Normal Text: Leave your questions here and I'm going to answer you! Text if it was written by the HI3 writers: I woke up this morning! The shining rays of the sun were signaling that the day was about to start. "Is waking up that important? What meaning does my existence hold? What would Nietzsche say?" I thought to myself. Regardless, why wonder about trivial matters when the horse already won the race? I got up and slowly moved towards my computer. I started it and prepared to upload my new video. Thoughts about people's confusion penetrated my mind. You can always teach a rock to stay sit, but you'll never be able to teach it how to walk. These words were pressing my mind like a hurricane ready to tear apart the coastal splendor. Rage, irritation… but mostly confusion spread through my heart. I wanted to do something… but, can these conflicting feelings give an honest answer?... I decided to ask my viewers to submit questions. I wanted to alleviate their confusion… but, will I be able to? Time is but a lonely traveler and the deeds of the unworthy are not for us to understand. I wondered and pondered, but I ended up doing it. If their confusion was too much, I had to do something. So I told them to submit their question and gave them the eternal promise of a distant answer. May the atrocious grips of confusion disappear!
The most important thing I've taken from this is that the only reason we have planets aside from Earth without civilizations isn't because of factors relating to distance of the planets from the sun or elemental composition of the planets themselves effecting the inability of said planets to support life (as we know it) but because *a bloody cocoon keeps trying to make friends.*
Imagine being a cocoon, a being where civilization has merge with the planet. Sail away looking for friend but keep being rejected because other planet aren't as cool as you are.
Bubble Worlds usually are leftovers of real worlds that were destroyed or they are sort of "Shadows" like in Chronicles of Amer series, where Shadow Worlds were "variations of original world" with some changes or only having part of world in them, plus they had all books, dreams and stories visualised in them. Bubble worlds have very similar concept. Also all bubble worlds we know - are either some sort of someone's memory on repeat or worlds that lived through cataclysm.
There are many "types" of Bubble Worlds. It's a term used for any kind of unstable structure in the Sea, regardless of its origins. In the book "Thought Experiment on the Endless History" (Author: Youyun) that you can find on Mars, it's literally stated that in the Sea of Data the likelihood of Bubble Worlds spontaneously arising is far greater than being derived from a civilized world like those near Earth.
When your friends ask about Honkai. Friend: Hey what are you doing? Me: Playing a game. Friend: What is it about? Me: ..... It's complicated I also like to add that some character lore of part one are parsed out in mangas and visual novels which you don't have to read them but it does help add some depth to the characters. Think of them as prologues to the story
I felt that, because my main langauge is spanish and I live in Mexico, almost always the people and friends that ask me what game Im playing feel intimidated by the langauge barrier and the complexity of the story, just some of them started playing and even less of them still play but not because they dont like it but because Genshin and Star Rail have spanish subs so they follow the story more easily
@@deyash4602 the problem with that claim is that we are already fans so we're already invested and have interest in the game but try to imagine explaining the lore to someone who has no deep interest in the series
An interesting piece of information regarding the Cocoon of Finality came up in Part 2. Herrschers weren't the Cocoon's main method of attamting the Embrace, in fact it seems like it's a new/improved method from all it's previous attempts on different planets, since the people of Mars aren't familiar with the terms like Herrschers or even Honkai Sickness. So it would appear that Cocoon of Finality got ''better'' at it's ''Trial and Error'' tactic from before by the time it got to Earth.
They are not familiar with the term "herrscher" but it seems like their version of honkai did create diseases and beasts. I think they probably had herrschers too but they had a different name. Because they say their version of honkai has 10 ways of manifesting.
also to add, venus also never mentioned herrschers or the like. its very like they HAVE similar methods, but they improved on it until they reached earth. its VERY likely that even the time loop concept was new to the cocoon, since they realize "Man, going world to world, seems ineffective, why not just stay on 1 world, and repeat everything over and over. SURELY one of the cycles will succeed."
Something I learnt while playing Honkai that I recommend for new players is: TAKE YOUR TIME Honkai impact 3rd is a 7year old game with lots of content. And rushing through this content will RUIN your experience. Taking your time to slowly build characters, pull characters and weapons and enjoy the story is in my opinion the BEST way to enjoy this game. Otherwise you rushing through the game will bite you back later on. So, take your time. It’s an old game, designed to last a while for you to enjoy over a long time.
It's not healthy when a game needs a disclaimer for new players. Feels like they should look at disclaimers that current players of HI3 give new players and change the new player experience to address those disclaimers. I started HI3 because of Part 2 announcement, and the 2 BIGGEST issues I have is the need to play part 1 to progress your account at all. You want a lvl 80 account to have max level characters but you can't get account xp from part 2. You can't experience part 2 until you get your account to lvl 30 which will have you rushing HI3 story and tutorials and randomly dipping out mid story beat as soon as you can go into part 2. Part 2 has you play with trial characters the whole time, making the gacha feel really weird as a new player. The only time you would use your own characters is if you have your own lvl 80 characters, which you won't have on a new account and won't be able to male progress towards if all you want to do is play part 2. These are just REALLLY bad issues separate from being really confused with EVERYTHING going on in part 2. I'm making a conscious effort to care about the story but after 2 phases of part 2 story releasing, I'm still waiting for them to properly explain anything. BUBBLE UNIVERSES....what the fuk do they mean by this. A simple explanation about this would make the whole experience feel WAY better. All those issues aside, the part 2 characters feels great to play with and have me invested enough to care about trudging through the sludge to get my account set up for the future but I'm the type of person that will eat through slop to see the good shit. Most people are going to just quit and go back to games far less confusing. THIS IS NOT GOOD and has me worried about HI3. They need to go all in on Part 2 being the MAIN way to play the game. Part 1 should only be for novelty and lore at this point for people who love part 2. The fact part 2 has no way for me to dump my stamina is really dumb.... Anyways... that's been my experience as a new player. Fun game but really shitty introduction for most gamers.
@@lichmourne00that's the most wrong thing that i've read about part 1 and 2 thing. Even if mhy add new expansion, hi3 is still a 7yo game, jumping directly from the 7th year content is wrong
@abaddon2040 Part 2 is advertised as a jumping in point. Case closed. They don't need to convince old players to appreciate 7 yo content, but new players are going to want a polished starting experience that is easy to get into and fall into an addictive progression loop. That Isn't Happening You're constantly being forced into content that you don't want to do to progress your account instead of trying out the part 2 story which is supposed to be a fresh start for new players BECAUSE there is a backlog of old put of date content making it harder to approach the game. They want new people playing the game, which is why part 1 is wrapped up and part 2 has a completely different roster of characters to follow. I'm new, and I'm not obligated to enjoy the starting experience presented to me. I see a TON of potential in what part 2 has to offer and would like to see them go all in on it. You can't just tell new players that they are wrong in how they feel.
I disagree about not rushing. I had the most fun when I was rushing through the story and really being invested without self imposed constraints. There are also trial characters so building characters is not that important.
I start excatly 1 month ago , i beat the whole story until chapter 39 , did part 2 , and was able to get redoltus on abyss and max points in ER ,i enjoye tha game a lot and will continue to play it alongside HSR , its perfectly fine to go fast as long as you dont burn out yourself, the story is perfectly fine to go fast a slogn as you actually pay atention to it, chapter 33 was a bit hard to digest because it had a lot of exposition and bore me a little but apart from that and the stages you need to play bronya in early chapters taht the battlesuit sucks hard gameplay wise, the game was really fun
It's important to note that there's no concrete proof that the Previous Era truly understood the nature of Honkai and the Cocoon. At its core, Honkai should be destructive, but there are cases when it's peaceful (Elysia, the Honkai Beasts from the Star Wars event with Griseo, Jhanna from GGZ). Then there's the fact that Elysia sacrificed herself to give Herrschers humanity, which alters Honkai even more. However, these are isolated occurrences that function more as exceptions. The real Honkai remains a mystery because it's not even native to the Imaginary Tree. And if you throw The Lord of Myriad Realms and the Outer Gods into the mix, it's pretty much unknowable at this stage.
Griseo's planet in the event is theorized to be so far away from the Cocoon (similar to how Sa fled to the edges of the solar system to evade detection by Finality, that planet I assume is somewhere out there as well) that well, the Honkai energy out there manifests without the influence of the Cocoon
I just felt that giving people - especially new players - a simple explanation that is generally recognized in the story of HI3 will help put things into perspective more easily. In reality, things are a lot more nuanced, but this video is meant to be a simple overview. Bombarding people with GGZ Lore at this point will only make things even more confusing.
@@HomuLabs For sure, for sure. You did really well. I just wanted to add a little bit of that nuance to pick people's interest, while also promoting GGZ, which too many aren't aware of.
So far i really enjoyed Part 2, the overall vibe and especially the music is rly nice so im looking forward how everything will go. Ty for ur work on making a good explanation and summary of the story bc it often feels like a soulsborne game where u have to connect everything urself after having all items kinda xd"
Fantastic video, this is sorely needed for new players! Kinda wish Hoyoverse would do a Part 1-1.5 recap video themselves or do so within the actual story in an interesting way.
Lambda and Vita should have just done that recap instead of their natural media concept of laying the future plot format but being cryptic as hell, as to not spoil the audience on Current plot threads.
I really need this. Even as a veteran Part 2 is really confusing especially the beginning and the introductory scene when Senadina talked to Kiana and also Ai Lambda and Vita's scene. I play in the CN server as well and we'll see Kiana and Theresa again discussing about situations on Mars. At some point the story might connect to Earth as well, since the appearance of Vita, Ai, Kiana, and Theresa heavily linked to it.
Thanks for this vid man. Them using all these terminology is what was scaring me of playing this game… played a little enjoyed the combat. Then They start talking a lot to the point I was just getting confused so I just skipped it so I can play more of the combat… Will give the game another try now with all this info!
I discovered your channel recently and you do a great job. The synthesis capacity you have with such a "heavy" material is worthy of praise. And with just the right dose of humor so that it doesn't get boring.
Here is my understanding of this Mars saga. We are dealing with at least 3 Mars worlds but it could be even more. The first one is Stable Mars which we know, is a red planet, desert, devoid of living, but this is also the same place where Senadia ruled as some kind of Goddess until Honkai destroyed it to become a red planet we know today. Then there is the Buble Universe of Mars which is pretty stable even though it is floating in the Sea of Quanta, this host is the original Louqiu (Langque), and I suspect it is a world in another branch of the Imaginary tree. But then when the great calamity in Louqiu happened, the nana jutsu, split the world into two in their final attempt to save the people, this separated world became Ooka, another bubble world that floated in the Sea of Quanta. This is Yumeoibito's birthplace. the Third Mars world. Ooka connected to Loqiu via Shumatsu no Anka but it never activated until Yumeoibito accidentally activated it with the Astral Ring that Goddess Senadia gave in her dream. When YumeOibito first activates the Anka, she is transported to a mysterious Data space, which seems caused by Doniguro, On the other hand, Helia and Corallie arrive at Mars (in the Original World) and find a ruin of Shumatsu no Anka, when approaching it, they are also transported to the mysterious Data space In that Data Space, Helia, Coralie, and Yumeoibito meet with the mystery girl Senadia who lost her memory of why she was even there. from there they were transported again to Louqiu's Kohaku no Cho who despite the great calamity managed to survive and meet with Soujaku.
At first I also thought that Ai was talking to me i.e the player, but after learning about Vita and seeing them converse about part 2, I started to wonder if maybe we as a player were only borrowing someone'se eyes to look at Earth. Like imagine what bonkers would it be if AI was talked to some being in Honkai universe that we were just accompanying as a pixie on their shoulder or a spare conciousness in their mind focused on different part of the world than the main host. It'd make sense if we assumed that Captainverse is not canon, which I do assume is a fact, because omnipotent capitain would be a bit weird. I even wondered once if player couldn't stand in for some power on Honkai's side observing how humanity handles the embrace. 4th wall destroying is also cool explanation tho. I can accept either one.
The honkai-verse is very VERY difficult to understand and follow along, especially as someone who has just started to get into the fandom as a whole. There's SO MUCH lore and so many chapters and quests to go through, there's different arcs each character has to go through and constant updates. Every chapter is around 4-6 hours long and it can get VERY hard to catch up. But it's honestly worth it, sure, there's some sections that you'd really wish you could skip,(referring to filler sections) but some other sections, barely. Now, Newer fans of the story (including myself) can have quite a difficult time focusing, especially with all the chapters they need to burn through to catch up to everyone else and experience part 2 LIKE everyone else. But patience is needed for this process, and to matain it, breaks are also needed. Trust me, it's WORTH IT. From what i can gather, The story of HI3rd is like none other, and we love it for that. I still have plenty more chapters to burn through, so i may not be the best person to take this from, but then and there, It's still worth the wait.
Omg, star rail has its relic set, that involves fallen off part of Xianzhou that is called Inumosu. It has its own vibes, very similar with described world, more than that it has its own keel too. Hsr has alternative bubble world planet???
This is helpful, thanks. I've been playing through the story on and off for a long time, so I have gaps between chapters, and while I know what happened roughly up to Kiana becoming the Finality, I have no idea what happened that made Seele end up in the bubble world, and I stopped following the story about halfway through, I think after Susannah came back to the real world. I skipped Fu Hua and Seven Little Vitas as well as Griseo's chapter, since I didn't have the time, so while I was familiar with the technicalities of what happens in Part 2, WHY things are happening is a different thing. I really should catch up though, at least finish Elysia's story with the Herrscher of Corruption and Part 1 on the moon, since I have like a chapter left there.
It's hard to provide an accurate depiction because these are higher dimensional structures. So no matter how we look at it from a 2D or 3D perspective, it can't really show us exactly how they co-exist.
I've always imagined the Tree to be growing out of the Sea, with the submerged bit being slowly disintegrated at around the same rate that it grows from the energy absorbed from the Sea.
If I’m not wrong Honkai star rail has most of the same rules but they are an entire universe instead of just worlds. It’s said straight up that the universe of HSR is protected by a wall created by the Amber lord (likely to keep Honkai energy out). This allows the star rail universe to be more than just one solar system. I also don’t know if I believe the other worlds are just solar systems instead of full on universes bc then expys don’t really make a ton of sense. Additionally they actively show us that in HSR travel between planets is totally possible for normal people without the star rail or the power of an aeon. Idk about all the universe on the imaginary tree but at least for star rail it’s an entire universe that constantly expands, proven by the amber lord always expanding the barrier around the universe.
Its really interesting Honkai left mars for a reason but stayed on earth for a billion years (50k every cycle which means 20k cycles for finalitys embrace). Why did Honkai leave mars? Why didnt she just rewind time when mars ppl left img tree to live in soq. It just sounds like mars got away from honkai basically free. Just creating few anchored bubble universes really? Vill-v alone could have achieved that for earth why did we all suffer in p1 then? So far part 2s writing seems extremelly cryptic. Pretty hard to follow but i am gonna let mihoyo cook.
What are your thoughts on NPC slacker Shi Liu? It would be funny if she was one of the shus based on her name. Maybe she is a slacker because she is literally a sleeping shu
I think the best way new player could realistically enjoy part 2 without playing all of part 1 is getting to Chapter 12 beforehand. I've noticed so far that there is no real need to understand the Imaginary Tree or the Cocoon of Finality right away because part 2 has only had a heavy focus on the Sea of Quanta and bubble worlds so far. Chapter 10-12 gives most of the basics of the Sea of Quanta and would probably help players get into the story of part 2 without being bombarded with a bunch of other information that isn't relevant yet. That being said, playing through all of part 1 is probably the better option, because for me, even as a (returning) veteran player, I am still a little confused about some aspects of Part 2's story because I have missed big chapters like Elysian Realm and the end of part 1. Finding time to read those chapters is kind of hard for me though so all of my understanding of those kinds of topics have come from watching this channel lmao. TLDR; I agree that hoyo kind of missed the mark on the "friendly to new players" bit here, but I really like part 2 regardless.
I’m so happy I was right that there is an imaginary energy barrier separating worlds. I theorized it from my understanding of HI3rd (what I studied) and Star Rail (That I play a lot of). I figured it out due to the need for the Astral Express, among other factors. I also figured that the worlds visited in Star Rail were stable worlds that were attached to the Imaginary Tree, due to the existence and need for the Astral Express and the fact that the IPC was able to connect to many other worlds. Ether Anchor is new to me tho, but at least I know it’s what Bianka likely has now. But a billion years huh? Bro, Earth has been in a loop for freaking forever. 💀
level 63 here I still consider myself a new player lol but it has been fun the open world and combat has def improved and as someone who hasn’t finished the part 1 story I do agree that the part 2 story is very confusing tbh like I have no idea what’s going on but I love the new characters glad to see what they do to the story also I would love if they condensed older chapters because it is very time consuming but maybe that’s js because I’m lazy lol
They kept part 2 first batch of characters quite "simple" so that they can have room to ramp the intensity slowly My guess is that at some point part 2 combat will be have as much freedom as APHO 2 combat and it's exciting to me
has its own laws.. Does that mean, Genshin is just a bubble world of Earth? After i saw Salt Snow city, Iron Sand and other bubble worlds of Earth, Genshin might be a bubble world of HI3 Earth.
Genshin are it own bubble universe. In term what anchoring it we don’t know yet. But it loosely connected to Honkai series. Even on newest side story in Hsr there is evidence of more thing that closely connected to Hi3 and Ggz. Hence why hsr achievements for honkai series not include Genshin. You could say Genshin has its own story and problem. While Hsr Hi3 and Ggz has it own multiversal god problem.
@@alpacamix its loosely connected because its a bubble world.. i read somewhere on events and some in game that they use the term Earth. Thats why i speculate, Teyvat is Earth, then if Honkaiverse proper world is HI3 Earth, and Bubble worlds like Salt Snow City, Iron Sand, and other worlds from captainverse are just shadows of earth. Which means Genshin was once a proper world of earth but meets it finality after 50,000 years of reset. Which makes sense why Dvalin was sighted when Otto observing other worlds in Rosemary PV. Because the current tech of earth in HI3 doesnt have the capacity to travel in distant star system. They can traverse to the Sea of Quanta, or to another Reality (alien space). Which is why Genshin is not a distant planet, or different reality or universe. Its within the bubble worlds of Earth.
Part 2 is a hit or miss for many players, they either miss the old characters, hate Sena for being Ellie 2.0 or embrace the new world and give it a chance
Anchor concept. Do I understand correctly: The planet on imaginary tree and related bubble worlds must have anchors (same type) in both places to become connected? Is it possible to drop an anchor into a neighboring bubble that belongs/ralated to another planet? [Example: Earth on imaginary tree (where the story of Part 1 goes) saves dying bubble world of Mars by giving it's anchor => bond between them created] And if thats true, Is it possible for two anchors to exist in one bubble world?(*) *With this oppotunity, we even could create some kind "garland" - little bridges between all kinds of imaginary tree worlds (make possible travels beyond our solar system)
1 the imaginary tree and the SOQ are not THAT connected so u dont need the worlds to connect each other, the anchor is just for bubble worlds that WILL decay and fall more into the SEA.(ask me a more specified question ill try to answer it here) 2 possibly? The problem with that assumption is, you would have to kill another bubble world for that to happen, because remember, anchors are the one that will stabilize a bubble world preventing it from decaying. Example question, u need to give a more specific explanation here, because i dont understand most of your point. But ill try anyway, an anchor is not a literal anchor if you didn't know about that, an acnhor refers to a thing/entity that has the power to connect itself to a bubble world to another thing; proper world/imaginary tree to not decay. In short, it means they stabilize a bubble world, so you're point of saying that giving an anchor of earths to mars might help? It wont, because a specific anchor can only be connected to one specific place(if i remember correctly) im basing of the anchor to durandal chapter 25-ex 3 yes its possible for two anchors to exist, because their role as an anchor is to stabilize(take this answer with a grain of salt, i dont remember much of the lore of the Ether Anchors) Final question, no i dont think thats possible, because anchors are limited, and anchors can break, if overloaded with too much stress, so ur suggestion is thrown straight into the shadow realm. I hope i helped, but put a question to me, for those questions i was confused about.
Ether Anchors are something specific for the Bubble Worlds in the Sea. Stable Worlds on the Tree do not have them. I guess, it would be theoretically possible, but that would doom the Bubble World from which you take the Anchor from. IRC, there was an entire plot point in the Captainverse about taking Ether Anchors from different Bubble Worlds and using their powers. Another point. Ether Anchors don't really function like "bridges" normally... as in connecting the Bubble Worlds between them. This seems to be something specific for the Anchor of Apocalypse on Mars.
@@HomuLabs As another commenter said, I might actually be mixing different concepts on this issue. Okay, I'll try to convey my thoughts about that more clearly. I started my mind process from visual elements and in-game mechanics seen in Part 2. From the video, I thought that Ether Anchors on Mars Bubble Worlds are these strange shaped structures (anchor in Oxia; Langqiu; Dead Mars, where Helia and Coralie took their expedition; Playable Senadina even uses this object in the final combo, during effect of support button.) But now I’m not sure - maybe it’s all just a devices, tools that allow you to freely teleport between them. (creating a connecting network between Bubble Worlds of Mars, and already dead Mars on Imaginary Tree) In that case, what is an Ether Anchor? This is definitely not an entity - there is probably evidence about that in the story of Bianka and Seele. Someone can actually take possession of Ether Anchor, allowing to gain control over the bubble worlds (at least). But again, who can create Ether Anchor and how? Or this "item" begins to exist when the certain Bubble World are created from Sea of Quanta (from very start)? Were restrictions and limitations mentioned on this matter? Thinking about this, I was just wondering: Can several Anchors be present in one Bubble World? At least two? (Each give connection to different Imaginary Tree Worlds)... But you say that there is no such thing in Worlds Of Imaginary Tree... Doesn't the term "Anchor" meant that Bubble must to attach the Tree to not die? Or does it just simply not let the Bubble burst? (Otto's Shenanigans confused me, sorry))
@@darknight1760Ether Anchor is what kept Bubble world alive in the Sea of Quanta and don't necessary mean connect to Imaginary tree and if world do connect you don't need Ether Anchor because Imaginary Tree already keeping the world alive in its "branch"
@@HomuLabs I agree yeah. A friend picked it up because she got a couple of ad's for Part 2 and I (+5 years veteran) have to show her the ropes. Felt pretty quickly how unfriendly it is for new people, even though it is exactly NOW that they should welcome them, as a lot of people were hesitant to pick it up / said they will pick it up once Part 2 drops. Was open for Elysian Realm's story so I'll keep my heart open for Part 2 as well.
@BlazeTc1402 part 2 is incredibly strange as a new player. Feels like Hoyo is hesitant on going all in on part 2 having it have very little affect on your account progression as well as units being split between part 1 and part 2 usage. It all just feels really strange. It feels like I'm playing 2 different games to get my account set up. For the longest time, I couldn't figure out where to dump all my stamina to level up. Idk what I'm going to do to dump excess stamina once I have all of part 1 story done. There's just so much as a new player that is really confusing because of how I'm being pulled into multiple directions with what the game is telling me is important. I don't understand why they have part 2 requiring lvl80 characters making the trial characters mandatory for any account under lvl 80. Character progression feels fake as hell right now. What's the point in doing the gacha as a new player and investing so much time in building them if you just use trial characters for all the exploration you do in part 2. I'm just having a really hard time with this while enjoying the actual gameplay. 😶
@@lichmourne00 Yeah I don't get that part as well, especially the Lv 80 trail characters for people that aren't even Lv 80. I also dislike those open world-ish sections we're recently getting. What's the reason in blocking off a section for a later update when we can glitch through houses and rocks and get there anyway. I'm going to put the trail character topic into the survey with some other things as well and hope they listen, which they do unlike "the other" dev team. But since it's fairly new I'm holding my hype back for now, which became normal with new games these days. Maybe we'll get some more crystals if they have to patch some things up. :)
@@lichmourne00 honkai story stages (and part 2 open world rn) since chapter 9 had trial characters only. some open world chapters allowed to bring you your own units but with trial characters as well. imo its for emersion purposes (and new combat mechanics) because you only allowed to use part 2 cast and not everyone has sena for example. you have plenty of combat modes which use your own characters and they are not wasted at all. once you're done with the story you are done. open world is nice but in Hi3 it used as emersion tool with some nice perks not core gameplay (like genshin). guidance for new players is lucking that's for sure (especially with Elysian Realm because it opens way earlier than it should story wise) and its on hoyi but some quick google search will help you if you are confused. Stamina as in any gacha game is mostly spend on level up materials. so its ok to dump it there once in a while as a new player. i hope you will have a good journey with part 2 and part 1! also fyi part 1 takes hours. its like 50-70hrs+ at this point
ghad i really need this because some of the dialogues they speak in metaphors (or in a roundabout way) which I cannot decipher because idk what those words were supposed to stand for, thus i cannot follow their way of thinking like with gadget 😭😭 thank god coralie was with her to decipher it for me anw, it has really been bothering me since i started part 2 but senadina sounds REALLY like carole haha
Great work @HomuLabs , one point though isn't the whole "cocoon of the unwoven" a bug in translation? I don't know if Japanese rules apply same way to Chinese source, but can it not simply be "unwoven cocoon"? I.e. Unwoven-no-cocoon - can be translated both ways.
oh nonono definitely not. chinese sources says its more of a "shell of smth". plus, whether you say "unwoven cocoon" or "cocoon of unwoven", it doesnt necessarily differs from homulab's meaning of "She is just an unfinished shell containing a power, like an unfinished kiana."
Ive been playing this with 2 of my friends and we try to discuss thing's to better understand but we all came to the same conclusion that this is the epitome of yapping when reading a lot of the text. So much of it could have been summarized in way fewer words than necessary lol
I`m happy that I dropped HI3rd, cuz thing started even more complicated)) Part 1 was great. I don`t think I`ll return to HI3rd unless they resurrect Himeko)) Thx for video
So to put it Simple.. Mars Divided into few Bubble Worlds ? And the time is frozen ? So as of right now we're playing while the time is Frozen ? So, are the Anchors of Apocalypse anchoring to IMG Tree ? Or another World ? Since they're using the Anchor for travelling between world ?
Time was frozen until Kiana achieved "Embrace" with the Cocoon. After that time started flowing again. It's a bit hard to say for sure that the Anchor of Apocalypse does, because it seems to function differently from the Ether Anchors we've seen in the past. For example, we never saw an Ether Anchor that let's you travel to another Bubble World... so there is more to it than just that. We'll have to wait and see!
Mars is still there, but its inhabitants fled to bubble worlds near Mars to escape from the great eruption that occurred on the real Mars. Time on Mars' bubble worlds start flowing again some year before part 2 story begins. The anchors keep bubble worlds linked to a point in the real world, aka our solar system to prevent them from collapsing. I don't know if the anchor of apocalypse works the same way as the ether anchors, but should be similar, so all the bubble worlds should be linked to the real Mars through it. I hope this helps 👍
I just returned to the game after taking a looong break after the end of the Elysian Realm arc (I caught up with the lore/story thanks to Homu and others covering it, and I'll play through the rest of Part 1/1.5 myself in time), and I'm already loving the new team dynamic and story. Sardine -er- Senadina is incredibly fun, and Dreamseeker being a fixed character preserves HI3rd's place as a game without a self-insert. What we know about the Dreamseeker is also really interesting and there's already hints about who or what the Dreamseeker may unknowingly be. It's such a cool feeling, picking up with a new cast, but in a setting that I already know so much about. It feels both like starting fresh, but also cozy and familiar. The only drawback is that now I have to juggle both HSR and HI3rd at the same tine @_@
i'm not the only one that think sena's situation is similar to march 7th right? i know that the white hair girl is in the reburn concept trailer so mayhaps not canon but still...
Im gonna be honest I love part 2 sm already (Plus cam we address the homo-erotic dancing cg between the ds and sena???? Like????) With part 2's mouse support i can finally play on my laptop without getting vietnam flashbacks when my focus goes into the floor (Yes, no rip to my phone)
The dance was beautiful though if you refuse I think she explains that she thought it was a good way of conveying what happened, so maybe its misinfo or something cultural to her specific Mars?
The only thing we know is her scar made of High concentration of Honkai Energy and added by Fang Chuan With permission of Shao ji might important in the future story idk
Embrace is not to be taken literally. There are no feelings involved. It is more akin to an evolutionary proccess to ascend humanity above real to fictional beings.
I'm one of those new players to HI3 (came from HSR), and the only reason I'm not confused is that I've watched a bunch of your videos before I played 😅 With that said, if I was forced to go through Part 1 before Part 2, I probably would have quit. Don't get me wrong, I'm playing through Part 1 in parallel to Part 2, but the Part 1 story not only starts slow, there are big jumps with missing information between chapters 1 through 6 (apparently because they're in manga or assumed from GGZ?), and I am honestly more confused as to wtf happened in between chapters 1 through 6 and how we get to the events in Chapter 9 than I am anything in Part 2. In addition, the Part 1 early game valks are, to put simply, not particularly fun or interesting to play, which also increases the slog factor. It starts to pick up around CH 7,8,9, but up until that point, I was honestly asking myself why people spoke so highly of the story. Either way, really enjoying the game, but I do think their new player experience needs a complete overhaul, even though I have no idea how they'd go about it.
The game has links that direct you to the mangas you should read, you just click on the phone in the bottom right at the main menu and it will take you to it. Would recommend checking out Hoyostan's recommended reading order, as it puts things in a better structure and links to the visual novels that were fan translated as well (which are important).
I really recommend the Hoyostans Story Guide for the best way to experience the story of Part 1. You can check it out at this link: hoyostans.be/explore/honkai-impact-3rd/consumers-guide-hi3/
@@HomuLabs Thanks, that's an great link, it will help a ton. Also - the story timeline feature they added to HSR recently would be amazing in Honkai Impact 3rd (in some form), and I think would help contextualize a lot of things for the player.
We all hoped that hoyo will rework outdated story stages and characters but alas their lazy asses did nothing, so new players have to suffer as we did. At least you can use mouse now.
damnnn that's some good lore 👀 i'm CONSIDERING playing it but idk i don't wanna grind all the time and i really wanna get Thelema.... by the way, what marks the beginning and end of every part (part 1, part 1.5 and part 2) ?
hello! though i'm a veteran, i'm a returnee and i'm still in the kevin finality arc so i havent played part 1.5 and the event with kiana + helia and coralie. i'm honestly confused about one thing. what's the difference between luoxing and oxia? i didn't know where else to ask this so I'm confused lol. i thought oxia was supposed to describe where ds lives as a whole, where does "luoxing" come from and why does she describe it as the second smallest planet in the solar system? dunno if i described it well but haha I'm so confused
Luoxing is Mars... That's how the people from Mars call their planet. We only call it Mars on Earth. Oxia was part of a city on Mars called Antares, together with Langqui and 2 more cities that were destroyed. When the Great Eruption came, Oxia was cast into a Bubble World by the Seven Shus so that the people there can continue living in peace. So, Luoxing = Mars. Oxia = A city that was once part of Mars but now exists inside a Bubble World.
lol I never understood what the Cocoon of Finality was doing until i saw this video. Embrace... HI3 texts are too much and too flowery that I don't understand at all. Are Dreamseeker and Senadina reborn in the Sea of Data? Is the Dreamseeker the same Dreamseeker? 1.5 and the current arc of Part 2 are like side stories spun off from Cocoon of Finality past visits. Vita came out from 1.5. Senadina from the current arc of Part 2 I suppose? What are these side stories going to build up to? To APHO? War of the Planet Goddesses? lol
Hey there Mr.Homu, I recently remember an old depiction of Imaginary Tree and Sea of Quanta relationship is that the Sea will try to drown the Tree and the Tree will try to absorb the Sea, is this still correct?
Can anyone tell me what the Astral Ops are? Not their function in combat, I mean their part in lore. They're supposedly strangers to each other but how come all of them know what an astral ops is? And who are a part of it? So confusing -.-'
Genuine question: is it worth it to play honkai imapct third now, after this amount of time and all the content that i missed like the captainverse stories man....is it worth to start now?
I would say that it is... but that's something that only you can answer for yourself. Try the game! See how it feels. My only advice is to take things slowly and - if you are interested in the story - following the story guide on Hoyostans. Here is a link: hoyostans.be/explore/honkai-impact-3rd/consumers-guide-hi3/
I was also tempted a while back, but couldn't tank another gatcha game (already on GI and HSR). But I saw the entire story on youtube (like a anime) and boy...was super worth it! I cried good 5 times.
Hi! I am so sorry, i am kinda dumb.. i am new player and i suddenly switched to part 2 and kinda want to play part 1. How do i switch? Thanks in advance. Much love
Okay on the start screen on the right click Attack, then at the top click Start, after that click Story. Once you are there you can see all the chapters on the left.
You need to play Part 1 to understand Part 2? (OR play previous games to fully enjoy the Hoyoverse game of your choice?) No. But if you want to understand the bigger picture, you need to play ALL of them in Chinese language, and you also need a PHD from Theorethical astrophysics. 😅 Oh, and I want to compliment how well you pronounced Helia's name.
as a veteran player, the story writer of part 1.5 and part 2 is trying to rewrite the story without ever playing the game and hire another writer to connect the story in the most abstract way.
If the intention was to attract new players, they should not force the player to reach level 30, since part 2 should already be released from the beginning, as well as the feeling that something is missing becomes stronger, but you know the most ironic is that even if you do everything possible to avoid part 1 you will still get spoilers from part 1 in part 2 and what should be a surprise to experience part 1 in the future.would be ruined with the part 2.
@@yami7509 The important question is what you have to do to reach level 30, it has to be done by playing other game modes and completing missions for beginners, which includes part of the content of part 1 and for those who start it would be confusing, if the part 2 was already released since the beginning the part 2 it wouldn't be so confusing for a beginner who plays with a focus on the lore.
@@animebrasil11 i mean as for now it is better that way. If they just get thrown into part 2, they will be confused by the amount of menu on the bridge.
It's a weird situation because... after playing Part 2 for myself, I find it really unfriendly for new players. (from a story perspective) It's even more confusing that they specifically advertised Part 2 as a place where new players can start. And while - sure - it can be an entry point if you really don't want to play Part 1, the story is heavily reliant on terminology and info from Part 1. Heck, Healia even references the Dudu VN, which is not even available to people on GLB to officially read.
@@KifuneRaika the same reason as real life. its near earth and the size of the planet is also almost similar. Plus it is more "pleasant" than any other planet (beside earth) on solar system
More of a research. Since in part 1.5, the story introduce the character from venus and some info about mars (thanks to the project arc) were both planets that experienced the Finality.
The chances for a playable Wendy in HI3 are almost 0 IMO. But... who knows? Maybe HoYo will surprise us in the future with a Wendy variant or something. (*inhales copium*)
I just ended Elysian Realm and Thus Spoke Apocalypse (Otto is my fav char right now), can I play part 2 now? Or should I just finish Kiana's story first? I've heard almost none spoilers, except like few and some obvious stuff and I dunno what would be better for me, continue normally, or just go and play the new stuff
has always great video Homu, Im enjoying the story of part 2 so far, its really interesting, I loved the bits of lore and the things Helia and Coralie where doing when they arrived at mars, Im glad they have contact with earth (before the story begins), great work letting the confused and/or new captains undestand a bit more this great story
This sir, made me chuckle. Props to you XD

These other planets forgot to install their Elysia filters.
Imagine being a cocoon, a being where civilization has merge with the planet. Sail away looking for friend but keep being rejected because other planet aren't as cool as you are.
So if cocoon can reboot the earth why they won't do it to other planets?

Me: ..... It's complicated
I also like to add that some character lore of part one are parsed out in mangas and visual novels which you don't have to read them but it does help add some depth to the characters. Think of them as prologues to the story
I felt that, because my main langauge is spanish and I live in Mexico, almost always the people and friends that ask me what game Im playing feel intimidated by the langauge barrier and the complexity of the story, just some of them started playing and even less of them still play but not because they dont like it but because Genshin and Star Rail have spanish subs so they follow the story more easily
or,
*proceed to tell the entirety of the lore, thus giving them generational trauma*
I use the triple G explanation. Gods, Girls, and Guns
I feel like honkais lore isn't actually that confusing depending on how it's explained
Well, now I'm scared about what it's previous methods were like
Cocoon of Finality: How do you do fellow civilizations? Would you like a Stelleron? Blink twice to accept the offer.
Something I learnt while playing Honkai that I recommend for new players is:
TAKE YOUR TIME Honkai impact 3rd is a 7year old game with lots of content.
That
Isn't
Happening
You're constantly being forced into content that you don't want to do to progress your account instead of trying out the part 2 story which is supposed to be a fresh start for new players BECAUSE there is a backlog of old put of date content making it harder to approach the game.
@@zuikatsu Yes, correct.

Fantastic video, this is sorely needed for new players! Kinda wish Hoyoverse would do a Part 1-1.5 recap video themselves or do so within the actual story in an interesting way.

When YumeOibito first activates the Anka, she is transported to a mysterious Data space, which seems caused by Doniguro,
On the other hand, Helia and Corallie arrive at Mars (in the Original World) and find a ruin of Shumatsu no Anka, when approaching it, they are also transported to the mysterious Data space
In that Data Space, Helia, Coralie, and Yumeoibito meet with the mystery girl Senadia who lost her memory of why she was even there. from there they were transported again to Louqiu's Kohaku no Cho who despite the great calamity managed to survive and meet with Soujaku.
Salute to u man, U made my confusions all go away, keep up the lore and explanations. Thank u so much❤
At first I also thought that Ai was talking to me i.e the player, but after learning about Vita and seeing them converse about part 2, I started to wonder if maybe we as a player were only borrowing someone'se eyes to look at Earth. I can accept either one.
personally i was allways seeing it from a pataphysical standpoint, like in scp
You are the best man, really appreciate you and your work.
ty for making this video, looking forward to more in the future
Omg, star rail has its relic set, that involves fallen off part of Xianzhou that is called Inumosu. It has its own vibes, very similar with described world, more than that it has its own keel too. Hsr has alternative bubble world planet???
I've given up understanding any of this game's lore without youtube explaining it to me.
thank you holy for making me play through this game and make me fall in love with it 🙏
This is helpful, thanks.
I loved the Tree and the Sea at 4:18 ! To understand it better, it would be more precise to put the Tree submerged in the Sea, right?
It's really interesting itself about how billions of years had passed, while in Mars, in some texts, they passed a century.
Thanks a lot! Its so much happening in the game 😅 I am kinda lost
I mean... we already know the names of all of the Shus, and unfortunately she wasn't one of them. :(
I think the best way new player could realistically enjoy part 2 without playing all of part 1 is getting to Chapter 12 beforehand.
They kept part 2 first batch of characters quite "simple" so that they can have room to ramp the intensity slowly
My guess is that at some point part 2 combat will be have as much freedom as APHO 2 combat and it's exciting to me
Even as a veteran, im still confused at the current part 2 story
Your videos are helpful as always, Homu, thanks very much
thanks for your work.
I honestly can't get too invested in the part 2 story. I find the part 1 more engaging. Currently at chapter 13-14
has its own laws..
Elysia is literally Jesus ICANT 🤣

Anchor concept.
Do I understand correctly: The planet on imaginary tree and related bubble worlds must have anchors (same type) in both places to become connected?
Is it possible to drop an anchor into a neighboring bubble that belongs/ralated to another planet?
[Example: Earth on imaginary tree (where the story of Part 1 goes) saves dying bubble world of Mars by giving it's anchor => bond between them created]
And if thats true, Is it possible for two anchors to exist in one bubble world?(*)
*With this oppotunity, we even could create some kind "garland" - little bridges between all kinds of imaginary tree worlds (make possible travels beyond our solar system)
1 the imaginary tree and the SOQ are not THAT connected so u dont need the worlds to connect each other, the anchor is just for bubble worlds that WILL decay and fall more into the SEA.(ask me a more specified question ill try to answer it here)
2 possibly?
It wont, because a specific anchor can only be connected to one specific place(if i remember correctly) im basing of the anchor to durandal chapter 25-ex
3 yes its possible for two anchors to exist, because their role as an anchor is to stabilize(take this answer with a grain of salt, i dont remember much of the lore of the Ether Anchors)
Final question, no i dont think thats possible, because anchors are limited, and anchors can break, if overloaded with too much stress, so ur suggestion is thrown straight into the shadow realm.
@@HomuLabs
As another commenter said, I might actually be mixing different concepts on this issue.
Okay, I'll try to convey my thoughts about that more clearly.
I started my mind process from visual elements and in-game mechanics seen in Part 2.
From the video, I thought that Ether Anchors on Mars Bubble Worlds are these strange shaped structures (anchor in Oxia; Langqiu; Dead Mars, where Helia and Coralie took their expedition; Playable Senadina even uses this object in the final combo, during effect of support button.)
But now I’m not sure - maybe it’s all just a devices, tools that allow you to freely teleport between them.
(creating a connecting network between Bubble Worlds of Mars, and already dead Mars on Imaginary Tree)
In that case, what is an Ether Anchor?
Part two looks pretty decent so far 👍
Homu-goat strike again 😂🩶
Homu I live for your subscription segways XDDDD
I play Part 2 then they start mention about Bubble universe concept topic. I'm glad I already finish Part 1.
ps: New player will confuse for sure.🤣
Now the real question is:
How do you like Part 2's story so far? :)
I really like it... but I'm a bit disappointed that it turned out to be so newcomer unfriendly.

Understood, we now have Sardine-a and Tuna.
Omg yess, not only her situation but she gives me March vibes all around.

I love part 2 sm already
(Plus cam we address the homo-erotic dancing cg between the ds and sena???? Like????)
With part 2's mouse support i can finally play on my laptop without getting vietnam flashbacks when my focus goes into the floor
(Yes, no rip to my phone)
The dance was beautiful though if you refuse I think she explains that she thought it was a good way of conveying what happened, so maybe its misinfo or something cultural to her specific Mars?
@@Infelious nah nah i know it was very beautiful
Just the way they danced was very homoerotic
One thing that i want to know - why does sena has that crack on her body and does in game characters even see it (and have no questions abt it lol)
That's something we all wish to know.
The only thing we know is her scar made of High concentration of Honkai Energy and added by Fang Chuan With permission of Shao ji might important in the future story idk
So like the Cocoon of Finality is like...an awkward discord mod...with super powers...who somehow got hisekai'd
Embrace is not to be taken literally. There are no feelings involved. It is more akin to an evolutionary proccess to ascend humanity above real to fictional beings.
@@Phapchamp no I got that dw
Would recommend checking out Hoyostan's recommended reading order, as it puts things in a better structure and links to the visual novels that were fan translated as well (which are important).
part 1 to 6 is setup and char introduction and from 7-9 it starts picking up
I really recommend the Hoyostans Story Guide for the best way to experience the story of Part 1.
At least you can use mouse now.

hello! though i'm a veteran, i'm a returnee and i'm still in the kevin finality arc so i havent played part 1.5 and the event with kiana + helia and coralie. i'm honestly confused about one thing. what's the difference between luoxing and oxia? i didn't know where else to ask this so I'm confused lol. i thought oxia was supposed to describe where ds lives as a whole, where does "luoxing" come from and why does she describe it as the second smallest planet in the solar system? dunno if i described it well but haha I'm so confused

Oh, and I want to compliment how well you pronounced Helia's name.
as a veteran player, the story writer of part 1.5 and part 2 is trying to rewrite the story without ever playing the game and hire another writer to connect the story in the most abstract way.
If the intention was to attract new players, they should not force the player to reach level 30, since part 2 should already be released from the beginning, as well as the feeling that something is missing becomes stronger, but you know the most ironic is that even if you do everything possible to avoid part 1 you will still get spoilers from part 1 in part 2 and what should be a surprise to experience part 1 in the future.would be ruined with the part 2.
not really lvl 30 literally takes 1 day at most to reach
@@yami7509 The important question is what you have to do to reach level 30, it has to be done by playing other game modes and completing missions for beginners, which includes part of the content of part 1 and for those who start it would be confusing, if the part 2 was already released since the beginning the part 2 it wouldn't be so confusing for a beginner who plays with a focus on the lore.
