    I purchased mine a couple of months ago. I use it with my D5600. You can even use it to shoot some portraits.
    Liked it so much, I also got a Z 35mm S f/1.8 for my Z's. YES, they ARE both very well worth it in 2023 and beyond.

    One really good DX lens is the 18-55mm afp . It produces very sharp contrasty pictures. The colours are also very good.. I've had this as a kit lens with my Nikon d3500, lightweight and works flawlessly.

    When paired to a crop sensor camera it only renders a field of view of approximately 52.5 mm. Beside the crop optical field of view it still has the optical compression and characteristics of a 35mm lens. The vignetting would render it inadequate to be used in a full frame FX camera. Nevertheless it is fast (f1.8) well made lens for general picture taking. It's budget price could be the result of the aberration of a 35mm that attempts to act as a 50mm.

    • @azores81
      @azores81 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wait... if it is a DX lens, wont it act as a 35mm lens on a crop (DX) sensor??? O.o
      I thought only a 35 F would turn into a 50mm in a crop sensor ^^

    • @dnewma04
      @dnewma04 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@azores81no, focal length is focal length. A DX lens just won’t typically fill a FX sensor if you use one. But a 35mm fx or dx lens will both be functionally 52.5mm lenses on a dx sensor.

    Vibe gets the like! 😂 I have both the 35mm and 50mm and use them with my D7100. I like them both, but I use the 50mm more - just something about the way the photos look, plus it’s just that extra bit of reach over the 35. I actually use the D7100/50mm combo more than my other cameras, a Fujifilm and Z5.

    • @shizenjapan
      @shizenjapan ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sdhute I have the Nikon 10-20mm, very good for wide angle shots, especially when you want to do wide vistas, etc. Very clear images, its also light as anything. But it will distort images such as buildings etc due to the wideness of it. If you want for open landscapes, it is brilliant or to capture things where you just can not get back far enough to get everything in.

  • @abuanwp

    35mm on a crop means, portrait at 3meters, street photos at 5meters and family travel photos at 7meters.
    Very versatile focal length, I even have the 40mm macro welded in my D7200.
    Which is more versatile because it can focus closer to get flower macros and will serve as a 35mm at infinity.
