getting 5 seasons!"
darth arm day
Spoilers: you gave them too much credit.
The way that Leslye Legohead is explaining things, is a direct reflection of the script writing of this terrible show. Doesn't make any sense.
That’s an insult to LEGO lol
@@Passport_the_Lorekeeper Well, she does have a square head. Like a piece of Lego.
Ever considered some therapy?
If the show runner has to come out and defend every episode, it's probably a trash show
A show runner talking about her show in interviews???! Shocked!!
@@discobroccoli198 Lol, reading isn't your strong suit is it?
@@sofaking1627 Comprehension isn’t yours either.
@@discobroccoli198 =) Stay mad, it wont make the show any better.
I read this comment chain like the Vader brings Luke to the Emperor in RotJ
Luke: Reading isn't your strong suit, is it?
Emperor: *turns to Luke* Your reading comprehension isn't yours.
Anyway, y'all are both acting like children.
Hahahaha...
This just isn't Star Wars anymore. I think it's even less Star Wars than TLJ.
Peace. ✌
Is she comparing Jedi to slave drivers or a totalitarian regime? 😂
Maybe with News from Naboo in the future, do more focus on the news and less on the lightning takes.
I haven’t heard Thor whine this much sense the Last Jedi
Maybe in the future watch something else.
@@thorskywalkerplus I could say the same thing to Thor about the Acolyte.
I usually like Thor & Naboo’s videos together, y’all r fun together, but yeah.
@@thorskywalkerplus Damn Thor that was cold but entirely warranted 🔥🔥🔥
she realllly doesnt know star wars does she? and she reallllly isnt all that talented of a writer is she?
You’re simple minded.
"ID RATHER GET BENT BY A WOOKIE,
THAN WATCH THIS WOKE TRASH"
-LORD VADER
Thor is becoming very annoying.
Yeah love the show but the haters will not let season 2 happen, congrats “fans”.
Gosh naboo is hard to listen to
