Hi, do you still need to update the Mic 2 via a computer or will it just connect straight away to the A4?
This a great update, if you own the Action 4 and Pocket 3 CC. Thanks for sharing.
This is huge for those of us with the Pocket 3 and Action 4. HUGE
But a buzz kill if they don’t update firmware for action 3. Since it works with other devices outside DJI ecosystem. Here’s hoping otherwise, I’ll have to purchase action 4. Be easier to buy the pocket 3 I think. That’s where they get ya.

Yes it is a great update for the the action 4 and pocket 3. Unfortunately I reached out to DJI about the possibility of the a firmware update for the action 3 (as it had the same Bluetooth protocol as the action 4 before the update) and they said they have no plans in the works to update that firmware but will pass the suggestion to the engineers. . No mention of this anywhere in TH-cam as of yet. Mic seems to work with a number of other products outside of DJI but no plans for a quite capable action 3. What’s your thoughts of this Mr Black?
Thanks to this, my setup just got way easier for this trip and I can finally leave my extra mic in my bag and keep it as a backup. I really hope that the start to sell the Mic 2 as a stand alone product soon.
Would be cool if DJI Mic 1 could also work wirelessly with action 4 without dongle.

The drumtrack underlying the video doesn't help when assessing the audio of the DJI Mic 2. Why do TH-camr's always do this - I can't tell what the audio sounds like at all...?

The Action 3 is on sale at my local store brand new for 150 and I'm tempted to pick it up. Do you know if it's been updated to work with the mic 2 via Bluetooth like the 4?
Having an issue with the mic auto-linking when I switch between the Action 4 and Pocket 3. Seems like the link is just from one mic to one device, not automatically to whichever camera device I’m using at the moment. I keep having to go back into the settings and re-pair the mic 2, each time I switch between the Action 4 and Pocket 3. What am I missing here? Is it possible to pair one mic 2, to both a Pocket 3 and Action 4? Or do I need to relink whenever I switch between cameras?
Thanks for the video. Does the mic 2 pair to both OP3 and A4 if I have them both in my bag. The mic probably won't pair to both cameras at the same time but will the mic 2 be available to both cameras? Will it easily pair no matter which camera I turn on or is it fiddly? Thanks again.

After you have it paired. And you tun both off. Will both of them automatically sync up when they both power on? Or do you have to sync them every time
This is a killer feature and the fact you start and stop recording with the mic now wow! Also obviously it won’t be long until everyone can buy the mic 2
I wish it can turn it on and off too with voice command like gopro. It would be crazy.
I hate to burst your bubble, but it doesn't sound that good without the receiver. The audio quality with just the Bluetooth connection always sounds muffled.

Hey, I just ordered and received just the Mic 2 by itself, paired it with my iPhone AND my Action 4 camera separately! DUAL pairing! I switch off the one I don’e want to use, like the 4 camera, and use it with my iPhone without having to re-pair. Don’t know if it does three devices, but TWO for sure!

Hey mate, do you happen to know if the DJI mic 2 connects to the Insta360 X3 via the bluetooth airpods option?
What is unfortunate is that the receive cannot connect onto the Osmo Action 4 like the DJI Mic 1 receiver. Bluetooth is all good, but you cannot use two mics with the Action 4 unless it's with the receiver.
what if we connect RODE Go (Dji mic) wireless mic receiver output to a Bluetooth transmitter and connect the transmitter to Gopro12 via Bluetooth ? will we have a dual wireless mic setup ?
looks like I'm going to get rid of my GoPro with media mod and all its contraptions. I might wait for the action 5 for next year to upgrade though... since the Pocket 3 gets an upgrade every 3 years. it'll be good to have both. Also, I'm expecting a bigger sensor on the Action 5 to match the Pocket 3 seamlessly.

I have action 4 wth mic 2 connected, the audio recorded is MONO. both devices updated to the latest firmware, please advise how I can record stereo
You need two transmitters (microphones) to get stereo. As such you need the receiver as well. So you can buy both a receiver and extra mic for ($219) currently in USA
Is their a reason why i cannot access the gain settings on the action 4 through Pro and then the mic symbol?

FYI, the Mic 2 also works with the ace pro as well. :-). Just pair it using the airpods feature on the ace pro

If i use the snapshot recording on my OA4, it seems that the mic will not connect instantly. It will only connect if i turn on the OA4 and wait for a while for the mic to connect.
Are there any settings that i can set to get the mic to connect whenever i use the snapshop button?
Sometimes, it does connect but takes about 5-10 seconds but sometimes, it just wouldn't
oh interesting Jimmy, i never thought to just fire it up via snapshot to try it... sounds like a bug, and ill report it to my DJI contacts to see if they can get it sorted out

Love this! I’m not sure I understand the audio to video sync feature though.
it synchronizes to the time stamps of the video because the audio on the Mic2 can be recorded separately within the Mic 2 itself as a back-up. (And probably you can have the internal action 4 mics recording at the same time for ambient sound... just a guess.)

if you want to do video editing and match separate audio files to the video then yes. if you've no need for that then don't bother as it will create another file with time data.@@Matt.Bogosian

Ah man. I was leaning towards the Insta360 Ace Pro, but this integrated wireless mic connectivity is a pretty damn big selling point. I HATE having to add mic adaptors! (Mind you, until they release the DJI Mic 2 on its own, this doesn't matter much 😆)
